The sequel would have two more actors who'd actually be gay in the film, and not pretend-gay like John and Abhishek.
Tarun Mansukhani is in the process of completing the script to the Dostana sequel. It was reported that.
The sequel would have two more actors who'd actually be gay in the film, and not pretend-gay like John and Abhishek.
The character would actually be attracted to men. Word is, that Riteish Deshmukh was approached to play the gay character, but refused.
A source says, "Riteish has an amazing flair for comedy. He was the first actor in mind for the role. Also he's sensitive and would've done the part well, without making it tacky."
It is learnt that Riteish refused the role citing personal problems. The source adds, "He wasn't keen on playing a gay character.
It's a risk for any mainstream Bollywood actor to take on such a role. He politely refused, but he was disappointed that his one of his best friends, who had many films on the floors, had offered him an insignificant role."
When contacted, Tarun says that he hasn't approached anyone yet for the film. "No one has been approached for Dostana 2. With the exception of John and Abhishek, of course. Casting only happens after the script is written."
