Gurmeet Choudhary advised bed rest

It was a moment of panic for everybody on the sets of Zee TV's Punarvivaah when the hero of the show Gurmeet Choudhary recently went breathless and complained of pain in the chest.

Seeing that the actor was in great discomfort, the crew members rushed the actor to a hospital in Borivili close to the Mira road sets in Mumbai.

The actor underwent a test that raised concerns of a heart problem.

At merely 28 years of age and given his meticulous fitness regimen, Gurmeet found it difficult to digest that he could have suffered a heart problem.

Given the modest facilities and the disorganized state of affairs in the hospital, his wife Debina insisted on repeating the tests and double -checking the results at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri.

Gurmeet underwent a battery of tests and much to everyone's relief, it was confirmed and re-confirmed that the chest pain was a result of a muscular spasm and not a cardiac arrest.

Overwork and the previous evening's rigorous workout had apparently resulted in his chest muscles going into an acute spasm.
Gurmeet was first admitted to a hospital near the sets of Punarvivaah in Mira Road. An ECG was conducted but they were not able to give us a confirmed report, which left us worried," said Debina.

"So we repeated the tests at a more reputable hospital. We're relieved now since the doctors have said that its just a muscle spasm. I'll ensure that he takes it easy at work and gym for a while!  she said.

I'd like all my fans to know that I'm fine. It was not a heart attack. For the last 7 months I have been constantly dancing (mostly involving a lot of lifts ), shooting, working out my chest and back muscles to a point of fatigue in the gym," said Gurmeet.

"All kinds of rumors have been floating around and I have been getting a lot of calls from worried fans but I'm already on my way to a speedy recovery. In fact, I resume the shoot for Punarvivaah today itself! he said.

Gurmeet floored by Kareena

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor recently promoted her upcoming film 'Heroine' on Zee TV's popular primetime drama 'Punarvivaah'.

The man who was excited the most was the hunky lead of the show, Gurmeet Chaudhary, who plays the intense, brooding Yash Scindia.

But as the day of shoot neared, the mere thought of sharing screen space with the ravishing beauty who he has always admired, turned the usually easygoing and extroverted Gurmeet into a bundle of nerves.

His inhibitions, however, were put to rest within minutes of interacting with Kareena.

She put him at ease when she recognized him from their brief meeting at the preview of her previous film.

On realizing that the release of 'Heroine' coincides with Kareena's birthday on Sept 21, Gurmeet wished her in advance for a glorious opening and a fantastic birthday.

The two even waltzed a little for the media cameras, just for fun!

The show's lead actress, Kratika Sengar (Aarti), however wasn't able to shoot with the nation's 'Heroine' as she was required to shoot at a different location with Kareena's cousin, Ranbir Kapoor.

Although I would have loved to shoot with Kareena, I am thrilled to bits having got an opportunity to work with the charming Ranbir Kapoor instead! said Kratika.

So while Gurmeet got to meet his dream girl, I was very happy to have had the 'dream boy' of millions of women all to myself! Ranbir 'Barfi' Kapoor was actually a dream to work with - a complete gentleman and sweeter than barfi! she said.

Debina my lady luck: Gurmeet Chowdhary

Television actor Gurmeet Chowdhary has been earning rave reviews for his stint in dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" and credits actress-wife Debina Bannerjee for inspiring him to give his best.

"Debina is my lady luck and my inspiration, " said Gurmeet and clarified that she attends his rehearsal sessions at his behest.

"She is definitely there (at rehearsals and performances) with me, but at my insistence. How she manages with her shoot and my erratic timing only I know. Her suggestions and mere presence make a lot of difference in my life, " said the actor who is currently seen in "Punar Vivah".

For "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", Gurmeet has teamed up wtih choreographer Shampa and they are working hard and with two back-to-back 'perfect 30' from the judges - Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo (D'Souza) - his efforts seem to be paying off.

Gurmeet who rose to fame with his roles as Ram in "Ramayana" and Maan Singh Khurana in "Geet...Hui Sabse Parayi", says he is more confident now.

"Initially, I was not able to deliver in 'Jhalak...'. Everybody including Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo sir said that I could do much better, but I was not able to showcase my talent. So I started getting creatively involved and thereafter my marks, my performance are talking for themselves, " he said.

"I am more confident now. So are my fans and my well wishers, " he said and added that when he got less marks, "my fans made sure that I stayed there. I will not let them down. I am enjoying the experience and will continue doing that."

Gurmeet caught between two women!

Actor Gurmeet Choudhary, who has been receiving rave reviews for his performances on "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5", is caught between two women - his confident choreographer Shampa and his wife Debina, who is taking personal interest in all his performances.

According to a source, Debina has been asking Shampa to choreograph three performances based on the week's theme, of which the actor's wife will choose the one she finds best suited for Gurmeet.

However, Shampa is extremely confident that the one act that she prepares for Gurmeet will take the actor to new heights in the eyes of the judges - Madhuri Dixit, Remo D'Souza and Karan Johar. In fact, Shampa is said to be not very keen on having the over-enthusiastic Debina on the sets.

With Gurmeet juggling hectic schedules between his daily soap "Punar Vivah" and "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6", the actor seems to hardly have any say!
