It's my dream to write a travelogue: Kajal Aggarwal

A visit to Norway has brought out the writer in Kajal Aggarwal

Singham actress Kajal Aggarwal was in Europe recently for long periods of time for the shoot of her Telugu and Tamil films. She shot in places like Switzerland, Slovenia and Norway.

Back home she is full of tales to tell about her trips and the places she visited. But the place that is etched in her memory is Norway. Kajal, who will be seen with Akshay Kumar in Neeraj Pandey's Special Chabbis, has been penning down her Norwegian experiences for a travelogue on the land of the midnight sun.

Kajal says, The place's scenic beauty is breathtaking. The deep fjords and tall mountains is a sight to marvel. It has always been my dream to write a travelogue. I am a mass communication student so I am very passionate about writing. I have also been asked to pen down my experiences by a lifestyle mag.

The Mumbai girl who has made a career in South flicks points out that Norway is for those who love nature and the outdoors. I spent over a week crisscrossing the country including the most remote locations. We travelled in trailers vagabond style stopping to shoot at the most breathtaking locations.
Among her most exciting visits was a trip to a massive strawberry farm. I love strawberries and it was a real delight. Despite my marathon shooting session, I felt calmed by being amidst the natural beauty of Norway. The place has a soothing effect on you.

Watchout! Kajal Aggarwal got her gloves on!

South actress alters her girl-next-door image by playing a boxer a la Mary Kom in A R Murugadoss' Tamil thriller 'Thuppakki'

After Mary Kom's win at the London Olympics, the boxing champ inspired several filmmakers to make movies based on a female pugilist. Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced that he is making a biopic based on the Manipur-based champion.

But Ghajini director A R Murugadoss' soon-to-release Tamil thriller Thuppakki is ready for the bout. His film starring Vijay has the female protagonist essayed by Singham actress Kajal Aggarwal as a boxer.

Kajal, who has featured in several South flicks, has mostly played the role of the sweet-girl-next-door. So getting into the ring was a singularly unique experience.

She says, As boxer Nisha, I am this strong willed, impulsive girl. I watched a lot of Mary Kom's matches. Initially I started watching her matches to just understand and learn her body language. Later I was totally gripped and I was following her bouts during the Olympics as well.
Mary Kom

A source from the sets adds, The role of Nisha was quite challenging for Kajal but she managed to pull it off. It helped her explore the athlete in her that she thought was non-existent!

Kajal's has been styled and designed by Komal Shahani for the film. A lot of references were taken by how Kom dressed up for her bouts. Apart from her South film commitments, Kajal will also be seen with Akshay Kumar in Neeraj Pandey's upcoming film based on the 1987 Mumbai jewellery shop heist.

Kajal Aggarwal happy about more south directors entering Bollywood

Kajal Aggarwal's next B-Town outing Neeraj Pandey's film with Akshay Kumar based on the 1987 Mumbai jewellery shop heist is still being made

Meanwhile the Singham actress continues to do South films. Her Tamil film Maattrraan with Suriya hit the marquee on Friday. But the day was also important to her as the dubbed Hindi version of S S Rajamouli's house fly flick, too, released on the same day.

Rajamouli has directed Kajal in the hugely successful Magadheera, the 2009 Telugu historical drama romance film in which she stars with Ram Charan Teja. The film is also being remade in Hindi by Anurag Kashyap with apparently Ranveer Singh.
Kajal is happy to note that several of the directors she has worked with in the South like Rajamouli are planning B-Town directorial debuts. She says, I have worked with Rajamouli Sir and working with him is an amazing experience.

He ensures that each scene is depicted just the way he has envisaged. I have seen the original film in Telugu. He's so thorough with his work. Kajal also features in three other Telugu flicks that have Junior NTR and Mahesh Babu as her co-stars.

There is also buzz that Sohail Khan is planning to remake the 2010 Telugu film Brindavanam which starred Kajal with NTR Jr.

Kajal Aggarwal craves for vada pav terribly

Actress Kajal Aggarwal, who is busy shooting in Europe for her southern projects, is missing Mumbai's spicy street food, especially the good old vada pav, terribly.

She can't wait to have vada pav outside Kirti College and is salivating for Mumbai chaat, said a source.

To satiate her craving, she even tried to find vada pav at some of the local Indian restaurants but sadly nothing seemed to compare it to the spicy delights that Mumbai offers.

Kajal has been signed to feature opposite Akshay Kumar in Bollywood movie "Special Chabbis", directed by Neeraj Pandey.

She is also part of two Tamil movies -- "Maatraan" with Surya and "Thupaakki" with Vijay. Both the films will release around the same time at Diwali.

Where is Kajal Aggarwal?

Actress on why she is missing from Bollywood and her forthcoming film opposite Akshay Kumar

Singham actress Kajal Aggarwal has been missing from B-Town after her film with Ajay Devgan released over a year ago. Though it was a box-office success, Kajal strangely did not cash in on it. She has only so far given her nod to Neeraj Pathak's film with Akshay Kumar which is based on the infamous 1987 Opera House jewellery shop heist.

The South import in Bollywood is currently shooting for a Tamil film in Switzerland. She says, People may think it strange that I did not take on more Hindi films and stuck to South projects. There were several offers but I did not want to do just every film coming my way. I prefer to be choosy and do films which have a storyline that appeals to me.

Moreover Kajal does not like the tag of being only a Bollywood or a South actress. As an actor, I want to be part of all kinds of films, the language does not matter. My job is to act whether I am doing a Tamil, Telugu of Hindi film does not matter to me.

She is part of two Tamil films with Surya and Vijay respectively. Kajal also features in four Telugu flicks which have Junior NTR, Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan Teja as her co-stars.
After Singham I have been busy with these assignments and as some have been shot extensively abroad, I have been away from Mumbai for long spells. Ask her about Rohit Shetty planning a sequel to Singham for Diwali 2014, she says, Shooting with the unit and Ajay Devgn was an enjoyable experience. I am still in touch with them.

Sobo girl

Though Kajal Aggarwal is a South import in Bollywood, she is a south Mumbai girl who lives at Churchgate. She studied at St Anne's School and Jaihind College.

First Look: Has Kajal Agarwal gone topless?

First Look: Has Kajal Agarwal gone topless?Aaye haaye, what is this I hear... Kajal Agarwal has gone topless.

Yes yes, that Singham girl has gone almost nanga punga for the cover of a men's magazine.

She is inspired by none other than Hollywood's Lindsay Lohan, who had shot for that popular cover for a mag back in 2004.

I also hear Italian phataka Monica Belucci had done something similar too.

One thing is pucca...Kajal's mentor Ajay Devgan may want to preserve that issue!

'Singham' actress Kajal Aggarwal makes her ramp debutLinkThe 26-year-old was wearing a yellow off shoulder gown and an elaborate neckpiece and earrings made of uncut diamonds. "I'm wearing this beautiful piece from the moon collection. It's basically pearls with uncut diamonds. I love it because it's unique and exquisite and the best thing I like about it is the fact that it is this lovely amalgamation of classic and contemporary which works very well. Its basically meant for brides," Kajal told reporters here.

So was she nervous walking the ramp for the first time? "Although this was my first time on the ramp, I wasn't nervous. I was just really excited," she said. New Kajal in the life of Ajay Devgan

New Kajal in the life of Ajay DevganThe tinsel town was abuzz with the affair between the beautiful actress Kajol and the daring handsome Ajay Devgan. Their love story culminated into marriage and they are known as one of the most successful star couples of Bollywood now. However it is true that the second Kajal has appeared in Ajay’s Life.

Her full name is Kajal Agarwal. She is the leading lady paired opposite to Ajay Devgan in an upcoming movie. She is an established actress in the Tamil, Kannada and Telugu movie industry. Chandamama in Telugu and Saroja in Tamil are her big cine hits. The Telugu flick Magadheera is so far her biggest block buster and has firmly placed her in the hearts of the audience. She earlier appeared in a mini role in the Hindi movie Kyun…..Ho Gaya Na. She played the role of a friend to the heroine, Aishwarya Rai.

The Hindi remake of the southern film Singam is undertaken by the director Rohit Shetty. His initial plan was to cast Anushka Shetty in the film, opposite to Ajay Devgan. However, this was not to be. Kajal Agarwal entering bollywood

Kajal Agarwal, having consolidated her position as one of the most sought-after contemporary heroines, is now moving towards Bollywood.

Kajal Agarwal entering bollywood

After a constant watch for the right chance, she has accepted a role opposite Ajay Devgn for the remake of Suriya`s Tamil hit Singam (dubbed in Telugu as Yamudu). The film will be directed by Rohith Shetty. Anushka was initially chosen but after she denied the role they moved on to Kajal.

Interestingly, many heroines from South, Shriya, Trisha, Asin and Priyamani, have tried their luck in Bollywood, but they had to make a U-turn at the very initial stage, with just one or two films. Let us wait and see how Kajal wades through the high-voltage competition there.
