According to our sources, Mika and his team are waiting for a clearance from the authorities to depart from the hotel. A source informs, Mika's concert in Washington DC went full house the day before, despite severe warnings of the impending hurricane.

The singer who is in the middle of his world tour's US and Canada leg is now stuck there. The hotel where he is currently staying is out of power. He is known to be a good cook and he has been cooking for his friends and band members who are also stuck with him.

Speaking from DC, Mika says, At the moment we are not allowed to venture out of the hotel and there are power cuts so we have no choice but to stay indoors and stay alert. But if they allow me, I hope I can join the firefighters to help people in distress. Meanwhile I am helping out with the cooking and even prepared chicken for the people here.

Mika, Sunidhi, Adnan Jamming Session

Although the Ambanis, Mukesh and Nita had a posh dinner at their Antilla residence and although the Bachchans could not attend Adnan's birthday because of their prior commitment to the Ambanis, it was a massive birthday turnout at Adnan Sami's residence in Lokhandwala on Saturday evening.

Some of the guests from the Ambanis' list hop skipped and jumped over to Adnan's party.

Says one of Adnan's prominent invitees, It was a fun evening. But more than fun, it was a MUSICAL evening. While guests like Rishi Kapoor, Subhash Ghai and Rakesh Roshan divided their time between the Ambanis and the Samis, the musical brigade namely Mika, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and her husband Hitesh, Salim-Suleiman, Anees Bazmi Sajid-Wajid, Raghav Sachar and G V Prakash (of Aa ante amblapuram) turned the formal sit-in dinner into a jackets-off musical evening.
Says a guest, Mika initiated the idea of an antakshari based on the songs of all the filmmakers, actors and musicians who were present at the party. It started as a spontaneous outburst of joyous singing but quickly became a homage to the music of Rishi Kapoor, Subhash Ghai, Rakesh Roshan, Anees Bazmi and Adnan Sami. Rishi, Subhash Ghai and Rishi Kapoor also joined in.

The music dancing and partying went on until 5 in the morning.

Says Adnan, It was an amazing evening. I expected it to be enjoyable. But not so musical. We sang all night.

Adnan also cut a piano-shaped cake. Surprisingly the hot-model types, usually so ubiquitous at Adnan's binges, were conspicuous by their absence this time.

Says Adnan, This time I only had eyes for one lady, and that's my wife Roya. No diversions, please.

Mika, Shaan together in movie?

Popular Punjabi singer Mika says he is set to feature in a film titled "Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaye", which will also star singer Shaan.

"My friend Sunil Agnihotri (director) is making a film in which he had cast Shaan. Later, (production banner) T-series said 'If you club Shaan and Mika, it would be great.' So we are doing a movie," Mika told Bollywood-Stop.

"I am happy that someone thought that I can work in their film. The name of the film is very funny," he added.

Mika and Shaan's style of singing is as different as chalk and cheese. The two have so far never sung any number together, but will be collaborating on a song in this movie.

"Shaan was laughing about the fact that we are friends since so many years, but we have never sung a song together. We thought do we need to do a movie in order to sing together," he said with a bout of laughter.

However, Shaan and Mika shared the stage together in singing reality show "Music Ka Maha Muqqabla" in 2009. Mika says they will be seen on the big screen by the end of this year or early next year.

For now, he is busy judging channel Life OK's stand-up reality show "Laugh India Laugh".

Mika is a known name in the world of music, and has scored chartbusters like "Mauja hi mauja", "Subah hone na de", "Pungi" and "Desi beat". He feels the new breed of aspiring singers is too confident.

He advises them it is important to understand that talent and business are two different things.

"The problem is that newcomers are too confident and they don't want to search for a path. Talent and business are two different things. You might have talent but you should know how to sell it as well. They practice a song and sing it but people don't know who the singer is," he said.

The 28-year-old feels newcomers should be clear about what they want and not get distracted.

"It is very important for newcomers to know what they want. It is popularity plus money. They get distracted and think that they will get busy. They should just go for things which give them popularity," he said.
