Neil Nitin Mukesh turns lover

After doing dark edgy films, Neil Nitin Mukesh is doing a romantic saga - his first love story

Due to the kind of films he has done, Neil Nitin Mukesh's name is synonymous with dark, edgy subjects that have a thrill element. The actor, however, feels he will have an image makeover in debutant director Prerna Wadhawan's film which stars him with Richa Chadha.

It is Neil's first love story on the big screen. Though his earlier films like Lafangey Parindey did have romance thrown in, it focused more on the physical challenges his character had to battle with.

Says a source, His upcoming film is an out-and-out love story. The kind that most B-Town actors would choose as a launchpad. But Neil chose a different path with his films ever since Johnny Gaddar.

Adds the source, The genres of films that Neil has done so far has the audience seeing him as an underworld character or in gangster mode. But now Neil is stepping into the chocolate boy mode.

Neil, who also features in Bejoy Nambiar's film as well as a supernatural thriller, feels all the three projects will showcase him in distinct avatars.

As the source puts it, Bejoy chose Neil given his personality in the edgy thriller space. Given the ease with which he fits into the edgy space, Bejoy is basing the promotional campaign on him.

Both actors' characters in their upcoming films 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' and 'David' respectively look similar and will also release on January 11 next year

It could well be less than six degrees of separation between Imran Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh. Both actors are all set to lock horns at the box office on January 11 with their respective new films. However, the similarity between the two does not end there.
Neil features in Bejoy Nambiar's next while Vishal Bhardwaj is directing Imran. A source informs, Both Neil and Imran made their Bollywood debuts in 2007 and were considered promising names right from the minute go. Their upcoming projects are defining films for both of them as both the filmmakers are established names to reckon with and have carved their own niche.

Neil's look in 'David' inspired by James Dean

Neil Nitin Mukesh's retro look for Bejoy Nambiar's next film is inspired by Hollywood actor James Dean in 1955 Oscar-nominated film 'Rebel Without A Cause'

Neil Nitin Mukesh is currently shooting for Shaitan director Bejoy Nambiar's next project in Ooty. The unit has been guarding the looks of the cast that includes South actor Vikram and Tabu as they want to keep it a secret. However, a source happened to catch a glimpse of Neil's look in the film.

Says the informer, `Neil's look seems to be inspired by Hollywood actor James Dean's look from the 1955 Oscar-nominated film Rebel Without A Cause about a rebellious young man with a troubled past. It appears that Neil's character seems like it has an edgy quality given the way he has been styled in the film.`

The informer adds, `They seem to have taken references from the late James Dean's film. The look is classic with a very retro feel including old sweaters and leather jackets combined with modern elements like skinny ties and round neck t-shirts. The hair is short, gelled back unlike Neil's long hair ruffled look.`

Looks like Nambiar's gangster flick as all the characters in special looks with detailed styling no wonder the filmmaker does not want the look to be out.

Food on Neil Nitin Mukesh's mind

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh is known for his lean built and handsome looks.

The talented performer admits that he has some foodie weaknesses, but insists that he`s a healthy eater (mostly!). At a recent brunch event, B-S did a rapid fire with him:

Eat right
Like many, I too had misconceptions about food and diet. Nowadays, I follow a fixed regime of six small meals in a day. It is very important to understand what kind of food you`re eating and at what time. I am lucky to be blessed with a good dietician who understands my body and its requirements.

Idea of a perfect brunch
I love tikkis, salads, assorted breads and some grilled chicken or steamed fish in a brunch meal. The idea is to have something substantial but not too heavy.

Staying natural
Throughout my life, I have stayed away from fad diets and such humbug. I believe that artificial things do more harm than good. So, whether it is cosmetic surgery or fat burners or steroids, I stay miles away from them at all times.

My weakness
I love chocolate. Once in a while, I can have an entire chocolate bar at one go.

Food destination
It has to be New York. The city has an amazing range of cuisine to tickle your taste buds. Even people with dietary restrictions can find a variety of dishes there.

My statement on Sonal misinterpreted but I do like her a lot: Neil

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh says his statement on his closeness with his "3G" co-star Sonal Chauhan was misinterpreted, but admits "I really do like her a lot".

"Sometimes, unfortunately what you are trying to say is always misinterpreted and her interview (in which she slammed Neil's statement) was to just balance that out," the 30-year-old said on the sidelines of the launch of dietician Pooja Makhija's book "Eat, Delete".
Neil had reportedly confessed to being in love with Sonal and also stated his wish to marry her. This did not go down too well with Sonal and she slammed Neil for making such claims. But he says all's well between them.

Neil Nitin Mukesh's snake scare!

Actor has a encounter with the deadly reptile during the shoot of his film in Fiji

Neil Nitin Mukesh and his alleged girlfriend and co-star Sonal Chauhan recently spent time in Fiji, shooting for their new film.

During a particular schedule, where they were shooting under the water surface, the two suddenly got surrounded by sea snakes. However, little did they know that the reptiles were extremely poisonous, as the crewmembers had wrongly informed them that the snakes were simply harmless.

Our source says, “As a result, they were relaxed and went for the shot. Later while the shooting was going on, the snakes started coiling around their legs. Needless to mention, they were really scared but the two maintained their calm.”

It was only after the wrap-up that the two actors were told the snakes were deadly.

Neil tell us, “We stepped into the ocean but as we went slightly deeper, the snakes were slowly coiling themselves around our legs. We didn’t want to create a commotion and decided to stand quietly till they moved away. Later when we got out of the water we were told that they were poisonous.”

Climate change

Now that he is back in town, Neil is enjoying the weather. He points out, “The Fijian weather is very unpredictable. In spite of the island being surrounded by the sea, there were days the wind didn’t blow at all.

Sometimes there would be a storm. In Mumbai, at least, you can quite predict the weather.”
