Actress Yami Gautam is a fitness enthusiast and is said to be undertaking a gruelling workout regime.

She is a regular with Hot Yoga, an exercise performed under hot and humid conditions. But she has lately taken on TRX as a new workout regime to stay fit, said a statement.

An industry insider says, With so many of them this year, some of them have not even secured a nomination which has upset them. And with Ileana having featured in several South films, does she qualify as a newbie?

The source adds, Esha Gupta who had three films out in her very first year seems to have been forgotten and hasn't been featured in the debutante nomination consideration set starting with an awards show owned by a large entertainment led company.
Esha Gupta

This has made this outspoken newbie quite upset and she has apparently been wondering why that has been the case especially since she is one of the names who's had coveted filmmakers on her resume in the first year itself.
Alia Bhatt
Ileana D'Cruz

Does this mean that we will see some more catfights as a run-up to the awards? Well, we just have to wait and watch!

Yami Gautam rescues her male fan

Vicky Donor actress came to the aid of an injured bystander in Kolkata after fans mobbed her at a dance event

While some Bollywood celebrities shy away from meeting their fans one to one, Yaami Gautam did just the opposite. At a recent event in Kolkata where she performed, the actress came to the rescue of a fan, who sustained injuries when fans went berserk seeing her.

Our source, who was present at the venue, says, Some of her fans tried to reach her as they wanted to present her with flower bouquets. Some of them started throwing bouquets in her direction and one such large bouquet ended up striking a boy, who was standing quite close to her, on his face.
The innocent bystander was apparently badly hurt as the rogue bouquet caused his nose to bleed.

The source adds, Yaami left the stage to call a doctor. She made sure that the boy received the doctor's attention and he soon regained consciousness. She even spent some time chatting with him. Now that's one lucky boy!

Rs 1.5 crore? Is Yami Gautam getting too big for her boots?

After the actress demands Rs 1.5 crore to endorse a jewellery brand, she is promptly replaced by Ileana D'Cruz at one third of the price

Post her debut in Vicky Donor, Yami Gautam has been having a rollicking time when it comes to endorsing brands. Not only is she the face of a fairness product, she is also the brand ambassador of a cell phone company.

However, when she recently demanded Rs 1.5 crore to endorse a product, the owners of the jewellery brand promptly replaced her with Ileana D'Cruz.

Our source from the jewellery company says, Yami is definitely in demand but the price she quoted was a bit too much for us. So we went ahead and approached Ileana.

The source also points out that while Yami is just one film old, Ileana already has a huge fan base in the South. Ileana apparently was signed for a comparatively lesser sum of Rs 50 lakh.
The informer adds, Ileana is a fresh face and post Barfi! she has been flooded with lots of offers. She showed interest in our brand so we signed her.

While Yami remained unavailable for comment, Ileana's spokesperson confirmed that she has just signed a diamond jewellery brand.

Shocking Online trouble for Yami and Vidya

Both actresses become victims of impostors on social networking sites

While one may be a seasoned actress in Bollywood, and the other still sinking her teeth in, looks like both Vidya Balan and Yaami Gautam were in for a rude shock recently. Both actresses have realised that there are imposters on the web, pretending to be the real Vidya and Yaami.

Our source says, Vidya was shocked over the number of people she has been meeting in the industry informing her of their conversations with her on a social networking site. She has now managed to inform her near and dear ones that they have been chatting with the fake Vidya.
What's interesting to note is that both Vidya and Yaami are not registered on any social networking website. Vidya says, Even the '@realvidyabalan' handle on Twitter is fake.

Yaami, who is currently shooting down South for a Tamil film, admits that she doesn't believe in spending time on social media.

She adds, I have never really been a fan of it. Having said that, I do occasionally browse these sites and despite my absence on it, it's amusing to read the comments and receive feedback from my fans!

I don't see myself doing an item number: Yami Gautam

Yami Gautam, who stole audience heart with her endearing Bengali girl role in Vicky Donor, walked the ramp as a showstopper for Mandira Wirk, Sunday at the Kolkata Edition of Blenders Pride Fashion Tour (BPFT), 2012. Shabarni Basu caught up with the actor right after the show. Excerpts:

How do you feel wearing this dress for Mandira Wirk at BPFT?
That is really a creation by Mndira Wirk. Mandira is no stranger to the fashion industry. She is one of the most talented designers in fashion industry. I feel the dress is so beautiful with the colour, texture that added to the whole outfit. I didn't even need accessories as the dress is so beautiful in itself. So thanks to Mandira.

You personal style statement?
Its very simple very casual like any other girl. A pair of jeans and white shirts do the best for me.

How do you feel walking at the ramp here in kolkata?
Very special and I think it's Kolkata that makes it even special. I love kolkata because it's very close to me, I played a Bengali girl in my first movie. I think it's just amazing also for the warmth towards me every time I come here.
What about the ad film you are doing with Shoojit Sircar ?
Oh I think it's avery cute ad, we have just wrapped up shooting. It's beautiful and it's a treat working with him anyday. You'll see it very soon.

Any Bengali project in the pipeline?
I would love to do. No project as of now.

Have you learnt the language?
I don't know Tamil and Telegu either but I have worked. Not that it is not important to learn the language but I don't think language can be a barrier in the creative aspect.

Life after Vicky Donor?
It's been like this. I am getting to walk the ramp for such talented designer. It's really nice and trust me the respect that I have set for myself is more. It's not easy to be here but nevertheless the kind of warmth you get in the eyes of audience makes the difference.
Chemistry with Ayushmann Khurrana?
A great co-actor to work with. Everybody loved the film.

What kind of projects you want to do?
I don't want to get stuck up with one kind. I really haven't fixed myself with this as the only kind I would do. As an actor my first film lifted me but am here to experiment and entertain.

Do you see yourself as doing item numbers?
No, I don't see myself doing an item number!

How do you keep yourself fit?
I do Yoga.

Favourite Designer?
Mandira!

Any actor you want to work with?
There are too many to name and of course in Bengali there is Prosenjitda (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and Konkona I would love to work with!
Any choice for festive season?
There are many contemporary ethnic designs. But you don't really need to go by fashion trends, you need to look good, and respectable. Just be yourself! It's a very wrong notion that you need to look stylish, just be confident and you'll look the best!

Have you been to Kolkata for the Pujas?
No I haven't but would Love to!

No star would've agreed for Vicky Donor: Shoojit Sircar

There was a reason why director Shoojit Sircar decided to rope in fresh actors for "Vicky Donor". He says he roped in Ayushmann Khurrana for "Vicky Donor" after a "star" refused to be a part of the film, which turned out to be a sleeper hit.

"The storyline was very unconventional and when I approached a star with the script, he liked it, but had some apprehensions about it and after that I realised that no star would agree to do this film," Sircar said.

"It was then that I decided, I shall have a complete fresh cast and crew for this film," Sircar said at a talk at Whistling Woods International, Mumbai.

The film, based on sperm donation, also featured newcomer Yami Gautam.

"Ayushmann was an easy pick but we auditioned a lot for the female lead," said Sircar.

"I run a theatre group in Delhi called Act1 and Ayushmann and Yami were trained in acting there for three months and I also took workshops with them for 15 days," he added.

People liked me without skin show: Yami Gautam

'Vicky Donor' actress on taking time to sign her next Bollywood film and enjoying her single status

Post her Bollywood debut in Vicky Donor, Yami Gautam is taking things rather slow for a while. In fact, the actress says that since her first Hindi film proved to be a runaway success at the box office, she can afford to be a bit choosey with her future projects. Buzz is that she in Vipul Shah's next but the actress refuses to reveal any detail.

Yami says, I do have a couple of good offers but I am under no pressure to choose one right away. After all, my debut film was a hit! When I sign my next, I am sure my director will announce the news.

The actress' former co-star Ayushmann Khurrana has already gone on to sign more films. Does the fact that she is yet to sign the dotted lines bother her?

Pat comes the reply, I don't want to sound pompous, but honestly I find it funny being compared to another actor. I felt happy when someone wrote I did a good job doing my role in Vicky Donor. There was no skin show involved, yet people liked my work.
So how has life changed after her debut film? Yami says, `I am still the same girl. I am grounded. My head is on my shoulders and I like to be with my family. They are proud of my work. My parents are really supportive and they are more contemporary than I am.`

Vicky Donor made her a household name. So has fame brought her male attention as well?

Yami states, I am single but it's nice to have a lot of male fans. But I am in no mood to mingle. I enjoy being single and am concentrating on my work right now. I wouldn't get into a relationship just for the heck of it.
