In multiplexes but Colors channel, which had obtained the TV rights of the movie, will be screening 'Kites' on June 27.
The channel had previously shown high-profile films like 'Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani' and 'Blue' within months of their release.
"We endeavor on bringing the biggest Bollywood blockbusters to our viewers, right in the comfort of their homes. The next six to eight months are going to be a pure treat for the viewers as we plan to showcase a series of big and recent Blockbuster films," said Gaurav Gandhi, Chief Commercial Officer & Head - International Business, Viacom18.
Produced by Rakesh Roshan and distributed by Reliance BIG Pictures, it was among the most awaited films of the year, and released worldwide May 21. But, despite a grand opening, the film failed to rise up to the expectations of critics and viewers. Also starring Kangana Ranaut and Kabir Bedi, the film is a love story set against the back drop of a robbery in a Las Vegas casino.
