Daisy Shah goes under the knife, Salman Khan foots Rs 1.5 lakh bill

Known for his generous presents, Santa Salman now has apparently gifted a cosmetic surgery package to co-star Daisy Shah

From gifting free flats to his romantic interests and special friends to showering money on the needy, we have all heard of Salman Khan's benevolent ways. But this one seems to take the cake when it comes to the star's generosity. Salman has apparently paid a whopping amount for a surgery to trim off excess flab for his co-star Daisy Shah.

The newbie actress is starring opposite the actor in Sohail Khan's upcoming production. Apparently last week, Daisy checked into a hospital in Shivaji Park. She remained at the medical facility for two days after going under the knife. 

A hospital insider says, `She ran up a bill of around Rs 1.5 lakh and Salman paid for it.` 

Salman and Daisy's friendship also grabbed headlines when the two were spotted bicycling around the hills of Lavasa during the shoot of their film. Daisy remained unavailable for comment.

With Salman's dates for Sajid Nadiadwala's upcoming film going haywire, it looks like brother Sohail has come out smiling from the situation. 

Sajid's crew had been patiently awaiting Salman's arrival in UK, but owing to his visa woes, the star was unable to leave the Indian shores. Sources say the entire crew has now flown back from Glasgow to India.
Interestingly, instead of trying to sort out the issue within, Salman has apparently gone ahead and allotted his dates for Sajid's next for Sohail's film. 

A source says, Sohail was initially supposed to wait for Salman to wrap up Sajid's London schedule. But with Sajid now gearing up for a recce for his next location, Sohail will have two months to take his film forward.

No Forgiveness: Salman, Shah Rukh ditch Sridevi's Party

While most of Sridevi's leading men from Vinod Khanna to Anil Kapoor showed up at the celebratory party thrown at the lounge Alibi in Colaba (Mumbai) by politician Amar Singh and Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan who were supposed to most certainly be there did a no-show.

And the reason was not their mutual hostility (yes, the Iftar hug notwithstanding they still don't talk). Their reason for not turning up for Sridevi's golden hour was quite different. 

According to a very reliable source, Salman and Shah Rukh were both aware of each other's invitation at the party. They didn't mind coming face to face. They didn't show up for entirely different reasons. Salman was all dressed and ready to leave for the party when he heard that the party had been organized by his one-time friend Bunty Walia. He immediately changed his mind. 

For those who came in late, Salman and Bunty used to be the thickest of friends. But then they had a massive fall-out. As everyone knows Salman's former friends are never forgiven. Any sign of the 'B' (for Bunty) word and Salman baulks. 

Shah Rukh was apparently all dressed and ready to arrive at the venue at 12 midnight. For reasons best known to him he changed his mind. 
These Khan superstars' no-show apart Sridevi's party was a grand success. All her female colleagues like Hema Malini, Juhi Chawla, Sushmita Sen, Shilpa Shetty and her co-stars Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor to Vinod Khanna to Anil Kapoor (with wife Sunita) had turned up. Tennis champ Mahesh Bhupati with wife Lara Dutta rubbed shoulders with media baron Subhash Chandra. The political brigade was represented by such heavyeights as Praful Patel and Salman Khurshid. 

It was gratifying for the guests to see Boney Kapoor's daughter Anshula from his first marriage present at the party. 
Says a prominent guest, Boney's son Arjun was also supposed to be at the part. But Arjun's shooting in Chennai for 2 States got delayed because of rains and he couldn't make it. Boney's sister (whose son is being launched by Akshay Kumar) couldn't make it at the last minute because of a medical emergency in the family. However Sanjay Kapoor and his wife Mahip were present. 

The party was a resounding success. 

Says a VIP invitee, It went on until 3. 30 am. I'd say the highlight was the 7-minute show-reel on Sridevi that Amar Singh had gotten made. It traced Sridevi's career from a child artiste to the most recent cover-shoot for Vogue magazine.

Salman hit-and-run: Hearing on Sept 5

A Mumbai court on Monday set Sept 5 for hearing the 2002 hit-and-run case involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

Khan was not present in the court on Monday. He has been exempted from personal appearance.

The court on July 24 framed new charges against Khan in case.

According to reports, Khan will now be tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Khan has pleaded not guilty to the charges. However, if proven guilty, the actor might be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Khan was earlier facing the trial for rash and negligent driving, which awards the convict with a maximum sentence of two years.

However, the court handling his case, in January, accepted that the police have provided evidence that merits trying the actor for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which awards the convict a punishment upto ten years in prison.

The case was then transferred to the sessions court as the magistrates' court did not have the jurisdiction to hear the same.

In February, Khan challenged the order and filed a revision petition, pleading that the stringent charges against him be dropped.

In 2002, the actor driving a SUV had run into a bakery in suburban Bandra, and the accident took the life of one pavement dweller while injuring four persons sleeping on the pavement outside.

Big films to watch out for in 2013

While 2012 saw a spate of Bollywood films at the box office crossing the magic mark of Rs 100 crore, here's hoping the new year too will bring its fair share of moolah-rakers

Dhoom 3: The third installment of the Dhoom franchise will see Aamir Khan in a negative light for the first time in his career. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who was the writer of the first two installments, the film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
Krrish 3: This is the third installment in Hrithik Roshan's Koi...Mil Gaya series, which was followed by Krrish that portrayed India's first very own superhero. The film has Vivek Oberoi and Kangna Ranaut as the baddies.
Chennai Express: This will be Shah Rukh Khan's first with Rohit Shetty, who is great buddies with his bete noire Ajay Devgn.
Radhe: This Salman-starrer will be directed by his brother Sohail Khan, who is making a comeback after nearly eight years. The film is slotted for an Eid release that is considered to be a lucky date for Sallu.
Ram Leela: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film was initially said to star Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor. Bebo however was later replaced by Deepika Padukone.
Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani: Post their break-up this film will be Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika's first film together. Helmed by RK's friend Ayan Mukerji, the film's been in the making for quite a while now.

Anees Bazmee still longing for Salman

Director Anees Bazmee, who is keen on starting his next film 'No Entry Mein Entry', is still waiting for actor Salman Khan's dates

'No Entry Mein Entry' is a sequel to 2005 film 'No Entry', which featured Salman, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan in lead roles. 'I am waiting for Salman Khan's dates. He is packed with his prior commitments. By the first week of January 2013 we will be meeting Salman and confirm the dates,' Bazmee told in an interview.

While Salman, Fardeen and Anil will reprise their roles, the leading ladies are yet to be finalised. 'Nothing has been finalised yet. Things will fall in place only once I get Salman's dates. So I will finalise the leading ladies after that,' he added.
The director hopes his film will go on floors in the middle of 2013. 'It is too early to comment on that right now. I believe the film should go on floors by the mid of 2013,' he added.

Next Eid, Salman will be an Army officer

Though Salman Khan is tied up with his forthcoming film, it is a work in progress for his next project that is slated to release in August 2013 around Eid time

Directed by Sohail Khan, the film is a remake of A R Murugadoss's 2006 Telugu film Stalin starring Chiranjeevi and Trisha. The film rolls in January and Sallu will reprise Chiranjeevi's role of an army officer.
Meanwhile...
Buzz is that Sallu and his family will usher in the New Year in Dubai. The Khan-daan for the past two years have been celebrating the turn of the year in the desert emirate.

Guess they have lots to celebrate after Dabangg 2's box office collections.

Human rights trouble for Dabangg 2

William Nicholas Gomes from Centre for Applied Human Rights in University of York (UK) has appealed to the makers of Dabangg 2 to remove the sequence where Salman Khan's character Chulbul Pandey glorifies the practice of torture by police forces. This will raise wider public support in favour of torture and ill treatment in the custody, he said which was published by Hindustan Times.

For those who are unaware of William Nicholas Gomes, He is a Human Rights Ambassador and a Bangladeshi Journalist who was accused of Woman Trafficking. According to a weekly Tabloid 'Blitz Weekly' published last year, While William Gomes was working in CARITAS, He tried to steal information from the computers in that organization, and he was sacked from CARITAS being caught red-handed while stealing information.
The article also says, According to Bangladeshi intelligence, William Gomes is a low graded publicity hunter as well as a Marxist with anti US and anti Israel commitment.

Producer Arbaaz Khan remained unavailable for comment at the time of going to press, Maybe we can guess the reasons.

Katrina most ideal wife for Salman

Actress Katrina Kaif has topped the list of perfect matches for Bollywood's famous bachelor, and her former beau, Salman Khan, according to a survey by a matrimonial site.

The survey covered 21,000 respondents, and 69.84 percent believed that Katrina, 28, would make an ideal wife for Salman, 47.
Another interesting survey around the "Dabangg" star reveals that 62 percent of Indian men don't want the actor to get married at all while 60.37 percent women want him to settle down as soon as possible.

In the survey, several fans from the south would like to see Salman's "Dabangg" co-star Sonakshi Sinha as his off-screen life partner too while north Indians won't mind seeing southern actress Asin as his better half in real life.
"Most individuals associate themselves with a celebrity at some point in their life. Through the poll, we wanted to understand how an icon's lifestyle influences people's views and choices during partner search," said Gourav Rakshit, chief operating officer of the match making portal.

Movie Review: Dabangg 2 will make your Christmas Holiday merrier

The wait is finally over. Salman Khan is back in full form once again with his 'Chulbul Pandey' avatar. But this time, He brings in more Power, More Punches and More Entertainment. The crowd is ready to Whistle, Scream and Go Ga-Ga for Salman Khan's star-power.

The film tells the story of Chulbul Pandey who moves to Kanpur. The moment Chulbul reaches Kanpur, He gets into tough-conflict with Baccha Bhaiyya (Prakash Raj). Baccha Bhaiyya is a criminal and a politician too. Bachcha Bhaiyya is scary. He has two brother's named Chunni (Nikitin Dheer) and Gainda (Deepak Dobriyal).
Things take a turn for worse when Chulbul Pandey kills Gainda. A volcano erupts and a Battle takes place. A Battle between Chulbul Pandey and Bachcha Bhaiyya.

Prepare yourself for this year's most deadliest combination of Salman Khan and Prakash Raj. The towering performance with some fireworks in 'Dialogues'. It's a treat to watch both Salman Khan and Prakash Raj together once again after Wanted. Salman Khan as usual is the best. Arbaaz Khan as a director knows his job well. He execute every scene keeping in mind the 'Stardom' of brother Salman Khan. He tries his level best to give you a sure-shot entertainer in his very first film as a Director. 

The songs in the film are already a rage with 'Fevicol Se' becoming an all-time chartbuster. Kareena Kapoor performs good in the song. Bhaiyyaji Seeti is another craze. The camerawork of the film adds feather in a cap. The editing could have been more slicker by chopping off some 'Unwanted' scenes in a 2+ hour film.
Go watch Dabangg 2 keeping the fact in mind that it's a Salman Khan movie and make your Christmas Holiday merrier.

Finally, Salman want to tye the knot

Superstar Salman Khan has finally put to rest questions pertaining to his marriage, saying he will think about tying the knot only after the verdicts of Jodhpur and Mumbai courts in the blackbuck and vehicle mishap cases against him

The 46-year-old actor, who is always hounded with questions about his never ending bachelorhood, has been linked to a number of women in his career but is said to be single post his alleged split with actress Katrina Kaif.

'I will think about marrying only after the courts give their verdicts. If the verdicts go against me, I will marry only after coming out of jail,' the actor told Rajat Sharma during India TV's show 'Aap Ki Adalat'.

Salman is fighting a case in Jodhpur court in the killing of a blackbuck during the shooting of 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in 1999 and another in Mumbai court for the vehicle mishap incident in 2002, which resulted in the death of a person.

'I hope to be acquitted in both cases, but if I marry before the verdicts, will it be fair? Suppose, if there is a turn of events and I am sent to jail, and my wife has to come with our child to meet me in jail. Will it be fair?,' joked the actor.

Salman, who has delivered back to back hits, is often called 'critic-proof' thanks to the box office performances of his films, latest being 'Dabangg 2'. But the actor has been advised by the doctors to avoid doing action sequences because of his trigeminal neuralgia condition, for which he underwent an operation last year. Speaking at length about the blood clot in his brain, Salman said, 'There are two options.
If there is a surgery there could be loss of sight and loss of balance. The surgery could then prove negative. I have chosen the other option. I admit there is a problem, but everything will be fine. Doctors have advised me not to do action sequences and avoid anger to keep my BP in check. 'But if I am totally unable to do action sequences, then I will stop doing films. After all, the audience pays money to watch my action,' he added.

K.Jo and Salman new best friends

Sources say Shah Rukh's best friend Karan Johar and Salman Khan were practically joined at the hips at the premiere of 'Dabangg 2' and also at the after-party

Now this is something that we want to hear more about. Apparently at Dabangg 2's premiere as well as at Sohail's Khan's birthday party afterwards, SRK's best friend Karan Johar was spotted spending considerable time in the company of Salman Khan.

A source who was present at both the events says, Karan stuck like glue to Salman. They remained inseparable throughout. It was shocking for many guests at the party considering that Karan is known to be a close friend of Salman's archrival Shah Rukh Khan.

In fact, apparently Karan was present at the bash even after the party was officially over. The source adds, So much that Salman too at one point of time was wondering why KJo was being so friendly.
A guest who was invited to the Khan bash states, It is a little known fact that Karan is Salman's friend and they worked together in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. KJo was not seen with Salman till very recently. He is now a regular at Salman's parties but the fact that he stuck to him has managed to surprise everyone.

Dabangg 2 is way beyond action and comedy

Actor Arbaaz Khan, who has turned director with Salman Khan-starrer 'Dabangg 2', says the film is not just minldess action and comedy but has an inherent story that binds all the drama

The film, which will hit theatres on December 21, is the sequel to 'Dabangg' with Salman and Sonakshi reprising their characters of Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo respectively while Prakash Raj is the main antagonist. 

'You would see a lot of style coming along with the action and it would be in the kind of space that Chulbul Pandey as a character and 'Dabangg' as a brand stand for. 'Having said that, while action is an integral part of the film, it would be not more than what is necessary. There is a story running behind all the action.

You just can't have action and more of action. None of it would hold if there is no emotion behind it; for that you need to have a story in a scene or a sequence,' Arbaaz told. The sequel has a sizzling item number 'Fevicol Se' by actress Kareena Kapoor and other numbers are also topping the charts.
Music-composer duo Sajid-Wajid have been roped in this time too for the compositions. 'There are five songs in the movie and while the music of 'Dabangg' was outstanding, Sajid-Wajid have gone ahead and churned out something even better; I genuinely believe that. 

The composers have done a fabulous job,' Arbaaz said. He is happy that the film has created quite a buzz before its release. 'I had to be conscious about the fact that the brand and the character stood for their true worth in the sequel and had something good to offer as well.

I wanted to put the film in a very interesting way and give entertainment along with it. I could never lose sight of the entertainment quotient since that's the most important aspect here,' he said.

I approve my films final cut: Salman Khan

Actor Salman Khan has been delivering back-to-back hits in the Hindi film industry. He says after the failure of his 2010 film "Veer", he makes sure the final cut of any of his films has his approval.

He feels an actor's involvement in creative processes helps sometimes.

"When I put my foot down sometimes, I hope I am not taking advantage of my stardom and that's a big guilt. Eventually, what the audience first watches is only me in the poster, so I will be held responsible for everything, " Salman said here in an interaction.

"So we also have to see that in just being polite, the film doesn't go for a toss. Aamir (Khan) does it very correctly. Now I have started making it clear right in the beginning. I make sure that the final cut goes with my approval. After 'Veer', I have started doing this, " he said.

Salman, who wrote the story for "Veer", admits he wasn't satisfied with the final product that the film turned out to be.

"I was not happy with 'Veer' when they showed me the film. I cut down the film to one hour and 55 minutes, and eventually they released the film as a two hour and 30 minute-film, which is not a done thing.

They thought they will get away with that, but they didn't and I was very upset with the fact because I wrote its script and I knew if it has to be that long, then I need those 18 days of shoot because I needed the high points."

"The scale of the film was very big. So one hour and 55 minutes was a perfect length for it. Till the time it is interesting, it is fine, but the film has to hold (the audience), " he added.

Kai Po Che trailer to release with Dabanng 2

The trailer of Abhishek Kapoor's "Kai Po Che!" will be released with Salman Khan's "Dabangg 2", which hits the screens Dec 21.

Shikha Kapur, executive director, marketing, Studios, Disney UTV, confirmed and said: "Yes, it is true that 'Kai Po Che' trailer is being attached with 'Dabangg 2'.

The film has been passed with a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification.

"Kai Po Che" is based on Chetan Bhagat's novel "The 3 Mistakes of My Life". Set in Gujarat, the film is about three friends and features Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Rajkumar Yadav in key roles.

The title has been derived from a common Gujarati phrase used during Makar Sankranti. It has been entirely shot in the heartland of Gujarat.

Salman cycles around Aishwarya's van

Everyone knows that Salman Khan loves to cycle to keep fit.

But what a birdie saw on Wednesday evening at Mehboob Studios was of particular interest. Sallu was at the studio for Dabangg 2 media interactions while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan happened to be at the same location for an endorsement shoot. Sallu was spotted cycling around Ash's vanity van for quite a while!

Onlookers wondered what would happen if the two crossed paths? But sadly that did not happen and the actress left the venue long after Sallu had. But it's not the first time the two have come close to meeting.
Two weeks ago Ash was at Mehboob Studios while Sallu too was in the vicinity. However, they never crossed paths. What would happen if they did meet face-to-face?

Salman to start shooting for Kick in 2013

Salman Khan confirms shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala's next and a host of other films in the coming year

Come New Year, and people draw up a long list of things to do. But looks like for Salman Khan, his 2013 calendar is already choc-o-bloc with a series of his future film projects. And Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut is one among the many. Salman has officially confirmed that he will start shooting for Nadiadwala's Hindi remake of a South film next year as soon as his film with Sohail Khan gets over. Sohail's film is targeted to hit the theatres during Eid.

Our source says, `Ever since Kick has been announced and Sajid took over the reins as the director from Shirish Kunder, the film has been in news. There have been various rumours floating in the trade suggesting that the film has been shelved.

There was also buzz that all is not well between Sajid and Salman. The two have been friends for many years and Salman is very charged up about his close friend directing a film for the first time.
Salman says, After Dabangg's sequel releases I will start work on Sajid's film around April-May next year. Incidentally Salman has committed to a couple of other films too but is keen that he also starts work on his close friend and mentor Sooraj Barjatya's film soon.

Salman says, There is the sequel of No Entry and Ramesh Taurani's film which are being planned. Barjatya is working on the script. Meanwhile the actor apparently is also looking for a suitable script to produce under his banner Being Human. Looks like 2013 is going to be another busy year for Sallu.

Salman to groove in Gangnam style

Bollywood star Salman Khan, known for setting new dance trends, will groove in South Korean rapper Psy's hit single "Gangnam style" complete with its moves at a forthcoming awards function.

Salman, who made the belt step popular through his film "Dabangg", will take to the stage for the BIG Star Entertainment Awards in Mumbai Sunday.

He will stage three performances during the show. He will first set the floor ablaze with a bevy of belly dancing beauties, then he will show his true-blue "Dabangg 2" style, and he will finally perform "Gangnam style".

The song and its bizarre dance steps became a rage, and actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have also given it a try recently on TV game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati 6".

The song's video also topped YouTube's all-time list of most-viewed videos, the website said last month.

Salman buys Rs 120-crore plot

Sources claim that Bollywood superstar has purchased a sprawling 14,000 sq ft plot to construct his office on it

Sources in the real estate industry claim that the Dabangg actor has sealed the deal for possession of a sprawling 14,000 sq feet plot located at a prime spot in Linking Road, Santacruz After reprising his role as Chulbul Pandey in two successive films, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is all set to reassert his dabang, this time in real life. Word is in from sources in the real estate business that Salman Khan has purchased a plot sprawling over nearly 14, 000 square feet in Linking Road, Santacruz, which has an estimated value of Rs 120 crore.

Parthesh Developers inked the deal some time last month, and the plot will be registered as his property very soon. The superstar is likely to construct an office on the plot. 

The builder was initially tight-lipped about the sale, only letting on that he had been in talks with the actor. I am planning to sell the plot, but talks are on with many people and no money has been exchanged yet,  insisted Nirav Shah. 

However, real estate sources operating in Bandra and Santacruz confirmed that the builder has sold the plot to Khan, who has already made some part of the payment.
Yantrik Society, a ground plus three floors multi-storeyed building that housed 16 flats, occupied the plot earlier. Parthesh Developers bought the plot nearly two years ago, and the building was vacated and demolished in mid-2012.

The builder had plans of erecting another multi-storeyed structure at the spot, but things didn't materialise and so he had put the plot up for sale and was looking for buyers who would purchase it immediately. Salman showed interest and even bought the plot. He now plans to construct a building that would be his office in future,  revealed a broker.

The plot is situated on prime location, touching Linking Road. It has good commercial value, which will increase once the structure comes up. The building can be up to 12 storeys high and a maximum FSI of 2.35 can be availed, which would involve TDR and fungible FSI,  said another realtor.

Khan was unavailable for comment, and a source close to him denied the development.

I might be in court on birthday: Salman Khan

Actor Salman Khan, who gave Bollywood a blockbuster with "Ek Tha Tiger" this year and will hopefully repeat the success with the forthcoming release "Dabangg 2", says he might be in court on his 47th birthday Dec 27 in a 2007 hit-and-run case.

"On Dec 27, I am not doing anything. I am not very sure what I am doing that day. On my birthday, I myself might be in court," Salman told. 

Salman, who has been summoned by a Jodhpur court to appear before it in February in connection with a 1998 poaching case, says he might have a date with the Mumbai court regarding the hit-and-run case. 
"I think they have asked me to come on Dec 27, but if the lawyers say I don't need to go, then I won't go and if the lawyers say, I have to then I will definitely go," he said. 

While many A-list actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan celebrate their birthdays in the presence of the media, Salman says it is something he will never do. 

"It will never happen. Woh fraudgiri mujhse nahi hogi (I can't do that fraud with anyone). I can't do that and I am telling this very frankly - When the media is standing outside my house, with OB vans and all, my mother will make sure that their party happens outside. 
"Not for any other reason, but if the media is there in the party, then the guests get very uncomfortable. SO nobody will be able to have a good time and within five minutes, everybody would want to leave," he said.

Ajay and Salman bond over sandwiches

Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan were seen bonding big time at Mehboob Studios on Wednesday evening

While Sallu was doing his media interactions for his upcoming sequel, Devgn was shooting for Sajid Khan's remake of a yesteryear flick. Both the actors were seen tucking into sandwiches.

Sajid, Vashu Bhagnani and producer Babloo Paschisia also joined in.

Desi Boyz director Rohit Dhawan had also dropped in to meet Salman.
