Shatrughan Sinha keen on film with Big B

Shatrughan Sinha, fondly known as Shotgun, is keen on doing a film with Amitabh Bachchan. The two are said to have discussed various possibilities of coming together, and a project is now being designed for them.

"We haven't worked together since 'Shaan' and 'Kaala Patthar'. It would be really nice to work with him again. He's a good actor and a fine human being," said Shatrughan.

"After my heart surgery, (one of) my first social outing was to his 70th birthday party. I told him I wouldn't have stepped out to such a crowded gathering for anyone else. I broke my golden health rule for a golden human being," he added.

The veteran actor-turned-politician is very impressed by Akshay Kumar.

"He has been very inspiring in his good-health talk. He came here and very humbly told me how important it is to eat sleep and exercise well. I am now on to a different routine altogether. I wake up very early in the morning, go for a long walk.

"I'll be resuming my yoga very soon. Late nights are completely out. Not that I partied late anyway," said the 67-year-old, who underwent surgery earlier this year.

As soon as Shatrughan is back to completely normalcy, he will start a film with Akshay.

"It's a subject that he has been desirous of doing with me for a long time. Akshay came and told me, 'Sir, ab to meri baat maan lijiye (Agree to me now at least)'. I've agreed. But he has laid down a pre-condition. Akshay says our shooting shifts would be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. I am game," he said.

When Shatrughan Sinha met ex- flame Reena Roy

They were a hit jodi in Kalicharan, Vishwanath and a host of films, and they were also a real-life couple before Shatrughan Sinha married Punam Sinha.

Shatrughan Sinha, 10 kilos lighter after his surgery, bumped into his very old friend Reena Roy last week at common friend Pahlaj Nihalani's son's wedding. The two had not met for over 15 years. And according to common friends the lady had put on so much weight that Shatrughan Sinha couldn't recognize her.

Says the common friend, It was funny, because Shatru had lost so much weight and she had gained so much of those pounds. When they met Shatru was a bit puzzled. He was seeing her after nearly 15 years and she had changed quite a lot.
When one asked the ever-forthright actor about the brief encounter he said, Yes we met, like two civil humanbeings. Civil society teaches us to keep social exchanges cordial warm and restrained, although a million storms may be brewing inside.

SOS: Shatrughan to Sonakshi's rescue!

After hearing of daughter Sonakshi's homesickness, Shatrughan Sinha drops in for a surprise visit on 'Son Of Sardar' sets

The entire team of Ajay Devgn's upcoming Diwali release was in for a pleasant surprise when an unexpected guest arrived on the sets at Patiala. It was none other than Shatrughan Sinha, the father of the film's lead actress Sonakshi.

A source from the unit says, Sona was feeling very homesick as she has been having a hectic schedule thanks to constant film promotions and outdoor shooting schedules.

Hearing this, doting father Shatrughan decided to go to Patiala and surprise his daughter in the middle of her shoot. Sonakshi is very close to her father. But due to work commitments and hectic work schedule she was unable to spend time lately with her family.

Apparently after daddy arrived, Sona's happiness knew no bounds. The source adds, Shatruji was very gracious and also spent time with Ajay and everyone else on the sets. He was in a very good mood and was cracking jokes. He also saw some of the scenes that Sonakshi had shot for.

Rajnikanth-Shatrughan Sinha are Health Buddies

Rajnikanth will fly down to Mumbai very shortly, probably within a week, specially to meet his friend, confidante and self-proclaimed inspiration Shatrughan Sinha

The two stylized star-actors go back a long way and have kept tabs on one another's health very closely during the period of their illness. They worked together only once 26 years ago in K C Bokadia's Asli Naqli.

The title is ironical because Shatrughan Sinha and Rajnikanth are seen by their respective fan clubs as spitting images of one another in terms of their acting style. Kaun asli kaun naqli depends entirely on whether the fan is from the North or South.

Ever since they came together to act in Asli Naqli Rajnikanth and Shatrughan Sinha have remained close friends, monitoring one another's moves with brotherly care. In the past two years ever since Rajnikanth fell ill, the two supremos of stylized acting have been closely monitoring one another's health.

Says a source close to Rajnikanth, `First, it was Rajni Sir who fell ill. Then Mr Sinha. Throughout one another's hospitalization they've been keeping close bedside vigil by phone through the wives of the two stars. `

Rajnikanth has apparently gone many steps further than simple curious concern. Based on his own health history during his illness and healing he has given Shtarughan Sinha vital pointers on post-illness diet and regimen.

Says a source close to Shatrughan Sinha, `Since Shatruji's hospitalization Rajni Sir has been religiously ringing up from Chennai and asking Mrs Shatrughan Sinha about his health. And it's not just about the two actors being old colleagues and friends. Rajni Sir feels a close empathy for Mr Sinha because of their sudden health issues that landed them both in hospital. `

Now we hear Rajnikanth would be flying down to Mumbai in the next week or so to specially meet his asli-naqli friend.

Confirming their close affinity and the Southern icon's very private proposed visit to Mumbai to spend time with his friend a source very close friend to Shatrughan Sinha said, `Both Rajni and Shatru are Sagittarians.

Rajni calls Shatru his Guru becase Rajni watched all of Shatru's films when Rajni was a newcomer. Rajni has watched Shatru in Rampur Ka Lakshman 36 times to get a full grip on the mannerisms and gestures of Shatru in the role.

The two are very close to one another. Rajni was waiting for Shatru to come home from hospital. He will now be flying down to spend some time with the actor. `

Shatrughan's first public outing with Sonakshi post-surgery

Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha made his first public appearance ever since his bypass surgery when his daughter Sonakshi took him out to watch a play.

Shatrughan had recently revealed in an interview that he can't defy his daughter's commands, and he happily gave in when Sonakshi asked him to accompany her for a play "Kishen vs Kanhaiya", which has inspired upcoming film "Oh My God".

"Took dad for the play 'Kishen vs Kanhaiya' yesterday... His first outing after the little stint at the hospital," Sonakshi tweeted.

"Outstanding performances by Mr.Paresh Rawal and the cast... We loved it," added the 25-year-old, who has performed an item number "Go go Govinda" in "Oh My God".

Shatrughan underwent bypass surgery July 16. He has been advised rest.

Sonakshi confiscates father's phone, puts him under house curfew

Though Shatrughan Sinha is back home he is not allowed to meet too many guests or use his phone, let alone step out for anything except a morning walk.

And it's not the doctor's order. It's daughter Sonakshi who's taking time off from her busy schedule to be at home with her father to make sure that her father continues to maintain the diet and routine that he did in hospital.

Laughing his trademark laughter and sneaking into his wife's phone without Sonkashi's consent the now-recuperated star-politician said, There's only one woman I'm afraid of. I can't defy any command from my daughter. She has taken away my phones and put me under house arrest.

The actor is happy to be back home. `I've never been away from home for this long. It's been a full 40 days. Not even the longest outdoor shooting of my career stretched that long. Luckily for me my wife was at the hospital 24x7 and my children spent as much time with me as possible. Thanks to my family and my doctors I am born again.
Shatruji gives full marks to his surgeon Dr Anvay Mulay for giving him a new life. We were advised to opt for a more senior surgeon. But we had full faith in Dr Mulay. He made the entire procedure of surgery and recuperation seem like a cakewalk.

He joked to my wife after the surgery, 'I saw many names on his heart when I opened it up. I deleted all of them and left only your name on it.  Little does he know there're secret places in my heart where a surgeon can't enter.

The fast flow of guests at the Sinhas' residence Ramayan has begun. Shatruji is taking it easy. He intends to travel to Patna to spend some time at his ancestral home as soon as he's allowed to travel.

Says Shatruji, I've already sent a letter to Parliament asking for sick leave. As soon as I can travel, or rather my dear daughter would allow me to travel, I want to go home

My Wife, God, Tina Ambani and Akshay Kumar have given me a new Life

12 kilos lighter, many light-years wiser and health-conscious, Shatrughan Sinha is healed and healthy again. Though still in hospital Shatrughan Sinha who was hospitalized with a severe respiratory disorder on 2 July is well on the road to full recovery, and should be out of hospital within a week.

Speaking from the Kokilabehn hospital the star-politician said, By the grace of God, the excellent care taken by all the doctors and staff at this hospital, the good wishes of my fans and friends and most importantly my wife's constant attention and prayers I am now fully recovered, though I'll be in hospital for a few days more for physiotherapy and tests before I am packed home.

Shatruji is all praise for the Kokilabehn's proprietress Tina Ambani.
Says the actor fondly, She is my old colleague and co-star and now she has proven to be a dear friend. I feel so much a home here, thanks to Tina's special supervision. I've the best suite in the hospital with my own terrace.

Who says old ties in our film industry are meaningless? Not only did Tina put her hospital staff on to the task of looking after him she was constantly present to personally supervise my treatment. I am touched. Truly touched.

Another colleague who has won Shatruji's heart is Akshay Kumar. He has been very inspiring in his good-health talk. He came here and very humbly told me how important it is to eat sleep and exercize well.

I am now on to a different routine altogether. I wake up very early in the morning. go for a long walk. I'll be resuming my yoga very soon. Late nights are completely out. Not that I partied late anyway.

As soon as Shatruji is back to completely normalcy he will start a film with Akshay Kumar. `It's a subject that he has been desirous of doing with me for a long time. Akshay came and told me, 'Sir, ab to meri baat maan lijiye. ' I've agreed. But he has laid down a pre-condition. Akhsay says our shooting shifts would be 7 am to 2 pm. I am game.
Re-living the trauma and the triumph of the past one month Shatruji says, `It all started on 2 July when I had difficulty in breathing. It was probably the adulterated paint in our new home that brought on this condition. I was rushed to the hospital.

I was sure I'd be discharged by evening. I dozed off at the hospital. When I opened my eyes I said, 'Let's go home. '

My wife and children looked at each other and at me. They asked me if I knew what the date was. It was then that I got to know that I was oblivious for four days. I has slept on 2 July I woke up on 6 July.

Then again Shatruji's condition took a nosedive on July 16. After tests doctors discovered a couple of blockages in my heart. They said it didn't need urgent remedial surgery. It didn't have to be operated for maybe 3 -4 years.

But since I was in hospital and in that whole mindscape of healing and recuperation we decided to go ahead with the surgery. We had the option of an angiography or a bypass surgery. We opted for the latter.
And now Shatruji says he is as fit as a fiddle. I've never felt better. I am raring to go back to my normal routine. I'll take it easy for a while after I am home again.

The paint at the newly-renovated Sinha residence has been duly changed.

Says the actor gratefully,  The positive outcome of this experience is that I value my wife and my health, in that order much more than before.

Not that I was ever careless. It's a myth created by my well- wishers-if you get what I mean by well-wishers-that I've these long drinking sessions every night with my cronies. I stopped drinking some years ago. I lead a regimented life. I do yoga every morning.

I sleep early and wake up fairly early. I also had medical tests done regularly. So this freak health-hazard has not been caused by negligence and over-indulgence on my part.
Looking at the brighter side of the experience Shatruji says. I got to know how much the film industry loves me. Not just Tina and Akshay, Bachchan Saab, Ramesh Sippy and so many others visited. And to top it all I've lost 12 kgs in the last one month. So the next time you meet me and you if see a baby in my wife's lap don't be surprised if it turns out to be me.

Yup, apna Shotgun is back with blazing guns.

Shatrughan Sinha saw his daughter Sonakshi's item number from 'Oh My God' his hospital bed

Sonakshi Sinha's item number in Akshay Kumar's forthcoming production with Ashwini Yardi was shown to her father Shatrughan Sinha in hospital.

The star dad recently had a bypass at a hospital in Andheri. As he was unable to see the rushes, a special CD of the song was made and shown to Shatrughan on a laptop.

The Khiladi had roped in his lucky charms his Rowdy Rathore co-star as well as Prabhu Deva for the Govinda track in the film based on Paresh Rawal's play.

Shatrughan says, `Popular Govinda numbers like Shor Mach Gaya Shor Dekho Aaya Maakhan Chor and Teen Batti Waala Govinda Aala were filmed on me, so I enjoyed Sonakshi's Go Go Govinda from Akshay's film. I feel fortunate that Govinda songs are all in the family.` Hopefully after seeing the song, he even felt better.
Hopes for double whammy with Akshay

The Actress is hoping that "Joker", her second film with Akshay Kumar, replicates the success of their first movie "Rowdy Rathore".

"If this film gets a push because of our previous film ('Rowdy Rathore'), then it would be a good thing for us and our producers, who are the same, UTV. If a pair has worked then it will definitely benefit in future as well, " two-film-old Sonakshi said here in an interview.

Her "Rowdy Rathore" and "Joker" co-star Akshay says there is no such thing as lucky or unlucky.

"When films work, then everyone becomes a lucky charm. If you (the reporter) also do a character role in our film and it works, then you will also become a lucky charm. Everyone is a lucky charm, " the 44-year-old said.

"It is an artificial thing, lucky or unlucky. Be it a boy or a girl, he is lucky. It's just in your mind, " he added.

Canine Fakhru becomes Shatru in Super Kool

The censorboard has cleared Ekta Kapoor’s new sex comdy with an ‘A’ certificate with 8-9 cuts.

Wonder how our Shatrughan Sinha would react to this. But the dog in Kya Super Kool Hain Hum has been rechristened Shatru instead of Fakhru, at the censorboard’s behest. It may seem super-cool to the makers of Kya Super Kool Hain Hum (KSKHH) to name the canine in the film Fakhruddin or Fakhru, which happens to be the name of the former president of India.

The censors disagree.

The Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFS) has made it explicitly clear that any aspersion or slur or any caste community creed or individual would not be tolerated in the name of humour and comedy.

KSKHH has been ordered to change the canine’s name. The film has also been asked to change some other offensive dialogues before being accorded an ‘Adult’ certificate.

Says the CFBC’s Regional Officer Mumbai J. P. Singh, “They’ve changed the dog’s name from Fakhru to Shatru. Fakhru was not acceptable. ”

Elaborates J P Singh, “We cannot have puns that could offend any community or individual. For example in Kya Super Kool Hain Hum someone enters the venue of a party looks around and quips, ‘Saare Dandekar hain koi Holekar nahin. ’ Sorry, not allowed. Dadekar and Holekar are respected names. ”

KSKHH has also been asked to get rid of the word ‘achhoot’ (untouchable)n being enunciated to sound like ‘a-choot’.

Quips J. P. Singh, “The jokes are of the kind we’ve heard when we were in college. The film is carpeted with puns. We’ve only cut those that hurt any community or people. The word ‘Ram’ has also been. All the cuts are verbal. Visually we’ve blurred alcohol brands, etc. ”
