I can now work at my own pace: Karisma

Actress Karisma Kapoor seems content with her life and says she is enjoying this phase of her life -- professionally at least. Away from the rat race, she is happy that she can pick and choose her projects when she wants.

"I think it is a great situation to be in. I am away from the rat race, from major pressures. I can work at my own pace and do what I like doing. So it's a great thing to be," Karisma told.

The 38-year-old started her Bollywood career in 1991 with "Prem Qaidi" and went on to do successful movies like "Anari", "Raja Babu", "Raja Hindustani" and "Dil To Pagal Hai".

Karisma took a break when she married industrialist Sanjay Kapur in 2003 and is mother to two kids -- daughter Samaira, 7, and Kiaan, 2. She recently made a comeback with Vikram Bhatt's suspense thriller movie "Dangerous Ishhq" earlier this year.

It didn't garner too much success, but that isn't priority for her any longer.

"Success varies in so many ways. I think nothing is more important than my family and my kids. And people ask me that 'You kept away from limelight. Did you love that?' I loved that.

"I am a strong and professional person. So I think my career was important, but I don't think fame and success is everything in the world," she said.

Karisma is caught amid a lot of speculation about her personal life. Her divorce is said to be on the verge of finalisation, and she wants to keep her private life, private.

Asked what thrills her these days, the doting mother said: "I think running behind my kids. That gives me a thrill and taking each day as it comes. I am trying to do my best in whatever I do."

Karisma acknowledges that Bollywood is becoming bolder by the day, but as a mother, she feels it is not harmful for young minds and believes it is the parents' responsibility to monitor the content accessible to their children.

"What is important for parents is to just monitor what kinds of things are children watching through cinema, television or computer. I think that should be censored and monitored," she said.

Karisma's hubby Sanjay's closeness to Priya Chatwal irks family

A birdie from the national capital brings hot fodder from the gossip around Sanjay Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor's hubby

Nope it is not about their state of marriage (that's as old as their marriage in 2003) nor is it about Sanjay's closeness to socialite Priya Chatwal (that's old too!) but about Sanjay's behaviour!

Apparently there was a wedding in the Kapur family recently and Sanjay was keen to get Priya along.

But his folks were adamant to not have her at the family do. Things got so hot that Sanjay even flung a glass of wine at his sister Mandira.
Remember Lolo and Mandira were (or still are?) best buddies.

The birdie also chirps that Sanjay's family has not taken Priya's presence in his life too well. Hmmm..

She has given power packed performances in off beat films such as "Zubeidaa" and "Fiza". After tying the knot with Delhi businessman Sanjay Kapur in 2003, she took a break from arclights and grease paint to start a family. "I always dress up for myself. I love to be myself and that has always stood out. No matter whatever the latest trend or fashion might be, I should feel comfortable with whatever I am wearing.

Coming out Sep 21, director Madhur Bhandarkar's "Heroine" revolves around ups and downs in an actress' career. Kareena plays the title role and the cast also features Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda.

Asked when both sisters will be seen together on screen, Karishna said: "We both have not yet come across any such script. If we get a nice script where both of us have a good role to play, then we will work together. Let's see who comes up with a nice script."
