Neha Sharma gets tanned

During outdoor shoots, the weather can play havoc with an actor's skin. And who knows it better than Neha Sharma!

The actress was at the receiving end of some nasty weather spell while filming a song in the famed sand dunes of Dubai.

The temperature during the afternoon apparently reached to such a worrisome level that Neha and the rest of the crew had to bear the brunt. In fact, the fair-skinned actress suffered a mean tan while shooting for a song with Vivek Oberoi in Vinnil Markan's upcoming crime romance.

Though Neha is a thorough professional, she certainly faced problems while filming the musical sequence. Her skin is apparently sensitive to harsh heat and the light-skinned actress appeared tan within minutes of venturing out under the sun. She patiently worked with the crew and got the job done, says a source.

Kumar Taurani reiterated the challenges the actress overcame and also mentioned the efforts taken by the crew. With the mercury touching 51 degrees Celsius and dry weather.

This made her hair and makeup a task since the climate wasn't conducive to either of them. We had to go back and forth checking every single detail to maintain the continuity, adds the producer.

A birthday bash on sets of Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 in London

Director Sangeeth Sivan turned a year older recently and the occasion was celebrated with great fanfare on the sets of his film in the UK

Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Neha Sharma and other members of the cast apart from the crew got into action mode as they smeared cake on the birthday boy's face. The director was also gifted a painting of Lord Ganesha by his team.

If this wasn't enough, there was a dhol-tasha group too, which pumped up the proceedings with their Punjabi beats!

It seems that the South Indian director has taken to Punjabi in a big way! Last heard, he was even learning Punjabi expletives from his team.

Neha Sharma has a narrow escape!

Actress drove her car into another during the shoot of her upcoming film 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story'

It may be time for Neha Sharma to spruce up her driving skills. Recently, during the shoot of her film, the actress decided to use her own car for a particular sequence. However, thanks to her not-so-good driving, she ended up banging her car.

Our source says that while shooting for her film opposite Vivek Oberoi, Neha was required to be shown driving into a petrol pump, to refuel her car. Since apparently she is not a very good driver, she decided to use her own car for the scene, thinking that driving her own vehicle would be easier.

The source says, But while driving the car, she missed the mark and rammed into the car in front of her. Considering that it was just another car that was part of the same shoot, no one yelled at her. What a narrow escape!

It's Vivek-Mallika Vs Vivek-Neha

Vivek Oberoi's two upcoming films, 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story' and 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli', are set to release on the same day with no change in the date so far but the actor hopes one of the producers will move ahead

While Kumar Taurani has produced 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story', 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli' (KLPD) is Amit Chandra's project and both are keen on October 5 as the release date.

Promotions of KLPD are on while that of 'Jayanta Bhai' is set to begin soon and either producer is yet to move towards a different release date. 

"They (Amit Chandra) may have started promotion now but we too would be beginning by month end. We just need a few weeks of some really intense promotion to get us going. We are not backing out for sure. Our posters are ready, the first cut of the film is in place as well and if there is going to be a clash on October 5 so be it," Kumar Taurani said.

Vivek last had a release two years back when Ram Gopal Varma's 'Rakht Charitra Part I and II' released in quick succession but failed at the box office. The 35-year-old actor is hopeful that there will be an amicable solution. "Of course no one wants a clash. I have spoken to the producers and hopefully one of them will move ahead," he said. 

Amit Chandra understands the situation and empathises with Vivek. "It is not great for two films to release on the same day; it is not going to benefit either Kumarji or me. I have requested him that he moves on and hopefully he would."
"The problem is not just about the same release date, it is also about promotion. If promos of two films run concurrently, that may confuse the audience. There should be a gap between two films of the same hero," Amit said.

However, Taurani feels that since he announced the film's completion first, it was his right to arrive in theatres.

"We were just about to start the publicity of our film when out of nowhere I heard Amit announcing his film's completion. I had said earlier that we could sit across the table and sort it all out. 

"However, he didn't even talk to me and just said that I should move ahead. He wasn't in the mood to listen to me and he announced the arrival of his film as October 5. It has to be seen who amongst the two of us would budge from the stand."

Amit is not ready to move yet as he thinks October 5 is the perfect date for him. "It is a perfect date for me and I am not moving. I am sure Vivek will have a chat with Kumarji and request him to move ahead. No one wants a clash here."

On the sets of first-time director Vennil Markan's new film, the actor decided to pull a fast one on Neha Sharma.

Our source says, For a particular sequence, Vivek was to carry Neha on his shoulders. Vivek kept complaining about a pain in the back. Neha was very careful not to exert pressure on his back. But Vivek started moaning in pain after a while.

The actor even accused Neha of hurting his back.

According to the source, Neha was about to burst into tears when Vivek and the crew told her the truth. Director Vennil says, Neha has no hang-ups. She took everything in a sporting manner.

Sex comedy in B-town: Audiences ready, Censors alert

Sex and comedy sells well in Bollywood. And together, they can make for a hit recipe. But while audiences are ready to sample and savour the genre, sex comedies are few and far in India, given the censors' wariness of them. Hence, filmakers' are apprehensive of investing in the genre.

After experimenting with "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum" back in 2005, Ekta Kapoor is bringing the naughty flavour back with "Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum" July 27. But she faced the brunt with the film's promo itself!

The movie's theatrical trailer had to pass through cuts to make its way as a "boring" and "sanitised" version to the theatres, and Ekta was clearly upset.

"We never had issues in the film's first part. I think our society was so much cooler at that time," Ekta, who is aware her film will get an 'A' certificate, told.
"I think sex comedies in India have gone through a very interesting phase of 'Delhi Belly', through a lot of humour even in 'Love Sex aur Dhokha', then we dealt with adult comedy in a very biopic kind of way in 'The Dirty Picture'. Now I think we have hit a roadblock! My film doesn't even have sexual humour. It is just an adult comedy. 

In the recent past, few films like "Kya Kool...", "Masti", "Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai", "Mumbai Matinee", "No Entry" and "Mirch" touched the sex comedy territory. Sadly, not with stupendous success. But film historian S.M.M. Ausaja notes "this genre hasn't moved beyond the kitschy stuff".

"I remember Basu Chatterjee's 'Shaukeen' to be a good effort, but the same director couldn't recreate the magic with 'Gudgudee'," Ausaja told.

"I feel 'Vicky Donor' was a good effort, though conventionally it wasn't a sex comedy. So I feel there is tremendous scope for sex comedies, but we need intelligent direction and good scripting so that the film escapes the B-Grade cliches and makes a mark," he added. 

Ausaja doesn't blame the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), even though it is wary of letting TV audiences watch such films before the 11 p.m. slot.

"I feel censor board is selective in its approach. The film reaching the censor board, however, is the second step, the first one being the film itself getting made in the mainstream, A-grade genre, which we don't see happening. Even the stars shy away from such films, I don't know what they fear," he said.
Well, at least actors like Riteish Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor definitely don't fear a thing, given the sex comedies they have featured in.

According to Tusshar, the genre has become "cool and trendy". 

"Today, everybody is ready for it. They are accepting all kinds of cinema. Nobody is ashamed or embarrassed to watch a sex comedy. India has opened up and we are being very honest with the publicity of our film," the 35-year-old said. 

In fact, Riteish believes "Kyaa Super Kool..." will get a larger audience as compared to the original 2005 film. 

He said that "the audience has become receptive towards different kinds of films. At that time, the audience bank was small but now it has increased."

Training myself
After I finished my first Telugu film, I realised that I really need to hone my skills. So, I learnt jazz. I also did salsa and street hip hop classes, hip hop being my main focus. 

I didn’t go for ballet because I was too freaked out by it. For ballet, I feel one should start really young to get that flexibility. Apart from this, there are a lot of things that I still want to learn, like pole dancing.

Passion within
There’s something about dance that makes me feel liberated. It’s like nobody’s watching you and you are free. It really gives me a kick and I am passionate about it. Even as a kid, I was the enthusiastic child in class. Whenever my teacher would ask ‘Who wants to go on stage?’ I would be the first one to raise my hand.
Crazy about them
My recent favourite dance number is Chikni Chameli. There’s full-on dancing in this song. As a kid, I was crazy about Le Gayi Le Gayi when Dil Toh Pagal Hai had released. I would dance to it all the time. I like Madhuri’s numbers a lot too. 

Chane Ke Khet Mein was a track that I liked a lot. Another one of my favourite tracks was Humma Humma. It’s just awesome! I like Prabhudeva’s style of dancing. He got the hip hop trend to India and I used to love dancing to songs like Mukabala and Urvashi.

I admire Madhuri Dixit and Katrina Kaif. I think no one can do the Dhak Dhak step better than Madhuri; it’s very sensuous and yet not vulgar.

Is Sanjay miffed with Neha and Sarah's Devdas spoof ?

Sources say that the filmmaker is irritated with the spoofs on 'Devdas' in 'Kya Super Kool Hain Hum'

Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming comedy sequel has pulled a spoof on several films. But looks like the makers have now rubbed Sanjay Leela Bhansali the wrong way with their act on Devdas. Apparently, the filmmaker is not at all amused with this antic.

A source informs us, “Ekta’s upcoming film with Tusshar, Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane is a spoof on Bhansali with the song Dil dola re dola playing in the background. When the director learnt about it, he was not amused. 

Now the same is being used in the promos of the film and Bhansali is very irritated. It is a known fact that he does not take kindly to his films being ridiculed. Earlier too he was very upset with Rohit Shetty for making fun of him and his films in the Golmaal series.” 
Ekta Kapoor says, “A spoof is the best form of flattery. We’ve spoofed as many as five films including The Dirty Picture; so Devdas is no exception. And everyone knows that it’s all in light jest. I don’t think Sanjay will be upset.”

That Fakru, the adorable pug, is as much a hero as Tusshar and Riteish Deshmukh in 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum' is evident.

What next? The film's producers are hosting a birthday bash for the star canine on Wednesday. It's truly a dog's world, as Fakru is being treated to a five star hotel bash to be attended by the film's cast, Tusshar, Riteish Deshmukh, Neha Sharma and Sarah-Jane Dias.

Given that Fakru's voracious sexual appetite is used to support Riteish's livelihood (in the upcoming film), the former will be rewarded for his 'hard work' by being given a massive cake bearing an image of Sunny Leone, the current symbol of ultimate desirability!

Neha Sharma was reluctant to do raunchy Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum

Crook actress Neha Sharma, who plays the second lead in raunchy comedy 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum', says she initially refused to do the film because of its bold content

The 24-year-old stars opposite Tusshar Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh and 'Game' actress Sarah Jane Dias in the movie, which is a sequel to the 2005 film 'Kyaa Kool Hai Hum'. 

"When I read the film's script for the first time, I was shocked. Moreover, Sachin Yardi (director) also forewarned me that whatever was there on paper had to be brought 10 notches higher by performance. I was petrified because the character is nowhere close to me in real life."

"She says things without thinking, mouths double meaning dialogues and does a lot of other stuff that could be considered taboo. My instinctive reaction was to say 'no'," Neha told in an interview. 

But the actress says makers insisted that she spend some more time on the overall prospects of the film instead of taking a hasty decision.

"I decided to go through the script a couple of times more. I also made myself understand that there is certain cinema which the audience wants to watch and hence you have to do that. You might not relate to it entirely but then as an actor it becomes all the more challenging," she added.

The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and has already run into controversies because of its adult content. The movies trailer has also been given an A certificate. Neha, whose Emraam Hashmi starrer 'Crook' failed to create magic at the box office, says one of the reasons to do this film was also that she wanted commercial success.

"As an actor you want hit films. You may do a fantastic job but if a film bombs, people don't recognise your hard work. On the other hand when a film makes money, people notice you regardless of whether you have done a good job or not. 

I chose this film because I knew that the subject would work and bring me commercial success," she said. After 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum', Neha would be seen romancing actor Vivek Oberoi in 'Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story'.

"This is an interesting phase for me as an actor. I love dancing and though in none of my films I have got into a full-on Moulin Rouge mode, I guess the commercial films that I am doing today are the right stepping stones in that direction," she said. 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum' hits the theatres on July 27.

In 2005, "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum" wrote a new chapter in the genre of comedy films and its much awaited sequel promises to tickle our funny bone once again. One gets a feel of it through the soundtrack of "Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum" -- a peppy and funny album, totally in sync with the essence of the movie.

The album starts off with "Dil garden garden ho gaya", which has Vishal Dadlani crooning in his high-pitched voice well supported by modern techno sounds. The track has a very youthful touch and is bound to be noticed. It also has a remixed version, which isn't radically different from the original track.

Some electronic beats have been added to the composition, but the remixed song fails to create the desired effect. It's better to stick with the original.

Next up is "Shirt da button". It is an unusual title for a romantic song. The lyrics are a bit comical, but Sonu Nigam's voice carries the track on its shoulder and delivers it with perfection. Sonu has sung it so beautifully that the song touches you instantly.

The use of handclaps to give it a qawwali feel in between also works well for the composition. It also has a second version, albeit in a slower avatar.


The alternate track has been sung by the soulful Kailash Kher in a mellowed down manner. It has more of a qawwali touch, which takes one back to the song "Tu jaane na" from "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani". It's hard to choose the better one here as both the versions are equally compelling and are an absolute treat to the ears.


"Hum toh hain cappuccino (UP-Bihar lootne)" is a twisted version of Shilpa Shetty's famed dance number "UP-Bihar lootne". It has vocals by Daler Mehndi, Sukhwinder Singh, Swaroop and actor Riteish Deshmukh. 

The song fills you with nostalgia and instantly grows on you with the array of voices that keep you hooked. The song has a very raw feel and has a surprise as Riteish donned the writer's hat and penned the Marathi lyrics for it.

Next up is an out and out dance number titled "Volume high karle". Sung by NeerajSridhar, the song is high on electronic and techno beats, but the lyrics are very ordinary and the composition deserved a better treatment.

It also has a remixed version, which like the original, falls short of expectations. Even with the addition of powerful beats, it doesn't create the desired effect.

The final verdict - the music of "Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum" has some highs and lows, but deserves a hear as it manages to lift your 'kool' quotient.

While most Mumbaikars struggle with deciding what to wear on the streets during the worst of the monsoons, Bollywood actress Neha Sharma never really has had a problem

After all, the fashionista has been a design student at NIFT, Delhi and she tells us her rules for dressing up for the rains.

On a rainy day
Rain fashion to me is dressing simple. Rains also mean a lot of fun, so I go for vibrant colours and fun silhouettes. I could wear a bubble dress in the rains and feel cool about it. I feel more comfortable in shorts. But the rains do inspire me to wear a pretty dress; a floral one in green or pink that goes with the mood.

Colour is the key
Mumbai is a bit humid and hot and so I go for clothes in cotton and chiffon. I have seen women wearing white kurtas and black inners and when it rains the blacks just pop out. That’s a disaster! Heels too are a no- no.

Wind in my hair
I like to keep it easy. Instead of tying my hair up, I want to feel the wind and the rain on my open hair. I like to wear funky colours on my nails, which I like to keep trimmed. And no dramatic make-up, obviously. And of course, the mascara has to be waterproof or else it runs down all over the face.

Bold and bright
I like vibrant colours for my umbrellas. Bright colours always remind me of the monsoons. But I am not much into raincoats. However, the bright yellow raincoats that people wear have always fascinated me. They add colour to the otherwise depressing mood while it’s pouring cats and dogs.

Bag-it!
I would go for plastic handbags instead of leather ones. All my belongings including my wallet and my phone stay safe.

'Neha, Sarah make 'Kya Super Kool Hain Hum' look fresh'

Balaji Motion Pictures' adult-comedy "Kya Super Kool Hain Hum" stars Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias as the female leads and Riteish Deshmukh says that the girls make the sequel look fresh.

"It doesn't feel like we are working with newcomers. Their energy, enthusiasm, freshness has made our film look fresh with a new energy," said the 33-year-old said in an interview.

"They are far more confident. When I did my second film, I was not as confident as them. I wish I was as confident as these two are," he added.

While former Miss India Sarah debuted with "Game" in 2011, Neha was first seen opposite Emran Hashmi in "Crook: It's Good to be bad."

Another male lead of the film, Tusshar Kapoor, believes, "We have got the right girls for the right roles. I think Neha is very much like Simran and Sarah is very much like Anu."

Directed by Sachin Yardi, "Kya Super Kool Hain Hum" is a sequel to the 2005-film "Kya Kool Hain Hum" and hits theatres July 27.

Vivek's 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story' to release in October

Kumar Taurani is excited that his next comedy offering "Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story", which stars Vivek Oberoi, is coming out in October.

"We are happy to announce our next venture 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story' will release in October. The shoots have been on schedule and we are very excited with the way things are shaping up. We can't wait for the film to hit theatres," Taurani of Tips Industries, said in a statement.

Also starring Neha Sharma, the light-hearted comedy follows a gangster's love story. It marks the directorial debut of Vinnil Markan.

About the film, Markan said: "It is about how we fall in love unknowingly with people we least expect to. It is not a westernised clone, but a true Indian rom-com that's light hearted, sensitive and entertaining."

The movie went on floors in March, and the crew expects to complete the filming by July end.

"We finished our first location. Khotachiwadi (in Mumbai) was a beautiful setting and lent itself so perfectly to the scenes. Both Vivek and Neha were extremely supportive of the gruelling schedule," added Markan.
