Sunny Deol goes from serious to playful!

The once reticent Sunny Deol seems to have suddenly shed his inhibitions on sets of 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' 

Sunny Deol is a changed man. The actor, well known in B-Town for maintaining a low profile and being reticent, has suddenly shed his inhibitions. 

The dhai kilo ka haath hitting star is letting himself go and how! He's turned party-hearty and displaying his fun streak to all. The brawn icon has been in England for the past two months shooting with father Dharmendra and brother Bobby for the sequel of their 2011 comic caper.
The buzz from the sets of the Sangeeth Sivan directed film is that he is keen to change his serious tag image. For someone who detested being the centre of attraction, it has come as a surprise to see the Punjab da puttar wanting to be the cynosure of attention! Says a unit source, It is clear that Sunny has become extremely forthcoming. For a man who always shunned media glare, he is now loving the attention and does not mind the publicity blitzkrieg. He is no longer holding back and seems to have decided to go the way the other stars go be in the media glare.
One look at Sunny's recent snapshots amply denote his metamorphosis. On November 1 at his co-star Russia-born model Kristina Akheeva's birthday bash, Sunny was in the thick of things including lifting the birthday belle. He even insisted on plastering the newbie's face with cake.

On his birthday (October 19), Sunny had a blast celebrating his big day as well as when it was director Sivan's birthday in September. As the source says, Sunny has been in the industry for decades, when has anyone seen this side of him in public glare? For a man who guarded his privacy, this is definitely a surprise.
So who is responsible for the changed Sunny? Is it his son Karan (better known as Rocky) who is the AD for the film? Or blame it on the English weather? Whatever (or whoever else) is the reason it's good to see the shy Sunny come out of his shell.

Ameesha, Sunny make a comeback in Singh Sahab - The Great

Filmmaker Anil Sharma, who is bringing back Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol together for a movie after 2001 hit "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", says the new film, titled "Singh Sahab - The Great" will go on floors towards the end of this month.

"'Singh Sahab - The Great' will go on floors by November end and it's a 50-day shoot till Jan 20. We are planning to shoot the film in Bhopal and Indore," Sharma told.

Sharma has maintained a low profile post "Veer", but he is now ready to set the ball rolling with action-comedy "Singh Sahab - The Great".

He is confident the chemistry between Ameesha and Sunny will work in favour of his movie.

"Sunny and Ameesha look good together. They both got good reviews for their chemistry in 'Gadar...'. Ameesha is a good friend and I am sure they will recreate the same magic on the silver screen. They both have good roles in this film," said Sharma.

Talking further about the film, he said: "'Singh Sahab - The Great' is a satire. The film has entertainment, action and a mix of everything. This film will be one of Sunny's finest roles."

The director, who has also directed movies like "Apne" and "Madhoshi", says his 2003 film "The Hero: Love Story of a Spy", has a scope for sequel.

"I don't want to make a sequel just for the heck of it. I feel the stories of 'Gadar...' and 'Veer' have ended. My film 'The Hero: Love Story of a Spy' has a scope for sequel. Maybe in future I can think about it," he said.

Sunny gets funny, again

Sunny Deol was up to some funny antics during the shooting of "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" in London when he shot some spins in a yellow-coloured Lamborghini. The muscular actor tried to break a scissor door of the luxury sports car.

"Sunny was recently spotted on the sets of the film, the sequel to 2011 film 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', driving around in a Lamborghini. He dutifully completed the shot, which required him to take the car out for a spin. However, once the shot was canned, he was in his elements, " said a source.

"The actor was trying to break one of the scissor doors of this swanky car, much to the amusement of the crew. A passionate lover of cars, Sunny was only fooling around, " added the source.

"Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" features the Deol trio - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby - along with Neha Sharma, Kristina Akheeva, Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, Johnny Lever and Sucheta Khanna.

The actor is still remembered for his handpump scene in "Gadar - Ek Prem Katha".

After Hand-Pump, it's Car Doors for Sunny Deol!

The Deols are having a ball at the 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' shoot in UK. While the director Sangeeth Sivan, who recently turned a year older, has already attuned himself to the Punjabi culture, the rest of the cast and crew is having a blast over there.

Needless to say, Sunny Deol too wants to have his share of excitement. The actor was recently spotted on the sets of the film, the sequel to 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', driving around in a beautiful, bright yellow Lamborghini. Sunny dutifully completed the shot which required him to take the car out for a spin. However, once the shot was canned, Sunny was up to his antics.

The actor was trying to break one of the scissor doors of this swanky car, much to the amusement of the crew. We're sure that Deol, who is known to be a passionate lover of cars, must only be fooling around. We don't think Sunny will ever have the heart to damage a Lamborghini! Anyway, the rest of the cast and the crew had a field day talking about the incident.

So, the fun and games continue on the sets of 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2'!

A birthday bash on sets of Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 in London

Director Sangeeth Sivan turned a year older recently and the occasion was celebrated with great fanfare on the sets of his film in the UK

Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Neha Sharma and other members of the cast apart from the crew got into action mode as they smeared cake on the birthday boy's face. The director was also gifted a painting of Lord Ganesha by his team.

If this wasn't enough, there was a dhol-tasha group too, which pumped up the proceedings with their Punjabi beats!

It seems that the South Indian director has taken to Punjabi in a big way! Last heard, he was even learning Punjabi expletives from his team.

Stranded! Sunny-Kangna starrer denied shooting at New York Airport

The Sunny Deol-Kangna Ranaut starrer I Love New York which was shot entirely in New York is 95 percent complete. 

In fact it has been 95 percent complete for the last 1 1/2 years. So what 's stopping the film from pushing to the finishing line? 

According to a source close to the project it's money issues involving Sunny Deol's payment and the producers' T Series apparently selling off the satellite rights of the film at a much lower price than what Deol starrers generally fetch, that are the twin issues between Deol and the film's makers. 

However the film's producer Bhushan Kumar and the co-director Vinay Sapru vehemently deny that Deol is in any way responsible for the delay. 

According to Sapru, the reason the film is held up is the climax. 
Says Sapru, We shot the entire film on location in New York. Then we needed to shoot the climax at the FFK international airport. Despite our best efforts we couldn't pull that off. We were told it would he a miracle if we eventually get the green signal to shoot at the NY airport. But we decided to wait for the miracle to happen. 

Finally now, the film's makers have given up hope. The airport sequence would have to be fudged. They will now shoot it at the Bangkok airport and pass it off as the JFK airport. 

Vinay Sapru is hopeful no one would be able to tell the difference. You see, the topography of New York is a model for every super- metropolis in the world. Bangkok is like a replica of New York, including the airport. So no one would be able to tell the difference.

Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 finally gets going in London

The Deols begin shooting in London

Director Sangeeth Sivan will finally begin shooting a long schedule of Yamla Pagla Deewana (YPD) 2 in London from September 5. The film stars the Deols - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby - who will reprise their roles of Dharam, Paramvir and Gajodhar.

Maintaining the spirit of the first part of YPD, the second one has a totally different story laced with comedy and thrills. Dharmendra's character has him performing with the emotional grit of Anupama and the spontaneity of Chupke Chupke.

Says a source, The Deols share an excellent rapport with Sangeeth Sivan. The film, though showcasing foreign locales, will have a rare Indianness about it. A while ago, the stars were in London scouting for locations. Though delayed, the project is finally rolling.

Though the sequel was announced immediately after the film released in January 2011, it has taken the Deols one and half years to get going. Samir Karnik directed the first outing and there was buzz that Rahul Rawail would direct the second part, but finally Sivan was roped in.

The film also marks the third time that the Deol family is cast together after Apne (2007) and YPD. The film's title is inspired from the song Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana from Dharam's 1975 film Pratigya.

Ameesha, Sunny in new avatar for Bhaiyyaji Superhitt

Actress Ameesha Patel is enjoying working with her "Gadar - Ek Prem Katha" co-star Sunny Deol after over a decade for "Bhaiyyaji Superhitt", and says the audience will get to see a new side of them in the new movie.

"After (over) 10 years Sunny (Deol) and I comeback post 'Gadar' for 'Bhaiyyaji Superhitt' and the film is turning out phenomenal. It's got Sunny and me in a completely new avatar," Ameesha said here.

"It's not like 'Gadar Part 2'. It's a comedy, it's a masala film and it's got Sunny in a double role... So that's really exciting," added the 37-year-old.

Ameesha is herself set to play a double role in her home production "Desi Magic". She will begin working on it towards October end or November, while she has other projects to concentrate on too.

"Right now I have got another two films lined up which we will be announced very soon," she added.

Ameesha made her Bollywood debut with "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai" in 2000.

Sunny Deol's Ghayal Returns not shelved

Director Rahul Rawail has dismissed reports that Sunny Deol starrer 'Ghayal Returns' has hit a roadblock and said he is currently working on the script. "The sequel will definitely be made. I am working on the script

I can't talk about the film or any other details related to the project," director Rahul Rawail told. Earlier Sunny had roped in Ashwini Chaudhury of "Jodi Breakers" fame to direct "Ghayal Returns". But due to some disagreements between Sunny and Ashwini, the association did not materialise.

Sunny then handed over the project to director Rahul, with whom he had worked 12 years ago in "Arjun Pandit". "Ghayal Returns" is a sequel to 1990 hit action film "Ghayal" which had Sunny and Meenakshi Seshadri in the lead. "Both Sunny and Rahul did not want to go ahead with the story that Ashwini had penned.

So, Rahul is working on a fresh story which is different from what Ashwini had conceptualised," a source close the project said. The sequel is likely to go on floors next year.

"Rahul had several ideas about 'Ghayal Returns' and Sunny has selected one. Rahul is working on the idea. To develop a good story will take time, say about six months or so," the source added.

There was a buzz that Vidya Balan and Bipasha Basu were approached for 'Ghayal Returns'. As of now only, Sunny has been finalised for the sequel, the makers have not zeroed in on the leading lady. "Once Rahul is done with his script then we will approach the actress," the source said.

The composer is gung-ho about scoring for Sunny Deol's upcoming film

Anu Malik who is scoring the music for Anil Sharma’s upcoming film with Sunny Deol is looking forward to begin work on it. The film has a Punjab setting and the composer is gung-ho to create some stellar tunes.

Says Malik, “As the film has a rustic storyline, it gives me a chance to score something unique. It’s a project that excited me as it provides scope for some memorable tunes.”

He adds, “Sunny is a dear friend and I have known Anil too for long. When Anil called me and told me about the project there was that click factor that worked. I can’t wait to begin work on it.”

The versatile composer who’s been there and done it all is now extremely choosy about the projects he wants to be associated with. He is as comfortable creating music for films like Border and Refugee to Asoka and Om Shanti Om.

Anu now wants to take on projects that really excite him. He has also composed the music for an upcoming film, which stars newbies Nazia Hussain and Aditya Samanta.

One more blow to 'Ghayal 2', Piyush Mishra quits

Sunny Deol’s magnum opus sequel runs into troubled waters again as actor-writer Piyush Mishra quits the project 

It looks like Sunny Deol is having a really unlucky streak in the industry. His 2008 film The Man has still not seen the light of the day. I love NY and Mohalla Assi both are completed but are stuck for release. The first schedule of Bhaiyyaji Superhit has been shot after much delay.

Even his TV show failed to take off. Now the latest news is that Sunny’s magnum opus Ghayal 2 has hit yet another roadblock. The writer (screenplay and dialogue) of the film Piyush Mishra has quit the project. 

Sources say that Piyush, who has written for films like Ghajini, Agneepath and Yahaan, walked out of the project due to his differences with director Rahul Rawail. The writer had been given the job of penning Ghayal 2, that was being touted as Sunny’ return to the big screen as an action hero.

Piyush confirms our news and says, “Yes, I have quit the film.” Our sources tell us that the differences between Rawail and Piyush arose when the writer wanted to Sunny to take an active part in contributing to the script and Rawail objected to that. 

Our source tells us, “Rawail kept saying Sunny would okay everything that he wanted and kept on asking Piyush to make changes. Finally, Piyush got irked and decided to opt out.” So, while the teaser of the film was released with Salman Khan’s Ready in June 2011, it looks like the final cut is still some time away.

Dharmendra talks about his item no ‘Pal Pal Na Maane Tinku Jiya'

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who will be seen shaking a leg in popular number ‘Pal Pal Na Maane Tinku Jiya’ in his next release says he is comfortable doing such songs. “It was easy for me to do the item song. I was very much comfortable doing it. Once the camera is on I am easy to open.

If I would have been uncomfortable then I wouldn’t have been in the industry since last 50 years or so,” Dharmendra said. After Malaika Arora’s ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ and Katrina Kaif’s ‘Shiela Ki Jawani’, now its ‘Pal Pal...’ from ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’, which is climbing high on the countdown chart.

Directed by Samir Karnik, the film, releasing on January 14, is a comedy of confusion where the Deols — Sunny, Bobby and Dharmendra — will be seen in a never seen avatar. “Since the promos have been released we are getting good reviews about the film. We hope that ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ turns out to be the biggest hit,” the 75-year-old actor said.

Meanwhile, Dharmendra and Sunny Deol have launched an entertainment portal. The website is a one—stop portal for tickets to movies, concerts, plays and sports events. It enables people to buy tickets, see film reviews, celebrity news, gossip, celebrity blogs, photographs and videos. Actor Ajay Devgn was the first one to buy the tickets of Dharmendra’s home production.

“We have been working on it for the past one year with a team. When they came to me with the concept I liked the idea found it interesting and agreed it to be a part of it,” Ajay said.
