Shilpa raises toast to Jackson brother

Shilpa Shetty is a true friend. The leggy beauty hosted a dinner for late Michael Jackson's brother, Jermaine, at her home in Mumbai.

The two had become good friends when Shilpa faced fierce racist attacks on the Celebrity Big Brother show in the UK." I met Jermaine Jackson and Halima his wife.

After nearly three years, strange timing of coincidences - my sister ( Shamita) going into Bigg Boss and I meeting my ex- Big Brother housemate on the same day!" writes the actress on her blog.

Interestingly, Shilpa and Jermaine tried to "figure out the uncanny connection" on the day when her younger sister Shamita entered the Bigg Boss house as a contestant. Shilpa had hosted the Bigg Boss Season 2 last year.

"We celebrated it over dinner at my place, got nostalgic over our experiences in the BB house. It had been so long but we picked up from where we left, one thing being constant - our friendship, so was happy on that front," she adds.

Shilpa respects Jermaine a lot ever since he became her emotional support amid racial attacks by their Big Brother co- contestant - the late Jade Goody. The two have been in constant touch. She also tried to meet him during Jade's funeral.

The actress has been thrilled to know that Jermaine is in India to record an album with Adnan Sami. Besides Shilpa, her London- based fiancé Raj Kundra, mother Sunanda and a couple of friends too welcomed Jermaine at her new house.

The song which Jermaine will be recording, the buzz goes, will be dedicated to Mumbai as a sign of tribute to the city that hosted Michael Jackson in 1996. Titled Let's Go to Mumbai City, the song is being composed by Adnan Sami.

Reports suggest Jermaine will be seen singing in several Mumbai locations like Haji Ali, Gateway of India and Marine Drive. Jermaine's shoot will also show him shaking a leg on Mumbai public transport and in the slums.

Meanwhile, Shilpa claims she is missing her sister Shamita. She quickly reached Mumbai from London to spend the last two days before Shamita left and even "tried to dissuade her, considering she'll be away for three months if she lasts!".

"She had her reasons to take part, felt it was a great opportunity to test herself and her level of patience. Must say she's been very brave 'cause trust me, it takes a lot of gumption considering she's an introvert and very private, but nevertheless friendly," she wraps up.

"(I) Will miss being part of this season but am sure that one Shetty in the House will more than make up for me. Sure this experience will be a learning curve," writes Shilpa, adding Amitabh Bachchan's "panache is unmatched" as a host.
