Katrina-Kareena : friends again?

Bollywood is strange, so are the stars. After listening to what the sweet Katrina Kaif had to say about her, Kareena seems to have forgotten all the rivalry or jealous that was sprouting among them.Recently Katrina presented her compliments on Bebo’s performances and professional attitude.

Listening to this Kareena seems to be quite appreciative and in return wants to thank Katie. Knowing Bollywood, it friendships, its jilts, its rivalries, it would be wrong to say that this is the beginning of a friendship between Kareena and Katrina, but this definitely give positive vibes as both drop weapons.

Emraan Hashmi can't buy a house in Pali Hill

Bollywood serial kisser Emraan Hashmi has became a victim of discrimination here in the tinsel city. The Bollywood actor denied permission to buy an apartment in Posh Pali Hill locality in the city.

The Pali Hill's Nibbana Cooperative Society politely blocked the sale to Hashmi saying that society will not give NOC to him.

A disappointed actor said he was denied permission because of belonging to a minority community. “The housing society is discriminating against him because he is a Muslim,” the actor said.

However, on-screen Kissing King has approached state minority commission against the discrimination and lodged a complaint in this regard.

Where Mallika is seen wishing PC for her continued success, PC is wishing Mallika the very best for her film Hisss.

'I am not a rock star'

Though her debut movie Luck wasn't so lucky for her, Shruti Haasan didn't go unnoticed. The actress who also sang in Soham Shah's movie looked striking though she could have opted for a better launch vehicle.

She spoke to Nithya Ramani about her rock band, her take on love and relationships, and who she thinks is the most dishiest actor in Bollywood. Excerpts: How has life changed since Luck? It hasn't changed. I am as excited and happy as I was the first day I decided to be an artist. I get to meet new people and do fun stuff.

This is your debut. How was the experience from first day to last of shooting Luck? Awesome and nerve-wrecking at times. I was debuting and wondered what I was doing here, if I could pull this off, shooting with creatures that were at any point ready to bite off a limb. It was all in all very exciting to have had that opportunity.

You are a rock star. How did acting come your way? I am not a rock star. I am averse to that word. I am a musician, I play the piano and have learnt all kinds of music. Right now the band is in a transitionary phase and I am looking out for new musicians. I am very excited about the new music that is going to come out.

Being an entertainer, any form of entertainment has always my calling. I was studying music in Los Angeles. I also acted in a few shows and enjoyed it. I realised it was something I could do. I then started thinking about it seriously, started looking at scripts and meeting people.

What are you favourite songs? There have been so many songs in the history of Indian cinema that it will be unfair to choose just a few. What is your take on love and relationships? Love is important and it does make the world go round. And why it is so great is because there are so many different kinds of love. It is a very unique and powerful emotion.

Who are your favourite actors? There are so many. People think I am being diplomatic but I truly cannot pick one. Who do you think are the dishiest actors in Bollywood? I think Shah Rukh Khan. He is magnificent.

It is Sanjay Dutt's birthday today. Do you have anything to say? How was your experience of working with him? I am not the kind who can wish someone on camera. As far as working with him is concerned, it was amazing.

He has been working in this industry for so long and has such a powerful persona that I learnt a lot just from watching him. He is very polite and quiet on the sets. He is very easy to work with. He doesn't look like he is 50. The monsoon is finally here. What is your favourite memory of the rains? I like the rains. I like to sit indoors and read a book. You can also watch The Godfather because it is just a fabulous film ever made.

Saif-Kareena on a kissing spree

Can you name the most kissed couple in Bollywood? No prizes for guessing! Lovebirds Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are on a kissing spree of late, and that too with other actors.

Yes, Saif-Kareena have kissed 15 times in just two films. Just on the heels of Kareena kissing Akshay Kumar 10 times in their recently released film Kambakkht Ishq, Saif is said to have kissed Deepika Padukone five times in their film Love Aaj Kal which is set for release tomorrow.

Kareena defended her kisses, saying that the script demanded it. Nobody complaint following the good opening the film witnessed.

Now, the question is whether Saif's kisses will pull in the crowds to the theatres. You don't have to wait for too long for the final verdict will be out tomorrow when it hits the theatres.

Sanjay Dutt pooh poohs problems with Imran Khan

On his birthday, which falls on July 29, Sanjay Dutt feels very charitable towards those who have apparently not been kind to him. Shrugging off stories of Imran Khan undercutting his role in Luck, Sanjay says, “Imran is like a little child.

He was very respectful through the two films we’ve done together. He’s a good actor. I wish him luck and I want him to grow into an actor as big as his uncle (Aamir). Imran is too young to create problems for me.”

Sanjay says he did Luck for a lark. “I did it just to help Soham Shah. I really didn’t have the time or date. I told him to just cast me in a small role, which would finish quickly.

In fact the role shaped up bigger than planned. As long as it makes some money and no one loses any, I’m happy.” Hours before his birthday Sanjay is chilled out.

But he has regrets about not being able to be near Amar Singh on his birthday. “I couldn’t even visit Amar Singhji because by the time the visa materialized the surgery was over. My wife Maanyata was there. But I speak to him everyday. He’s out of the hospital now. He sounds better. I’ve seen his health deteriorate during the election campaigns.

God gave me an opportunity to look after my elder brother during the elections. I’m glad I was around. I can’t do ads or work within corporate sectors, because I am a convict.” But cheering up Sanjay says, “I heard Bunty Walia is coming. Everything he does is announced on Facebook. So he has announced he’s coming for my birthday.”

Aishwarya to crack down on the false stories about her private life

Upset over "fabricated" media stories about her private life, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has threatened legal action against those responsible, a statement issued by her publicist said Thursday.

"Certain sections of the press have been behaving in a callous manner and have been putting together articles or pieces without any semblance of truth and furthermore they have been attributing quotes to the actor which are baseless and false.

Previously our client preferred to remain silent to let better sense prevail be it the news when she was married off to a tree or otherwise. This silence should not be misconstrued as a weakness, " the statement read.

The statement was issued to counter an article titled "Career more important than family" by a website where one of the quotes attributed to the actress read:

"If I want to remain in the film industry then I need to stay fit", that implied that she will not have children. The article also stated that her actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan was in agreement with her stand.

"She is one actress who never made any statements that her marriage can wait and she will focus on her career. When she did, she got her family's blessings and got married in the middle of a film and has been a thorough professional even after her wedding, " the statement said.

"We must not forget that besides being a star in every right Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is about a daughter, a wife, and a daughter in law, a symbol of our tradition and she has always believed and practiced values that govern our society. Irresponsible statements about her private life will not be left to grow without a strong rebuttal, " it added.

The statement also warned of strict legal action against those behind such stories about the 35-year-old. "This may be read and understood in no uncertain terms that hence forth we would be forced to take legal recourse in any such event of a piece or article appearing without any credibility or which is an absolute fabrication of one's imagination... We must respect Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for her stand to remain silent on such baseless rumors but it would be wrong to use her name to further a personal cause or career, " it read.

Vidya Balan signed up for Yash Chopras next?

There is a strong buzz in the industry circles that Vidya Balan has been signed by Yash Chopra for his directorial next. It is the same project which was supposed to star Aamir Khan along with Preity Zinta. But while, Aamir is still being non-committal about being approached for the project, other news making the rounds is that Preity has been replaced by Vidya Balan.

Sources are claiming that it is a love story spanning ages, but is completely different to what Chopra’s last directorial effort Veer Zara was. Incidentally, Veer Zara also had its lead pair Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta playing characters both young and old.

Sources further claim that Yash Chopra intends to begin this film by early 2010 and make it a grand Diwali 2010 release. He will be finally directing a film after 6 years since he directed Veer Zara (2004).

While there has been no confirmation from both Vidya Balan or Yash Raj Films yet, we can only imagine right now what crackling chemistry it would be of Aamir and Vidya, and to top it all with romance king Yash Chopra directing it.

Friendship - a hit recipe in Bollywood

Before "Dil Chahta Hai" happened in 2001, romance and action thrillers were ruling the roost in Bollywood.

But the film about three urban youngsters not only proved to be a huge hit, it also brought the theme of friendship back in vogue.

"New York" is the latest film successfully exploring bonding among friends. It comes after last year's three big hits -

"Dostana", "Rock On!" and "Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na" - which also revolved around changing equations among pals.

Filmmaker Kabir Khan, who gave this year's first big hit "New York", said: "Friendship is an interesting human bond and this as a theme lends scope to have many interesting situations and stories. It is a very interesting relationship to explore.

"When you have the theme of marriage, then you might get stuck somewhere but with the subject of friends, the opportunities are immense and many interesting stories and angles can be given to the film," he told IANS.

"However, what is of prime importance is that the film is made well. If the film is not made well then no theme can work, whether friendship or something else," he added. Starring John Abraham, Katrina Kaif and Neil Nitin Mukesh, "New York" narrated the story of three friends.

But Bollywood has experimented with the theme earlier in melodramatic movies like "Dosti" (1964), a sentimental drama on the friendship between two people - one blind and the other crippled - and "Sangam" (1964), where two friends - Raj Kapoor and Rajendra Kumar - fall in love with the same girl (Vyjayanthimala).

Action-oriented films like "Sholay", "Dostana" and "Yaarana" too had friendship as an integral part of the storyline. It was young filmmaker Farhan Akhtar who gave male-bonding a new definition with his superhit "Dil Chahta Hai", which starred Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan. Their performances as chilled out urban youth struck the right chord with the multiplex audience.

In 2007, Govinda- and Salman Khan-starrer "Partner", a light-hearted romantic comedy, went on to be a huge box office success. In the recent past, filmmakers have explored the bond successfully in blockbusters like "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Jhankaar Beats", "Masti", "Mirch Masala", "Rang De Basanti" and "Heyy Baby". These films were light-hearted and thoroughly entertained the viewers.

Mumbai-based film historian S.M.M. Ausaja feels people identify with such films and that's why they work at the box office. "Over the years, films on friendship have done quite well, with films like 'Dosti', 'Yaarana' and of course 'Sholay' being landmarks in this genre. The main reason for their success is that people identify with such subjects. When such themes are explored in movies, they mostly make a mark," he explained.

Film critic Omar Qureshi agreed: "Films with which people can identify always work. Everyone can connect with films that revolve around friendships because everyone has a friend. There is no one who doesn't have a single friend.

"When the audience can relate to the situations in the film, they get interested in the story. Thus, friendship films have been hits mostly." Geetika Joshi, a 19-year-old college student, feels films like "Jaane Tu..." or "Rang De Basanti" have more appeal because of the friendship angle rather than out-and-out love stories.

"I like films based on friends more. After all friends are such an integral part of our lives today. I go and watch such films with my pals and have a ball. These are light-hearted and have a fun element," she said. "Films on friends are young, hip and very us, they represent our generation. I love such films," said Uday Goswami, a BPO employee.

Shahrukh ends his cold war with Aishwarya

Shahrukh Khan is all set to end his seven year old cold war with Aishwarya Bachchan. If sources inside the industry are to be believed Shahrukh plans to cast Aishwarya in his next home production. The two stars who had delivered blockbusters like Mohabbatein and Devdas had fallen apart on the sets of Chalte Chalte after Aishwarya was ousted from the movie and replaced by Rani Mukherjee.

It was then being rumoured that Salman Khan who had just been dumped by Aishwarya created a lot of ruckus on the sets. The movie was going nowhere with Salman's behaviour and Shahrukh who was producing the movie finally decided to oust Aishwarya from it. Since then the two stars have not been in talking terms and engaged in a cold war.

But things are now looking positive as the SRK and Ash have decided to bury their hatchets. Recently during Karan Johar's birthday party Shahrukh had apologised to Aishwarya for having wronged her. Later Aishwarya along with Abhishek was seen dancing with Shahrukh and his wife Gauri. The director for the movie hasn't be chosen as yet but the colossal stars will surely be together on the screen.

Nigar's bikini shakes up the Jungle!

After Shweta Tiwari quit the show, many thought that Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao will stop sizzling, sans her bosom displays and swimsuit shots. But there is a twist. Yesterday's episode saw the entrance of a new hottie Nigar Khan.

Remember, the item girl who did remix videos (Chadti Jawani) and was deported from India for not carrying a work permit. While she may not be allowed to enter India but she's there for all to see on the reality TV show being shot in jungles of Malaysia. But more than the audience, she came as a breath of fresh air for the men on the show, especially for actor Akashdeep Sehgal.

Right after her entry, Akashdeep turned into an ever cheerful, super funny, boisterous guy. Though he did manage to get 'close', all the men on the show got an eyeful when Nigar woke up early in the morning and wrapped herself in a towel and headed off to the bathing area, wearing the tiniest of bikinis. Let's see what's more in store with this hottie around!

Kareena Kapoor is now International demand. .

After her popular Bebo Mein Bebo act in Kambakkht Ishq Kareena of Bollywood has been involved in international stage shows that were once a fixture every season. She has won a lot more admirers across continents and has prompted foreign show promoters to plan a string of stage shows revolving around her.

They have gotten in touch with local show organisers and have planned a three-stage world tour on US, Europe and South African shores according to our sources. And they have even chalked out a deal for Bebo that they feel she can’t refuse. If things work out, this will be the first time an Indian actress is doing a series of shows around the world. The only glitch is that Kareena has no dates and is busy through the next year. But the event organisers are hopeful that she’d make some time for them to spread some cheer in the industry and her fans.

Shilpa Shetty launches spa in Mumbai

The 34-year old actress further added that the wellness and beauty industry is growing and her idea behind the medi spa is to help people rediscover them.

Besides Rekha, Shilpa's close pals and Bollywood actresses Pooja Batra and Sushmita Sen were also present during the occasion. This is a joint venture of Shilpa Shetty and well-known entrepreneur Kiran Bawa.

Negar Khan Set To Steam Up The Jungles Of Malaysia

In other sizzling reality news from around the world, model and actress Negar Khan is slated to be sent to the jungle set of Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao.

The hottest story on Google India, and perhaps the best thing that every happened to the ailing reality show, Khan should spice things up a bit for the weary audience, at least that is what the producers hope any way.

From this writer’s point of view, I am wondering why the hit show Survivor did not get Negar instead of some of the aging starlets feartured in their celebrity versions.

Perhaps American celebs are just whimps? As for Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, the show appears a lot better than some of Bollywood’s other entires. I sure hope Negar fares better than some other models.

The India version of British reality show “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here”, this version has had its problems according to the Insider.

Contestants complaining and quitting being the least of the show’s woes, even Negar had initial problems getting her visa straightened out to be on the popular series. Now the forests of Malaysia will play host to Negar, who’s most appropriate prior role may have been as a seductive pole dancer in Double Cross.

The Indian audience will likely be a seduced, given the popularity of the show and Neda in the news today. For Bollywood, and all those TV viewers looking for a little “untamed” entertainment, at least it should be interesting to see if Negar can handle the cuisine so many others complained about. Along with that, watching a lovely model do arduous tasks has to rate high for the show’s targeted demographic, who can start lighting up the SMS voting soon.

For those fans who cannot wait, we thought we would give a preview of Negar from her role as a pole dancer. We will leave it up to the reader’s imagination as to how pole dancing might be employed in the jungle. As for PR moves, the producers of this reality show appear to have come to grips with what their audience wants. At least this is the way it appears as the stories of Negar pile up in Google and Yahoo news.

Shahid reveals his ideal girl!

Shahid Kapoor, heartthrob of a million young females gets candid in a chat about his ideal girl. Though he may have been linked up with many like Sania Mirza, Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra and now Anushka Sharma, but still the star maintains that he is yet to find his dream woman.

Elaborating on how his dream girl should be, the actor briefs, “She should be able to connect with me emotionally and on a day to day life.

The girl should be different, but not to the extent that things doesn’t work out. Last but not the least, I know I would accept her the way she is.”

When asked about, would he tell his girlfriend to turn vegetarian, the actor quickly replies, “If she tells me to eat non vegetarian, I would not like it.

Similarly, I would not tell her to leave non veg if she likes to eat that. Anyways this is a personal decision,” he adds.

Shahid has become very shy to media when it comes to talk about his personal life. “I had a public break-up, but now I am very private about my personal life.

It became too public and difficult to handle. When there is something substantial, people will come to know about it,” he concludes. With the list of linkups, it seems the journey of Shahid is going to be a long one.

Rani Mukherjee turns to God for success

One has often heard of Govinda’s obsession for puja’s and superstitions but now we hear that Rani Mukherjee has gone the same way. She is constantly hanging on to superstitions and rituals to keep her anxieties at bay if sources' claims are to be believed.Buzz up!

Rani Mukherjee had been going through bad times. Rani’s father was also not keeping well. However, things are looking upbeats since her next, the Yash Raj Films' production Dil Bole Hadippa opposite Shahid Kapoor is all set for release.

The actress, who was at the peak of her career a few years ago with releases like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black, Yash Raj's Veer Zaara and Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, suddenly seems to have come up against a wall. Her talent is not really in question, but her luck and choice of films is.

After Black, instead of going for a variety of roles which would showcase her talent, Rani Mukherjee chose to stick to Yash Raj banners alone - with films like Laaga Chunri Mein Daag and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Bhansali's Saawariya did nothing to improve matters. The actress has sought divine help to overcome all the obstacles.

Rani is believed to have undertaken a fast on every Thursday for 40 weeks, followed by a pooja at the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi. The actress has already been at it for the last three months. We just hope for her sake that it all works out fine for her. But things just may change and maybe Rani will again become the queen of hearts and the box office.

Bipasha's Hollywood dream comes to an end

Just few days back there were tabloid reports about Bipasha Basu’s first Hollywood project starring Titanic villain Billy Zane, going on floors. But now news has trickled in that the project is being scrapped. It was supposed to begin shooting on July 25th. It is learnt that producer Smita Thackeray had backed out with reasons being cited as personal and professional.

This yet to be titled film was to be directed by David Silverman and was to feature Bipasha in Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft avatar. It was supposed to be shot in Kodaikanal and had actor Rajvirr of Kaise Kahen (2007) fame playing Bipasha’s second love interest. The film was to have Bipasha doing some intense love making scenes with both Billy and Rajvirr. Rumour mills suggest- the choice of Rajvirr as the male lead wasn’t appreciated but Smita Thackeray was adamant about him playing the role.

However now that Smita has backed out from the film, it only means that for now Bipasha’s dream of going international has come to a standstill, at least for now. Though for a long time both Bipasha and her boyfriend John Abraham have been trying to go international, they haven't succeeded.

Katrina Kaif finally beats Aishwarya Rai

Google has come out with the list of celebs that have topped their search engine all over India and it turned out that Katrina Kaif has pummeled Aishwarya Rai.

Katrina's angelic face, gorgeous smile and down-to-earth attitude makes her the hot favourite among netizens. Katrina Kaif will be back with a bang in a meaty role in Prakash Jha’s Rajniti and dabbles with comedy in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and is paired opposite her best co-star Akshay Kumar in De Dana Dan.

Meanwhile former beauty queen and an international face, Aishwarya Rai, holds the second position. Now busy with the shooting for the film Raavana with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan, she has a string of films with big directors like Vipul Shah, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rituparno Ghosh.

Katrina recently took a shot at Kareena Kapoor. Katrina, the more successful of the two let Kareena take one below the belt as she criticised Bebo's preference of showing more skin to male audiences rather than acting on screen. This was in direct reference to Kareena's latest disaster 'Kambakkht Ishq' where she pranced around half naked for most of her running time with limited expressions.

Katrina Kaif said in an interview that she doesn’t need to wear short skirts or show off skin to get people to love her or her films.

Katrina sings praises of Asin, Deepika, Vidya Balan

Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif might be having a large number of fans, but the actress is impressed with acting skills of bindas Vidya Balan, Ghajini Girl Asin, and sizzling Deepika Padukone.

Deepika, who entered Bollywood with 'Om Shanti Om', is all set to sizzle silver screen with Love Aajkal. After watching Deepika's acting, Katrina turned her fan. Now-a-days Katrina is singing praises of her with open heart. Kat feels that Deepika will play a long inning in Bollywood.

In Katrina's opinion, Asin is a best actress. Asin's acting in Ghajini is superb. Katerina feels that Asin will shine as a big star in Bollywood and world will acknowledge her caliber.

So much so that Katrina is a big fan of Vidya Balan. After watching Parineeta, Katerina is impressed with the acting and style of Vidya.

Naseer loses weight, dyes hair to impress Vidya Balan

So far he has refused to colour his hair even for a film, but now Naseeruddin Shah has not only dyed his hair, he has also shaved his beard and lost a lot of weight to look like an eligible 40-year-old for Vidya Balan in "Ishqiya". The veteran actor says he is having the time of his life shooting the movie.

"That's right. I'm supposed to be this 40-year-old rake doing naughty things, like wooing the neighbourhood widow Vidya Balan. Giving me competition in the endeavour is my screen bhanja (nephew) Arshad Warsi. So my character has to really pull up his socks to vie for the lady's attentions," Naseer told IANS.

"I've never really believed in such vanity in real life. But my character definitely does have to be an eligible 40-year-old for Vidya's sake," he joked from Wai, 90 km from Pune. He is shooting for the film by debutant director Abhishek Choubey.

"I'm having the time of my life here in Wai. 'Ishqiya' gives me a chance for a change of pace in many ways," said the thespian. The chemistry between Naseer and Vidya is crackling and the actress has declared that Naseer is her favourite actor.

"Please put this on-record -- Vidya is a really troublesome co-star. And Arshad is such a method actor he spends hours preparing for a scene," Naseer joked and then added: "They're honestly great fun to work with. I've never played anything like this character before."

The films is being produced by Vishal Bharadwaj and Wai seems to be his favourite place to shoot as he shot his ready-to-release "Kaminey" with Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra there. Earlier, he had shot "Omkara" in the same mountain resort.

Deepika Padukone gets malaria attack in London

The actress, who is there for the shooting of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Houseful with Akshay Kumar, was diagnosed with malaria a few days ago. “Initially, she continued to shoot because she didn’t want to waste the unit’s time,” says a source. When the fever increased, she became so weak, that she was unable to even get out of her bed.

“What’s worse is that I’m feeling really guilty about falling ill in a foreign country, when an entire unit is on standby,” said Deepika via SMS. The actress is so weak, she is unable to talk.

Also, Deepika wants to be back in Mumbai later this week for the promotion of her forthcoming release. While co-star Akshay has been a source of strength, Deepika is still feeling absolutely weak-kneed and was in tears according to unit members because she can’t bear the guilt of holding up a shoot.

Kangna Ranaut in romantic comedy

Advani has two flops behind him- Salaam-e-Ishq and Chandni Chowk to China. So he is banking on this movie to do wonders for his career.

Nikhil had earlier offered the role to Shahana Goswami, who eventually turned it down. While R. Madhavan was confirmed as the main lead, the makers of the film were on the lookout for an actress to star with him and settled on Kangna, who supposedly loved the script upon hearing it.

After Kangna was unavailable for comment, her spokesperson told that the actress had just landed in Mumbai from her shoot of Anees Bazmee’s No Problem in South Africa. The actress did not want to speak of the subject now as it was too soon to comment on the issue.

Produced by Anand L. Rai, being made under the Colour Yellow Pictures banner, the film is a love story, scheduled to go on the floors in the third week of September. The film is going to be shot in most portions in North India.

At the time being, Kangna is shooting for Milan Lutharia’s Once Upon a Time and Anees Bazmee’s No Problem and has Kites releasing by the end of the year.

Priyanka Chopra in Neelima Azim's next.

Shahid Kapoor's mother Neelima Azim has asked her son's ex-girlfriend Priyanka Chopra to be a part of the film. Interestingly, Shahid is aware of it and apparently, has no objections to his mother's choice.

Neelima and Priyanka met in Priyanka's flat, which is in the same building as Shahid's. Neelima said, "Yes, I met up with Priyanka at her house. She is the only girl in the industry whom I have approached. She fits the role."

Neelima claimed that she offered this role to Priyanka before the star was linked with her son. Explaining the heroine's role in the film, Neelima said, "The heroine appears only in the second half. It's a very vital role. In fact, I discussed two scripts with Priyanka. She liked both of them."

When asked if Priyanka will still be interested in the film since she has broken up with Shahid, Neelima shot back, "I get along very well with Priyanka. It's a very professional, but warm relationship. Of course, it will all depend on who the male actor is. Priyanka is in a certain league. If I get a damn good actor, but not a top star, I don't expect her to step in. But then, she may still sign up due to the fact that she loved the character which I want her to play."

I'm single doesn't mean I'm breaking marriages: Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta has seen a lot of upheavals in life, but the spunk and outspoken attitude is intact. Every bit her old cheerful self, she doesn’t miss a beat to speak out what is on her mind, and to put the facts straight.
Talking to a news daily recently she talked about her single status.

She said, “I don’t deny the fact that I’m single.” And quite in character, she confessed that men do hit on her. She smiled, “Sure, all the time, but the press hits on me as well!”

Sobering up, she added, “But I’m the same person, with the same values, just because I’m single it does not mean I’m breaking marriages. Don’t link me with every Tom, Dick and Harry.”With this kind of straight-talk, nobody would!

Celina Jaitley and Baba Ramdev

Where Celina Jaitley openly supports the gay community in India, Baba Ramdev has claimed that homosexuality is a disease which he can cure. Both being on opposite camps, it is but natural that both will hurl accusations on each other.

This is what Baba had commented about Celina, “These actresses know nothing about Bhartiya sanskriti.

They stay away from their parents and have no morals. Unke partner har mahine badalte hain.” This comment has obviously offended Celina who is not the one to take anything lying down.

She retorts back saying, “Well, isn’t it strange that this great Brahamachari seems to know more about my sex life then.

I may know myself? I couldn’t be more amused when I heard him making such statements. I really believe though that he himself does not know.

The meaning of true ‘Brahamacharya’.” Celina also answers back on Baba’s comment that she lacks the knowledge of Indian culture. She says, “He has also challenged on my knowledge of ‘bhartiya sanskriti’. Well, this is my take on it:

Bipasha's 'Lara Croft' dream with Hollywood hunk Billy Zane canned?

According to the latest B-town buzz, Bong beauty Bipasha Basu’s much talked about project with Hollywood actor Billy Zane has reportedly been canned.

Source reveals that the shooting for the film should have begun by now, going by the reported schedule. However, rumour has it that the film may not take off at all now because producer Smita Thackeray has backed out of it.

It was supposed to be romantic thriller, to be directed by David Silverman and was to feature Bipasha in a ‘Lara Croft’ avatar.

Well, we don’t know about anyone else, but Bipasha must be really upset about her broken ‘Lara Croft’ dream with American hottie Zane!

Imran wants to maintain a cordial equation with Shah Rukh

Despite being aware of the cold relationship his Aamir mamu shares with superstar Shah Rukh, actor Imran Khan says that he shares a very cordial bond with the King Khan.

Imran doesn’t seem to care about their attempts of lashing out at each other vying for the top spot in the industry, as he admits that he wants to maintain a good equation with SRK.

Imran says, "SRK and I belong to the same industry and my relationship with him is just as normal as it can be with anyone.

He has been very cordial to me, regardless of what has been written about him and Aamir. I know that between the two everything`s fine.”

Being someone from Aamir’s camp, we hope Imran is prepared for the consequences of a pro-SRK comment. Especially.

After his last two debacles, ‘Kidnap’ and ‘Luck’, it seems that only Aamir can save him with another ‘Jaane Tu..’!

Aishwarya set to look old in Action Replay

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai would be looking old in her next coming flick Action Replay. Akshay Kumar is said to be.

In the lead role of this Vipul Shah’s directorial venture. According to the reports, Ash is playing a historical character in the movie.

To give Ash, a real look Vipul Shah hired a Hollywood make-up artist. Shah says, “It took us six hours to get her look right. We started shooting at three in the morning and the shooting went on till 7 a.m.”

Before this, Aishwarya threw tantrums about getting her make-up done by someone other than her own make-up man, but it didn’t work.

About the controversies, Shah said in a statement, “Ash did her old age make up with Paul, a Hollywood make-up artist.”

He added, “When we did it the first time, it didn’t work out well. When you are doing age make-up, you can’t correct it so it had to be removed fully and done again.” Vipul Shah, who made movies like Waqt - The Race Against Time and Singh Is Kinng, says the actress shot the scenes patiently.

Amrita Rao fills in for Katrina Kaif in 'Life Partner'

Abbas Mustan wanted to pair Katrina Kaif in an extended cameo with Govinda in their debut production Life Partner but Kaif insisted on taking her London family vacation so, Amrita Rao took her place.

Director Rumi Jaffery and the Abbas Mustan had to do with a replacement as the film's release date, August 14, is around the corner and waiting for a date from Katrina wasn't an option.

Katrina earlier featured in Abbas-Mustan's blockbuster thriller Race. Amrita Rao filmed her extended cameo role over the weekend.

Govinda plays a divorce lawyer in the Life Partner. The other pairs in the film are Fardeen Khan - Genelia D'Souza and Tusshar Kapoor - Prachi Desai.

The film is about friendship and relationships before marriage. It goes on to explore how the going gets tough after a relationship turns into a commitment post wedding.

Amrita Rao's most recent release was Shortkut - The Con Is On, with co-star Akshaye Khanna. She made waves in the film with her bold makeover. She will be seen in an even hotter look in her cameo opposite Govinda.

Talking about her sizzling looks, Rao, 28, says

"It's always a pleasure working with filmmakers of Abbas-Mustan caliber. And, as for the looks, well you can only expect the hottest from their films, right?"

Mallika Sherawat dares to show her butt

And then there is Mallika Sherawat baring her butt. In not just one scene, but a few of them. I am talking about Mallika’s film Hissss.

Ratan Jain, who is a part of the film, he tried to wiggle his way out by saying, “I am only involved with Hissss in the capacity of a financer. You can talk to Mallika’s bother, Vikram Lamba, who is the producer of the film.”

Vikram totally denies that Mallika has exposed her butt in Hissss. “We have used a body double,” he tells us. Did the otherwise bold actress develop cold feet when asked to do the scene, we wonder. “There’s nothing like that,” Vikram shoots back. “Jennifer Lynch (the director) took a call on the matter and decided that we should use a body double.”

Hissss is the story of a naagin with a vengeance agenda, played by Mallika. The naagin shape-shifts into a beautiful woman to locate her mate who has been captured and creates chaos in the city, and it is this naagin which Irrfan Khan, as a cop, must also capture.

LUCK nahiiiii UNLUCK

Luck' looks at the world of human gambling where kingpin Musa (Sanjay Dutt) employs luck-stricken individuals as betting objects and dares them to fight their own luck to survive.

Their lives are put on the line when Musa challenges them to perform death-defying stunts for big money.

Musa’s annual betting game begins in South Africa when his partner-in-crime, Laakhan Tamaang (Danny Denzongpa), handpicks 20 members from across the globe who have a proven record of extreme luck.

For 20 days, Musa bets on the fate of Ram Mehra (Imran Khan), a middle-class guy who needs to compensate 20 crores his late father had lost in the stock market, Ayesha (Shruti Haasan).

A disturbed girl, retired Major Jabbar Pratap Singh (Mithun Chakraborty), who needs money for his ailing wife, Shortcut (Chitrashi Rawat), an optimistic Pakistani camel racer girl, and Raghav (Ravi Kishan), a rapist.

The bidding begins, and what follows is a series of fatal ‘fear factor’ games in which all of their lives are put into jeopardy - they jump off helicopters and are locked underwater with sharks. The players are taught to be fearless and solely rely on their luck. As Musa says, “the only truth about luck is that it changes under given circumstances.”

With millions at stake, the participants must conquer the hurdles raised by Musa to win this game of money, betrayal, and the biggest addiction of betting. Now how far their luck goes and who wins the final obstacle is revealed through a twist at the end of the film.

Dint worked- While you are hooked in the beginning sequence of the film, the middle portion slows down and heavily relies on character establishment, which eventually becomes boring. It’s really post-interval when all the action begins.

There are few light moments but not enough to keep viewers hooked. For a thriller, one would expect a few more twists and turns to make things more exciting. The only twist in the tale comes in the climax and involves Ayesha’s identity. Things only pick up towards the pre-climax.

Soham Shah’s scores high with casting since all the characters seem to fit the bill pretty well. Sanjay Dutt has mastered the ‘bhai-type’ roles and plays it off once again. Imran Khan strikes a chord with the audience once again and this time, his impressive back-breaking stunts such as jumping from a helicopter on to a burning train keep the viewer at the edge of their seat! Debutante Shruti Haasan’s confidence translates onto the screen and she delivers an overall good performance.

Riya and Raima have catfights in Nauka Dubi

In Bollywood, while one keeps on hearing about catfights between two heroines, but this one is an unheard of ever before.

This is possibly the only sister jodi in Bollywood, Riya Sen and Raima Sen, both of whom will be seen sharing screen space together for the first time in Rituparno Ghosh's Nauka Dubi.

Apparently, Rituparno had approached Riya and Raima for the film at the same time and both of them even received the script together.

They were offered two very diverse roles and both of them had no qualms playing the characters. If sources are to be believed, then, Riya initially thought Raima's character had a lot more prominence and had much more scope and dimension to it as compared to hers. But being a thorough professional and a doting sister, Riya chose to go ahead with the role she was offered, as it was extremely challenging.

What's interesting about the entire episode is that both the actresses are playing roles very contrary to their public image. Our well placed sources revealed that while Riya Sen will be seen in a complete de-glam avatar, Raima will be playing a sophisticated woman.

Speaking about her experience of working with Riya, Raima said, "It was nice to watch her do such a complex character. She was so easy and comfortable on the sets and with the director. Everyone pampered her silly! This is the first time I've played such a mature character in Rituda's film. I play the character of a learned and sophisticated woman who holds her own in any situation. It's quite a contrast from Riya's character who plays a naïve village belle."

Riya stated, "Raima pampered me silly on the sets. Right from organizing the best make up vans and acquainting me with the staff in Kolkata, she was always a phone call away and kept everything prepared for me! Sometimes I felt I was treated like a baby, it felt like my first film." Talk of being life-time members of the mutual admiration society!

New woman in Shahid Kapurs life?

Not many know if Shahid Kapur’s ‘serial-dater’ tag is justified or purely based on speculation, but reports about his liaisons just don’t end. While post-Kareena the young actor has not acknowledged having a girlfriend, gossip has never stopped.

Vidya Balan, Sania Mirza, Priyanka Chopra - he’s said to have gone from one woman to the next rather rapidly.

And, just as rapidly, he has reportedly moved on to his latest woman – Anushka Sharma of “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” fame.

Shahid’s relationship with Priyanka has made enough news off late, with the two opposites said to be perpetually on the brink of a split. It’s now being said that they have parted ways.

In fact, the souring of the relationship is apparently even coming in the way of the promotion of their film “Kaminey”, scheduled to release on August 14.

Both are said to be avoiding joint appearances at promotional events. Meanwhile, it’s being said that Shahid is getting close to Anushka, with whom he’s shooting for a Yash Raj film, directed by actor Parmeet Sethi.

By the way, according to an astrologer, Shahid-Priyanka is potentially a weak match wherein ego issues and conflict of power are most likely. Their relationship has little prospects and even if they are dating, it will all be over by the end of this year, it’s predicted.

I Am a Big Fan of Kareena - Katrina Kaif

Not long after taking an apparent potshot at fellow actress Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif claimed to be a “big fan” of the ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ actress.

Katrina had recently said in an interview that she doesn’t need to wear a short skirt or show her legs to get audiences to go for her film.

Speculations have been rife that the comment was pointed at Kareena for her skimpy outfits in Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kambakkht Ishq.’

However, Katrina has said that she a huge admirer of Kareena’s work and enjoyed her performance in the film.

Asked whether she had seen the film and liked it, Katrina said, “I saw the film at a private screening organized by Akshay.

He is an entertainer and I have always been a big fan of Kareena Kapoor.” Katrina is riding high on the success of her film ‘New York’ and the actress ecstatic over the accolades she received for her work in the film.

“’New York’ was a special film because of its amazing story. I am happy for the director Kabir Khan because he is one of the nicest persons I have met,” Katrina said on the sidelines of the launch of a new logo for ‘Nakshatra’ jewelery brand.

The actress who has wrapped up shooting for Priyadarshan’s next film ‘De Dana Dan’ co-starring Akshay Kumar said, “I have injured myself four times. My back and neck are hurting. Akshay said that we have given so much blood to the film that it will be a hit.” Katrina is now all set to join her family in London to celebrate her 25th birthday on July 16 but has no special plans for the day.

“It is after a long time that I will be united with my six sisters. I don’t know what we may do together on that day,” she said. Katrina brushed off queries on whether beau Salman Khan will be with her on that day and how will she celebrate.“This is not important to anyone. How does it matter,” she said. Katrina’s birthday party in Mumbai last year saw Salman and Shah Rukh Khan’s infamous spat.

Kareena gets hooked to the internet, all thanks to beau Saif

It seems social networking sites have become the latest fad with Bollywood celebrities who love to keep in touch with their fans on round the clock basis.

Be it blogs or other social utilities, interaction of Bollywood actors with their fans has become quite common these days, all thank to the internet and plethora of social networking platforms.

With Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Mallika Sherawat already making waves on internet, news has it that B-town lissome beauty Kareena Kapoor has been hooked to computers, courtesy Saif Ali Khan!

Speaking to a news daily, Kareena said, “It was Saif who introduced me to the computer. He does practically all his work on the internet. He coaxed me into understanding the basics.” The actress maintained.

“And then I got hooked, though not to social networking because I’m too private a person to share my day-to-day movements and activities even with my closest friends.”

For Kareena, she is simply amazed by the internet as, “I now realize it’s a whole large global community out there on the computer. I can’t blog about my life. But I need to understand and connect with the internet community. I’ve been repeatedly told that I’ve the maximum number of fans and well-wishers on Facebook. I could never find the time to connect with them.”

The waiflike lass further added, “Imtiaz said the number of people on Facebook who put up my pictures and messages about me had to be seen to be believed. I’ll now be going on Facebook in a few days to interact with my friends there.” Well, internet has found a new fan in Kareena!

Bollywood actress Rakhi using ancient practice of swayamvar to modernize India?

Travelers to India are not accustomed to seeing images of naked or barely-clothed Indian women. Until very recently, even showing a couple kissing in a Bollywood movie would spark huge controversy in this largely-Hindu country.

But the times are changing in India. Even nudity is coming to Bollywood films. One of the actresses at the forefront of the sexual revolution in India is Rakhi Sawant. Her nude scenes in movies have caused controversy and she was arrested on obscenity charges for gestures she made while wearing a skimpy costume in a stage show.

Rakhi now is the star of a hit reality TV show in India, "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar," in which she is choosing a husband from 16 suitors. It is based on the ancient Indian practice of swayamvar in which the father of a girl of marrying age would seek suitors for his daughter. The suitors would gather together and the girl and the family would then choose the groom from among them, sometimes requiring them to perform various tasks displaying their suitability as a husband. Eventually, the girl would place a garland on the winner and a marriage ceremony would be held immediately.

Arranged marriages are still common in India, with the bride often having little input in the selection process. However, more and more young people are ignoring tradition and opting to select their own mate.
Rakhi is calling the shots in her version of swayamvar, without parental support. She has narrowed the list of suitors down to three, with Canadian businessman Elesh Parjunwala considered the front runner to receive the garland in the show’s August 2 finale.

So will she move to Canada if she selects Parjunwala? “After the marriage, my husband and I will go back to our respective work, wherever it takes us,” she told the Times of India. “And I am certainly not ready to give up my career.”

Rakhi got her start in Bollywood as an “item girl.” The item girl is often a scantily-clad dancer appearing only in a film’s “item number,” a musical scene which may or may not advance the plot of the film. Rakhi does not shy away from being referred to as an item girl.

“Why should I be ashamed of being called an item girl? Do you know what is the meaning of being called an item girl? It means you are beautiful, you have a great figure and you are a fabulous dancer,”

Preity Zinta to make her TV debut

After many actors of her ilk courted the small screen, it's the turn of the dimpled beauty Preity Zinta to start her small screen affair. Reports are that the actress is all set to host a sport based show for a leading TV network. Though the details are not available, it's learnt that Preity is seriously thinking about this deal and is about to sign on the dotted line.

The show will be produced by Siddharth Basu's Synergy Adlabs and will mark Preity's small screen debut. It must be recalled that Preity takes a keen interest in sports and is the co-owner of the team Kings XI Punjab. Well, let's hope Preity's new affair with the small screen gives her sinking Bollywood career a boost that she desperately needs.

Deepika gossips on the walkie talkie

The junior crew members of the Love Aaj Kal team had a pleasant experience shooting with the leading lady Deepika Padukone. One of the crew members says that they grew fond of Deepika while shooting with her and on the other hand she also became friendly with them.

They would often be a part of some prank and gossip on the walkie-talkie. A unit source revealed, "Deepika would borrow the walkie from one of the assistant directors and pass comments, amusing and communicating to a select few who would know and leave the rest baffled as to who the mysterious voice was.

The crew members in the beginning were unaware that it was Deepika and gossiped with her openly. Someone suddenly realized that she was playing a prank with them and soon the whole unit realized that Deepika was the mysterious person.

But Deepika sincerely enjoyed the banter and took all the gossip very sportingly."

Battle of Bollywood Giants- Bachchan Vs Khan Vs Kapoor

It is going to be a battle worth a watch as three biggies are all set to clash on the Republic Day weekend. Amitabh Bachchan's Rann, Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Ranbir Kapoor’s Rajneeti are slated now to release on January 22nd 2010.

Ramu’s Rann was earlier planned for October 2nd release date but following the censorship issues about his Jana Gana song he seems to have decided to push the release ahead. Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots starring Aamir, Kareena Kapoor, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi was slated for a December 25th 2009 release date but again with the dates shuffling post the two months strike, it won’t be possible for Aamir to make a Christmas Day hat-trick. Rajneeti on the other hand was always slated for a January 22nd release date. This Prakash Jha film is carrying excellent reports and also stars Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar and Arjun Rampal in it.

A trade insider tells, “It will be battle royale no doubt about it even if one of these films chicken out. Each film has its strong points and worthy contenders.”

Another trade analyst says, “Though they may clash into each other, with the extended weekend they would get with the Republic Day holiday each one will manage to get their required space. But what a feast it would be for the audience!”

Bipasha's sexy role inspired by Jolie's 'Tomb Raider' in new film

Angelina Jolie’s `desi` counterpart Bipasha Basu is all set to scorch the screen and tantalize the cine-goers provocatively in his new film, which is said to be inspired by ‘Tomb Raider’.

And she also has an international co-star for company – Billy Zane of ‘Titanic’ fame. Not only Bips has a challenging role, she is fortunate to be directed by the famous animator David Silverman in the film.
Produced by Smita Thackeray, the romantic thriller will go on floors on July 25. The film also features Rajvirr as the second lead in the film. A source revealed to a news daily, "At the moment, they are doing photo shoots with Bipasha and Rajvirr. Bipasha`s role is along the lines of Angelina Jolie`s ‘Tomb Raider’. Her character is immensely sexy at the same time very mature and intense."

The film will be shot entirely in Kodaikanal. Billy Zane seen as the villain in Titanic and later in the ‘Mummy’ series had a meeting with Thackeray. He will soon be arriving in India for the film. "There were reports that Bipasha and Billy were to do a film a few months back but now that Smita Thackeray has locked in both the actors, she plans to make an official announcement of the film," a source added. The film, which is a love triangle, is touted to have explicit love scenes and lot of red-hot masala. Let’s see whether `desi` Bips can beat Jolie’s sexy act!

Wow, its Amrita Rao!

We are talking about Amrita ‘Wow’ Rao whose sensuous new looks in her latest film Short Kut — The Con Is On have taken the industry by a storm. And after scorching the screen with her blazing new avatar, the hottie’s ready to make an even bigger splash with Abbas Mustan’s Life Partner in which she will be seen in a sizzling cameo looking hotter than ever before. BT sneaked in on the sets to catch the actress’ new look...

Abbas Mustan seem to be totally fida over your sizzling looks in Life Partner...
It’s always a pleasure working with filmmakers of their calibre. And, as for the looks, well you can only expect the hottest from their films, right?

So how hot is it going for the new sex symbol in Bollywood?
I don’t know about being a sex symbol, but yes — I haven’t stopped getting compliments. And I am simply overwhelmed with the response.

They must be quite a change from the ones you’d been getting for your last performance as the rustic village belle in Welcome to Sajjanpur?
As an actress these are just a few of the many facets that I got to reveal on screen and I am glad that the audiences have accepted both looks equally well.

Veteran painter MF Hussain — a self-confessed fan — pointed out that from being the girl-next-door, you’ve become the hot-girl-next-door...
I really believe that girls-next-door can be hot and sensuous, too. On screen I may be doing sexy roles, but I am never going to ditch being a girl-next-door. Because that’s who I am even today in real life. In reel life, yes, I am still waiting to discover many more facets there are to me as an actor

Has the queue of filmmakers wanting to sign you just got longer?
Oh yes, but I’m in no hurry to sign everything coming my way. I refuse to join the rat race by doing meaningless cinema in a bid to reach the top. I want to leave behind some timeless performances that earn me appreciation as an actress, rather than garner compliments just for my looks.

Sameera ready for more

No Bollywood offers, no problem. That is what seems to be Sameera Reddy’s philosophy. The actress who has created a niche in Kollywood through films like Varanam Aayiram is planning to do more films in Tamil. She has also expressed a desire to do a film opposite Rajnikanth. She seems to be spurred by Aishwariya Rai’s success, who is currently doing Endhiran with Rajni.

In the meanwhile Sameera is also approaching Tollywood producers also to do more roles in Telugu films also. Sameera has just one film on floor in Bollywood at this point of time and she intends to finish it soon and shift base to Chennai. Let us wish Sameera all the best in these new trials.

Shruti Hassans action in Luck

Superstar Kamal Hassan’s daughter is all set to make her debut in the glam-world of Bollywood with Hindi flick titled Luck, which is all set to hit the theatres on 24 of this month.

While speaking to the media, the gorgeous actress said, “I never thought that I will be introduced in a Hindi film.

Since I liked the story I agreed to act in this film. I know Imran from my young age.

Also, I liked the director Soham Shah and the production house, I am happy to act in this film. Normally an actress while doing her first film would choose a romantic story, but I chose to do an action film.

I am doing a character called Aiysha. Since, I had to do act in stunt scenes, so I had to do lots of work-out.” “I don’t believe in destiny.

I feel that if I have the blessings of my parents and God it is enough for me,” signs off the hopeful Bollywood debutante.

Deepika Padukone turns item girl

Doing item numbers in films is nothing new, but yes if someone like Deepika Padukone, who right from her debut film onwards has been seen doing full-fledged & meatier roles, a rare thing for any novice in this vast film industry definitely raises eyebrows. Though the pretty lass was seen shaking legs with superstar Shahrukh Khan in BILLU, but that didn't catapult her enough accolades and create stir, which it should have.

Now the long limbed lady recently completed a sizzling hot item number 'Chakde Mahiya need Duniya... Haddu dati aadey day and night' for a Telugu film titled LOVE 4 EVER which is choreographed by Bollywood's renowned choreographer Ahmed Khan. And she is looking absolutely gorgeous in her hot & sexy attire.

The swanky actress, who is currently busy with her upcoming release LOVE AAJ KAL, took time out of her tight schedule to shoot for the song. Actually, the director of the film Jayanth, who introduced Bollywood beauties like Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu and Preity Zinta, is said to be Deepika's good friend. And Deepika had long back committed to Jayanth about the same.

Reportedly, after shooting the number Jayanth couldn't stop raving about Deepika's performance and went gaga over it. According to him the song is one of the major highlights of the film and everyone will love to watch it once the film releases. After knowing this even we are eagerly awaiting to see you scorching the screen with your oomph!

Aishwarya to do deadly stunts in Endhiran

After showcasing some breathtaking stunts in her earlier flicks like Dhoom 2, gorgeous actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will now be performing on some dangerous stunt for her upcoming flick Endhiran. Rajnikanth will also be the part of these stunts.

Ash is working really hard for this film and it has been learnt that she is learning Martial art from stunt master Ramesh, so that the shot comes to be an excellent one. Ash surely is one committed and professional actress. Undoubtedly, director Shankar is quite satisfied with the way the film has been progressing and hopes to complete it by end of this year.

Salman Khan to Fight a Lion in VEER!!

Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood who has thrashed baddies and goons on the celluloid for umpteenth time, is all set to wrestle with a real lion for the first time in his upcoming mega- budget flick ‘Veer.’

Salman Khan plays a nineteenth century warrior in the film and this particular scene has him protecting a British beauty, who is in the jungle on a hunting mission.

The character of British beauty is being essayed by Liza Lazarus, Miss UK Universe 2008. Salman Khan comes to Liza’s rescue in the film when she is attacked by a lion during this hunting sequence.

Salman not only fights with the lion but also successfully saves the gorgeous beauty, which ultimately gives a new twist to the whole story of the film. The whole shooting of this sequence is likely to take around three days of time from Salman Khan and Liza Lazarus.

However, the location to shoot such a scene with Salman Khan and the lion is yet to be finalized. Till now, producer Vijay Galani has not been able to pin point the location for the shoot, as it requires a state-of-the-art facilities as well as a trained lion to fight the macho Khan.

But producer Vijay Galani is clear about one thing that it will not be shot in India and the whole unit will travel to some exotic location for the shoot. On the question of Safety of lead players Salman Khan and Liza, the producer reveals that rather than dreading the prospect of facing a lion, Sallubhai is excited about the shoot and wants the day to come sooner than later. The shooting is likely to take place next month.

It may be recalled that before Salman Khan fighting a lion in VEER, it was the original He-man of bollywoodSalman Khan to Fight a Lion in VEER!! Dharmendra, who had treaded this path in his films ‘Maa’ in 1976 and ‘Kartavya’ in 1979. In fact, Dharmendra, too, saved the damsel in distress in his film ‘Kartavya’, and the damsel was none other than gorgeous bollywood actress Rekha.

Salman Khan has been deeply involved with every aspect of the film and it is said that even the script had been written by him.

The story is very close to Sallubhai’s heart and he wants the film to succeed at all cost. As the film belongs to British era of India, a big portion of the film has been shot around Buckingham palace in London.

Besides Salman Khan and Liza Lazarus playing lead in ‘Veer’, the film also has Mithun Chakraborty, Sohail Khan, Jackie Shroff, Aryan Vaid and Neena Gupta playing important roles. The film is being directed by Anil Sharma of Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar’ fame.

It seems Sallubhai is on an experimentation spree with his looks. For example, while Salman Khan will be seen in a nineteenth century warrior avatar in ‘Veer’, he is going to sport a thick moustache for his upcoming flick ‘Dabang’, wherein he plays a negative character for the first time.

The film is being produced by Arbaaz Khan and directed by Abhinav Kashyap. The film will also see the debut of Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha opposite Salman Khan.

Sush to star in Hollywood flick again!

Despite keeping a low profile in Bollywood, Sushmita Sen has bagged her second international project. Her first international project Karma Aur Holi, which also starred Hollywood starlet Naomi Campbell bombed at the box-office.

Sushmita is now being considered for a role in a spy thriller that also stars American heartthrob Mark Whalberg. The film is based on a series of novels and part production of the film is planned for India. Interestingly, Sush earlier rejected this offer as she was busy with her ambitious venture Rani Laxmibai. But since that is not happening, Sushmita has decided to accept this offer.

Priyanka signs her first Yash Raj movie

Priyanka Chopra has signed her first Yash Raj film and says she was completely bowled over by the script of "Pyaar Impossible", penned by Uday Chopra, who also plays male lead in the love story.

"It's the only script I've liked in recent months. I can't tell you much about the film's plot. But when I heard the script, I jumped.

I've been hearing a lot of scripts because I've really not been sure about what to do after Ashutosh Gowariker's 'What's Your Raashee?'.

"When I heard the script for Uday's film, I got so excited. It beautiful! Any actress' dream role.

I reacted as a member of the audience," Priyanka told IANS. Uday was last seen in the 2006 movie "Dhoom 2" and is now back in action with "Hook Ya Crook" and "Pyaar Impossible".

Uday, who forayed into films with his 2000 home production "Mohabbatein", worked on the script for nearly a year before asking pal Jugal Hansraj to direct it. "Pyaar Impossible" apparently has a plotline echoing "Notting Hill" about the relationship that grows between a star, played by Julia Roberts, and her fan Hugh Grant.

Priyanka and Uday are not exactly friends. "Uday and I have bumped into each other socially. I know him. But not well enough to call him a friend," said Priyanka. It's rumoured that before "Pyaar Impossible" Priyanka was offered the chance to do a cameo in a song with Shah Rukh Khan in Yash Raj Films' "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi". An offer she declined since she had to share the song with three other leading ladies.

"Not true," corrected Priyanka. "I've done a song with Shah Rukh in 'Billu Barber'. And there're two other songs with other actresses (Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor). I was never offered 'Rab Ne...' So this film with Uday will be my first Yash Raj movie. So it's special on many counts," said the actress. Most Yash Raj watchers also feel screenwriting is a giant step for Uday towards turning director. In David Dhawan's "Hook Ya Crook", Uday teams up with his "Dhoom" co-star John Abraham.
