Aishwarya Rai's Endhiran nears completion

Endhiran, headlining Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai, which has long been in the making, is finally nearing completion.

Shankar, who is directing the Sci-Fi movie, posted an update on his blog on May 28. "Well… except one song the whole film shooting is completed.

The full edited film has been given to A.R.Rahman for background score and Resul Pookutty for the sound effects.

"Just waiting to shoot the last song and waiting for computer graphics work of the climax and some important scenes to be completed."

Filming began in September 2008 in Machu Picchu in Peru, stunning locations never seen before in Indian cinema, with.

Aishwarya and Rajnikant cavorting to two tracks composed by the film's music director AR Rahman. Sun TV Network took over the production of the film from Ayngaran International(AI) in late December 2008. AI backed out of because it felt the budget was not viable and wanted Shankar to scale it down.

The Tamil title Endhiran is based on the work of the late writer Sujatha's novels En Iniya Iyanthira and Jeeno. It has been reported that the film is being made with a budget of Rs 165 crore.
