Vidya Balan To Perform Mandira’s Role

Sanjay Gupta has decided not to multi-task anymore. Early 2011, the filmmaker will flag of Meghna Gulzar’s next directorial venture, Milte Hain, based on Barry Creiton’s play, Double Act. And only after it wraps up will he start filming his remake of the Spanish movie, Ladron Que Roba Ladron.

Interestingly, theater director Vikranth Pawar’s Anything But Love, featuring Mandira Bedi and Samir Soni, that played in Mumbai for a few years, is also an adaptation of the same play. “We’ve purchased the rights and finalized Vidya Balan for it. Gulzar saab is writing the lyrics and Vishal Bhardwaj is composing the music,” says Gupta, adding that they’re still in talks for the male lead.

Milte Hain will be shot in London. “The skyline of London is changing rapidly so why look for another place?” Gupta counters, admitting that since the days are shorter in winter and the natural light not suitable for shooting, they’ll wait till February for more favourable weather.By then, Gupta’s writers, Darab Farouqi and Sanam, will have finished scripting the Hindi version of the Spanish film with veteran Robin Bhatt. Buzz is that Sunny and Bobby Deol have been confirmed. “Sunny and Bobby are good friends, but I will be able to figure out the cast only after script is locked,” says Gupta. Gupta is also planning a family with his wife Anu. “That is a top priority,” he asserted, when quizzed on his three home productions for next year.
