Karan Johar to make film for kids


Karan Johar's Dharma Productions announced the launch of its first kids' film 'Gippi' in Mumbai.

This is the first time Dharma Productions is launching a lady director.

"Dharma Productions’ has explored various genres right from the super-hit romantic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to action-packed Agneepath. This is the first time when Dharma will be producing a movie just for the kids, " said an official spokesperson on Monday.

The director for the movie is Sonam Nair who has already been associated with Dharma Productions’ while assisting Ayan Mukherji in Wake Up Sid.

Major chunk of the movie has already been shot in Shimla and currently the shooting is going on in Mumbai.

Auditions for the lead actor were conducted across India by the director herself.

After a long series of auditions, finally 13-year-old, Delhi based Riya Vij was selected for playing the lead.

"She has no prior experience of performing in front of the camera. But she is a perfect match for the role of Gippi, " the spokesperson said.

The release date for the movie is not out yet.
