It's not right to showcase bold scenes in family-based TV dramas, says actress Pooja Sharma, who recently shot a sensual number for her show "Ruk Jaana Nahin".
Pooja, who plays Sanchi in the Star Plus serial, danced to "Raat akeli hai", but says there was nothing bold in the picturisation.
"I danced on the song 'Raat Akeli Hai' for the show. It was a sweet romantic number and was not at all bold in any way," Pooja told.
However, the actress believes some shows have dared to go too bold in recent times.
Citing the example of the steamy scene between actors Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor in "Bade Achche Lagte Hain", she said: "It was very bold and probably for the first time in television, but viewers didn't really accept it. They watch the shows with their families.
"I also spoke to some families who were disturbed over it. They said that they watch these shows with their children and its not appropriate to see all this. It should not be this bold."
Pooja's look for the song sequence in show was subtle as she donned a sari for it. She says it was tough to manage the six-yard wonder.
"I know I look really good in saris, but I prefer salwar-kameez. I don't have the patience to wear a sari. It's next to impossible to wear it. While shooting the song, I had to wear it for 12 hours. It was very difficult," she said.
Despite having said that, she also believes that saris work best in the television format, especially for those who play daughters-in-law.
"In a TV serial, I think saris work more. I wore a sari for the song and everyone liked it. I think the mindset is still there that bahus (daughters-in-law) should wear saris. There are very few shows where the bahus wear something else," she added.
Pooja was working as a human resource manager in a company before she was discovered by a model co-ordinator. She left her job as soon as she landed herself a role.
