Poaching Case: Jodhpur court summons Salman

A Jodhpur court has summoned Bollywood actor Salman Khan to appear before it in connection to a poaching case that dates back to 1998, media reports said on Monday.

The court summoned Khan to appear before it on Feb 4 next year.

The court has directed Bollywood actresses Sonali Bendre and Tabu to appear before it in connection to the case.

Khan was sentenced to one-year imprisonment for hunting two chinkaras near Jodhpur in Rajasthan in 1998.

A Jodhpur court had handed down the sentence to Khan in 2006.

The court had found the 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' actor guilty under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

Khan had spent three nights in Jodhpur Central Jail after his conviction.

The district and sessions court later grated him bail.
