Ameesha Patel ends the year on a high

It's been good films, endorsements and much more for the actress in 2012

Ameesha Patel who has had a year full of work from all sides may it be films, events, endorsements or the way her production company (Ameesha Patel Productions) is shaping up is very happy with the way 2012 has gone for her.

The actress was recently spotted shooting in Mumbai for the TVC for Gitanjali. Ameesha is very proud to have been associated with this brand and is happy with the way her look has been presented. She will soon be doing a photo shoot as well for the brand.

Ameesha plans to celebrate the New Year with her co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh since the producers of the film Shortcut Romeo will be unveiling the first look of the film in the New Year.

The launch party will be in south Mumbai for the entire crew and select folk besides businessmen from south Bombay. Ameesha's business partner Kuunal Goomer and his wife Shammli too will be accompanying her. Both Ameesha and Neil are super excited with the way the film has shaped up as both of them have a release each before Shortcut Romeo.
Race 2 releases in January while Neil's film David releases in February. The producers plan to release Shortcut Romeo in April as of now. Post December 31, Ameesha will be leaving on a mini vacation to Thailand with her business partner Kuunal and his wife Shammli.

A few more close friends will also be joining them. Looks like Ameesha couldn't have asked for a better way to end 2012.

Says Ameesha about her special appearance in the film, Yes it is a special appearance and I've loved every bit of it. When Rameshji contacted me 15 months back he first told me, Ameesha I know you are normally used to doing big films where you playing solo but I would like you to do a special role in Race 2 since it's a role that needs your charm and personality. 

Post which I heard the script and the moment I heard it I said yes immediately and I'm very happy with the way Rameshji and my directors Abbas Mustan have presented me.
Apart from the cute role in Race 2, Ameesha will also be seen playing the main lead in films like Shortcut Romeo opposite Neil and two big budget films like Superhit Bhaiyyaji and Singh Sahab The Great with Sunny Deol. She is very happy with the way her career has shaped up.

Giving details about her role in Race 2 she says Race 2 is not like a typical special appearance where I come for a song or for five minutes and go away. My role is very significant and cute throughout the film but its also not like my other films where I play the main character alone, but in all it was truly fun doing the role.

Meanwhile her role in her own home production Desi Magic will be the biggest surprise. 

A source informs, It's the best role any actress could have dreamt of. Ameesha is proud of her business partner Kuunal Goomer to create a role for her that would be desired by every Bollywood actress.

Further the source adds, Desi Magic that has been delayed for over eight months is due to her schedules for other films she has committed for but the film is finally all set to go on floors early next year.
For me roles in a film don't matter whether I play the main lead or special appearances. I consider both the parts equally important and since I always had a great relationship with Ramesh Taurani and Abbas Mustan I coudn't have ever refused this role, says Ameesha with a smile.

Ameesha to endorse Gitanjali jewels

Actress Ameesha Patel seems to be back with a bang - after signing a film, she has been roped in to endorse a jewellery brand.

"It's true guys...I'm endorsing Gitanjali jewels. Just signed up with them last week...thank you for all the good wishes, " tweeted the 37- year-old who recently endorsed a sunglass brand.

The actress, who made her acting debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai", was last seen in 2011 release "Chatur Singh Two Star".

As far as films are concerned, she is doing "Singh Sahab - The Great" with Sunny Deol. Anil Sharma's film will go on the floors end of this month. It will be shot in Bhopal and Indore.

Ameesha and Sunny were last seen together in 2001 hit "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha".

Ameesha, Sunny make a comeback in Singh Sahab - The Great

Filmmaker Anil Sharma, who is bringing back Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol together for a movie after 2001 hit "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", says the new film, titled "Singh Sahab - The Great" will go on floors towards the end of this month.

"'Singh Sahab - The Great' will go on floors by November end and it's a 50-day shoot till Jan 20. We are planning to shoot the film in Bhopal and Indore," Sharma told.

Sharma has maintained a low profile post "Veer", but he is now ready to set the ball rolling with action-comedy "Singh Sahab - The Great".

He is confident the chemistry between Ameesha and Sunny will work in favour of his movie.

"Sunny and Ameesha look good together. They both got good reviews for their chemistry in 'Gadar...'. Ameesha is a good friend and I am sure they will recreate the same magic on the silver screen. They both have good roles in this film," said Sharma.

Talking further about the film, he said: "'Singh Sahab - The Great' is a satire. The film has entertainment, action and a mix of everything. This film will be one of Sunny's finest roles."

The director, who has also directed movies like "Apne" and "Madhoshi", says his 2003 film "The Hero: Love Story of a Spy", has a scope for sequel.

"I don't want to make a sequel just for the heck of it. I feel the stories of 'Gadar...' and 'Veer' have ended. My film 'The Hero: Love Story of a Spy' has a scope for sequel. Maybe in future I can think about it," he said.

When Gadhvi realised that Ameesha and Kuunal were looking for someone who could take their project to a level where it belongs, the director offered his help. Kuunal and Ameesha grabbed his offer and are grateful to him for his kind gesture. 
Adds the source, After hearing Desi Magic's script, he feels that the film has a lot of potential for commercial success. Gadhvi thinks that it will take Ameesha's career to another level. Scorching hot Ameesha! Blame it on her international-level trainer!

Ameesha Patel feels that her competition is not with others in the industry but only against herself 

With her professional plate full, Ameesha Patel has a lot going on in her life. Though her most recent film was the forgettable Chatur Singh Two Star, she's eagerly looking forward to the release of her upcoming films. 

The actress who has completed more than a decade in the Hindi film industry has now turned into a producer too. In a freewheeling chat with HitList, Ameesha talks in details about her upcoming projects, co-stars and working in remakes.

First of all, what are your plans as a producer?
Well, my company Ameesha Patel Productions has two films at the moment. Desi Magic starts in December as we are currently busy scripting the movie, penning dialogues and coming up with chartbuster music. 

To be very honest, it's exciting to be part of such projects. I'm also playing a double role in this film. It's extremely challenging and tiring but satisfying at the same time. Other than Desi Magic, I have a second project titled Paradise Street whose screenplay is under development.

And you're working with Sunny Deol again in Bhaiyyaji Superhit?
I'm working with not one but two Sunny Deols! It's double the fun because he's playing a double role in the film. I've always enjoyed sharing the screen space with him. He's a delight to work with.
Tell us something about your role in Shortcut Romeo...
Shortcut Romeo is like a cat and mouse story. I play an extremely wealthy woman and Neil's character is always trying to go one up on me and vice versa. 

I have that little bitchiness in this role something I haven't done before in a film. I'm essaying this smart woman who won't take things lying down nor let anybody take her for a ride. Having said that, the chemistry between Neil and me is fantastic.

And the film is a remake?
Yes, it was already made in Tamil. In fact, it was a huge hit down South. Come to think of it, in the last few years, some of the biggest Bollywood hits from Dabanng to Rowdy Rathore have all been Hindi remakes. I believe the thing is to have a fresh storyline and surprising the audience.

How was the experience working again with Abbas-Mustan after a pretty long gap?
Working with them is always a dream come true. The last film we did together was Humraaz nearly a decade ago. Teaming up with them for Race 2 was the way to go because I think Race 2 is sexier than Race 1! It's shot in Turkey and Cyprus.

Abbas- Mustan are always great to work with, primarily because most of the time their central character is a female. In Race 2, I'm the fun element as every time, I show up on screen, you end up laughing. I'm not dumb in real life but it was fun playing one.
What equation do you share with Deepika and Jacqueline on the sets of Race 2?
They are so much fun. It was a pleasure to spend time with all of the crewmembers. Furthermore, it was fun to have everybody on the sets. The entire cast was fabulous. I'm excited for the film. The trailers will release along with the release of Student Of The Year across the globe.

What is the secret behind your recent change in looks?
Blame it on my international-level trainer! He knows his job very well and has literally moulded my body. Thanks to his fitness regime, I' ve seen remarkable changes happening to my physique. I'm neither fat nor skinny. Besides, I don't think skinny always means fit.

Among your contemporaries, which actress do you feel acts better than you?
In this business, I think every other girl is better than others. After all, everyone is different. I have what they don't. They have what I dont. 

There is place for all the talent... there is more than enough space. Ameesha cannot do all the roles and the same is true about Kareena or Bipasha. I can only compete with myself. At any given point of time, I'm a better actress than myself.

How do you feel about the upcoming young lot in Bollywood?
I feel there is a bundle of talent with cute new faces coming up in the industry right now. Like Ayushmann Khurrana was fantastic in Vicky Donor. I'm especially fond of Varun Dhawan. On the other hand, I also think that age has very little to do with charm.

Take Anil Kapoor for example. He's one of the finest actors we've got here. Everybody else will age but he won't. He doesn't lose interest in his work even for a second.
You were seen actively endorsing a sunglasses brand...
I've really enjoyed endorsing Glam Star. I own a huge collection of sunglasses myself. I can really relate to this brand. They are making high quality product at an affordable price. Even a college-going student can buy it without much hassle.

Race 2 is all set for release in three months and hopefully Shortcut Romeo too will release around the same time. How is 2012 going for you?
The year couldn't have begun better then it did (touchwood) with so much of happening from Race 2 to Bhaiyyaji Superhit to Shortcut Romeo to endorsements to my own production house. I am also in talks for two other films. Things are looking positive and God willing next year, it will be even better and bigger.
How was it working with actors like Anil Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sunny Deol, John Abraham and Saif Ali Khan all in one year together?
It's been a pleasure knowing them all and working with such fine actors. Of course I've already worked with Saif and Sunny before. It's been a pleasure to work with them again and be a part of some big films.

What about your personal relationship? How come we don't hear any more about that?
I've always been honest about them and spoken about them which I guess didn't really go well for me. Now I'm just focussing on my career and my production house and enjoying life more then I have ever and in no mood for any serious relationships at all.
How come the sweet girl Ameesha has suddenly become a hot and sexy girl?
The credit goes entirely to my business partner Kuunal Goomer who always feels that it's the correct attitude that sells in Bollywood. Since I have the looks, talent and attitude then why not show it? (touchwood). 

Things have been really working and in spite of a big gap and some negative people who always try writing me off here I am here with five releases lined up in the next 12 months.

What about the rumours that you were removed from a property that you claimed to have purchased?
Firstly, the property which was spoken about was the one which my partner Kuunal and I were planning to rent on behalf of our company in his and my name on behalf of Ameesha Patel Productions. It was for our CEO Sanchita Chatterjee to reside and not for me. 

The deal for the house which I was supposed to purchase from the same owner in the same building fell off at a very early stage. The owner called my broker Sanjay after taking a token for the rented house after which my partner Kuunal and I both signed on a basic letter as a confirmation since our CEO needed to shift ASAP. 
But after encashing our cheque three days later, he came up with the excuse that I being a celebrity will create problems in the building once he sells the apartment to me and press won't be allowed in the building if I have parties. 

My partner and I found it ridiculous so my CEO Sanchita and I backed off from the deal and as no registration was done, I asked for my money back for rented house deal which he has happily encashed. 

So in retaliation he put up rubbish news in papers as he didn't want to pay the money back. So as of now I'm happily staying where I am staying since years now and in fact my hunt for a lovely dream apartment is still on
What does Ameesha Patel Productions have in store for the people?
Our company is currently working on a project that is my partner Kuunal's concept called Desi Magic. It is entirely his brainchild and we should go on the floors latest by mid-October. We are excited about it and of course post that we shall be busy with our other project with David Dhawan.
What is your reaction towards the Bhatts when they refer to your name for the character that Bipasha Basu is playing in their film Raaz 3?
Each one is entitled to his opinion and we should all respect that. I hope the film does well for them after all so much hard work, efforts, passion, time and money goes into a film. The Bhatts are very talented and have made some very special films that entertain people and I'm sure this, too, will and I hope the best for them
What is Ameesha Patel's dream?
All that I can dream now is that like Gadar which had touched a R 200 crore club mark and created history, I hope in this second innings of mine I am lucky to work with some fine actors and directors who feel that Ameesha Patel is the sexy actress whom they would love to romance on screen and celebrate their box office success with and deliver another R 200 crore at the box office.

Ameesha, Sunny in new avatar for Bhaiyyaji Superhitt

Actress Ameesha Patel is enjoying working with her "Gadar - Ek Prem Katha" co-star Sunny Deol after over a decade for "Bhaiyyaji Superhitt", and says the audience will get to see a new side of them in the new movie.

"After (over) 10 years Sunny (Deol) and I comeback post 'Gadar' for 'Bhaiyyaji Superhitt' and the film is turning out phenomenal. It's got Sunny and me in a completely new avatar," Ameesha said here.

"It's not like 'Gadar Part 2'. It's a comedy, it's a masala film and it's got Sunny in a double role... So that's really exciting," added the 37-year-old.

Ameesha is herself set to play a double role in her home production "Desi Magic". She will begin working on it towards October end or November, while she has other projects to concentrate on too.

"Right now I have got another two films lined up which we will be announced very soon," she added.

Ameesha made her Bollywood debut with "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai" in 2000.

She adds, I'm happy my fans are looking forward to seeing me on screen after a while and that's what matters to me. As of now the only way I want to move ahead is by focusing on my films and production house. I'm loving my life and it's a very exciting phase for me. The heat is on Ameesha!

The actress is back from Jaisalmer after shooting for an commercial

A tanned Ameesha Patel has just returned from Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, after shooting for a sunglass brand endorsement. As the shoot was mostly in the outdoors including the desert area, the actress had to face the heat - literally. 

Says a unit source, The heat was unbearable; it was insane. Temperatures went up to 46 degrees. The shoot was extremely close to the Pakistan border. But despite the harsh weather conditions, the ad turned out to be a fab shoot and will be something different for the audience.

Ameesha has posted some pictures of her shoot on her micro-blogging site. She is loving her new look and the way the ad was filmed.
The heat may have tanned her fair skin but we hear that Ameesha is very excited by the way the shoot went off and is waiting for it to go on air. The brand, which will be out in September, caters to those who cannot spend huge amounts of money in buying shades but at the same time want it to be the latest in style.

The source adds, Ameesha was mobbed by fans at Jodhpur airport. It took nearly an hour to get her out from the crowd. Ameesha will shortly be resuming her shoot for Abbas Mustan's film.

Revealed: Flop Bipasha and Amisha Patel's Raaz 3 connection

Producer Mahesh Bhatt describes "Raaz 3" as a mix of three true-life stories of actress Bipasha Basu, director Vikram Bhatt and writer Shagufta Rafique. 

"'Raaz 3' is a cocktail of three true stories. One is about Shagufta, who has observed how people indulge in black magic to enhance their career. I know it sounds bizarre, but that's the truth." 

"Bipasha was in a stage in her real life where she was heartbroken and her career was declining to ground zero. With the landscape filled with new heroines, she had a terrible phase," he said and added that Vikram Bhatt also was in a similar situation when one of his girlfriends broke his heart. 
"Vikram Bhatt's girlfriend (Amisha?) used to manipulate him to enhance her career," Bhatt said. 

He says it is a horror film with a real message. 

"Though the film has horror all over it but it has a soul of real message, truth of fame-seeking celebrity," the 63-year-old said. 

Viewers can see it all when "Raaz 3" hits the screen Sep 7.

First Look: Ameesha Patel gets short and sweet

Actress and her business partner were recently in London for finalising the location for their home production titled 'Desi Magic' 

The film will be shot almost entirely in UK. More then the locations, the duo enjoyed the summer weather in London, which also happens to be Ameesha's favourite city.

The actress has been posting her pictures on Twitter. She is seen mostly in shorts, which seems to be the in-thing in fashion now. It seems like Ameesha's really enjoying her style statement and sources say that she's been flooded with compliments for her looks. 
Adds the source Since the last four to five months Ameesha has been spotted at most events and appearances in shorts. Though it is a simple attire, it has become a style statement and given her a totally new look and feel to her personality. Ameesha seems to be enjoying her life and is happy with the way things are going.

The sources further adds, She is soon leaving for Jaisalmer where she will staying for four days shooting for a sunglass brand ad.

According to the same source, Ameesha is also currently in talks with a big production house for a film. They are keen to sign her and she will be meeting the director soon regarding the dates.

Ameesha stopped by Customs, avoids embarrassment

The actress investigated by Customs officials on her way back to Mumbai from UK 

It looks like Bollywood’s archenemy at the Mumbai airport, Sameer Wankhede is at it again! This time his victim was Ameesha Patel, who was returning from UK. The actress was on her way back to Mumbai with her business partner Kuunal Goomer when she was stopped by Customs officials.

Our source says, “The two of them were in UK, searching for locations for their debut production venture. The Customs officials asked them to step aside and then they were taken aside for checking. Every piece of their luggage was opened and checked.” 
Ameesha was still at the airport when she told us, “We have been here forever but Sameer Wankhede has been very helpful. A female inspector checked my luggage or else it would have been very embarrassing.”

Our source adds, “There was a tip-off which claimed she was carrying jewellery and electronic goods in her bag that were not disclosed.” 

Ameesha adds, “Wankhede said it is a fake case. When my bags were checked, they didn’t find anything.” Later the actress sent us a text message that read, “Paid a small duty for my bags and now we are heading out of the airport.”
