Humaima Khan in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's next?

Pakistani actress has been cast in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film, co-starring Sharman Joshi 

It looks like Pakistani actress Humaima Malick is all set to make India her new home for the next few months 

Buzz is that the actress has been cast in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's next, co-starring Sharman Joshi. 

After being spotted in her first film Bol (2011), she was then picked up by Soham Shah to play Sanjay Dutt's wife in their next. 
A source informs us, Tanuja Chandra, who is making her comeback with Vidhu's production, has signed Humaima as the lead actress for the film. It is a two-hero film and Sharman is already on board.

Tanuja remained unavailable for comment.

Pakistani actress Humaima goes glamorous in Sher


Pakistani actress Humaima Malick, who garnered rave reviews for her performance in "Bol", will be seen in a glamorous avatar in Soham Shah's "Sher".

Based on the Gujarat underworld, the period film also features Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi and Suniel Shetty.

"Humaima is playing a prominent role in the film. She is playing a Bollywood actress. It's a period film and she has got a glamorous look in the film unlike 'Bol'," Shah told.

A Pakistani television actress and model, Humaima debuted on big screen with Shoaib Mansoor's "Bol" in 2011.

Shah has finished shooting for the film, except for the two songs.

"We have finished the entire shooting of the film and just two songs are left. They have to be shot with Humaima. This is not an item number, but the audience will see Humaima's dance number in one of the songs," said Shah.

"We shot the entire film in July and August in Jaipur. It was a 50-day schedule," added the director who earlier wielded megaphone for "Kaal" and "Luck".

Vidya to compete with Pakistan's Humaima

Vidya Balan's dare bare show in "The Dirty Picture" has bagged her a nomination in the best actress category at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSAs), for which Pakistani actress Humaima Mallick is also in competition for her role in "Bol". 

Vidya played southern sex siren Silk Smitha in the Ekta Kapoor produced movie, which won her accolades. Humaima essayed the part of a strong woman who combats patriarchal society in "Bol". 

They are competing alongside names like Korean actress Cho Min-soo ("Pieta"), Russian actress Darya Ekamasova ("Once Upon a Time There Lived a Simple Woman") and Philippenes-based Nora Aunor ("Thy Womb"), according to the official APSA website. 

India has other nominations too at the APSAs, scheduled in Brisbane Nov 23. 
Acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap stands a chance to win the prize for achievement in direction for his crime thriller "Gangs Of Wasseypur", and Manoj Bajpayee is nominated in the best actor category for the same movie. 

The Children's Film Society of India's "Gattu", about a nine-year-old street boy obsessed with flying kites, is nominated in the best children's feature film.
