Mallika Sherawat was unprofessional

Recently at the First Look launch of upcoming film 'Mumbai Mirror', Actor and Producer Sachiin J Joshi lashes out in front of the media about the unprofessional behavior of Diva Mallika Sherawat towards him and his film.

Sachiin clarified that he approached Mallika Sherawat with the script and she agreed to do the film. But she later after receiving the advance money, The actress never responded his calls and he was forced to approach the Producer's council.

"I used to share a very good rapport with Mallika Sherawat. She wanted to do a film with me after my debut film 'Aazan'. When i approached her with the script, She immidiately agreed. But she never wanted to play Bar Dancer's character i guess.

She never responded my calls, Even after taking the advance money. In my case, Mallika Sherawat was unprofessional" said Sachiin J Joshi.
Sachiin Joshi and the director Ankush Bhatt decided to cast a new actress Viviana in the film. On casting the new face, Ankush said "I am very happy and destined about Mallika not doing the film. She wanted some changes in the character i guess, But she should know that people cast her for her 'Image'. My character required that Image."

Sanjay Khanduri's KLPD Rocks YouTube

After being ripped apart by critics, Sanjay Khanduri's one-night thriller 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli' aka KLPD has hit the YouTube channel on internet with a bang. This pirated film surprisingly has generated 75000 views in around 4 days generating a furor on net.

The likes registered on YouTube is a whopping 95%. On checking we found that 1.5 lac downloads have happened on torrent sites in last 2 days since someone has put up the pirated film there too. Generally for a good film in these givens gets 15-20, 000 downloads only

When contacted Sanjay Khanduri said 'I really don't know.. I have suddenly been receiving calls from a lot of friends and messages on facebook twitter are not stopping.

Don't know how to feel.. good for comments and response received or bad for it's a pirated showcasing. Have requested concerned people to stop the pirated display. But overall its positive feeling as my real audience is liking it.

That's the power of a film. You can't stop it if it deserves. I went through a lot of pain while making 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli'. It will be a fresh cut that they will enjoy more.

Rajnikanth to return to Bollywood with Mallika Sherawat

When one heard of Rajnikanth returning to Hindi cinema one was skeptical. After all, the Tamil mega-star is yet to complete his first post -illness project the long in the pipeline Kochadaiyyan. Then was he in a position to start another film, and that too with K C Bokadia?

Apparently Bokadia has approached Rajnikanth for a stellar role in his new film The Dirty Politics. Yes, the same project where Mallika Sherawat plays a character based in Bhanwari Devi, the nurse who was allegedly bumped off by a influential politician in Rajasthan.

Rajnikanth, one hears, would be playing a role specially written for him.

One got in touch with a source very close to Rajnikanth in Chennai who said, Rajni Sir is indeed doing Bakodiaji's film. They go back a long way. This film, we don't know what it is called, requires just ten days of Rajniji's dates. As soon as Kochadaiyyan releases Rajniji would take up this offer.
When we contacted Bokadia he said, Rajnikanth is a very dear friend. He has worked in four of my Hindi films. But at the moment I wouldn't like to say anything.

I had spoken about Mallika playing a central role in The Dirty Politics, and she had expressed displeasure at the announcement coming prematurely and threatened to walk out. So until I am sure we can make an announcement I'd rather not comment.

In the meanwhile we hear Mallika Sherawat who has earlier done a film with the other Tamil doyen Kamal Haasan, is mighty kicked at the prospect of sharing screen space with Rajnikanth.

Sanjay Khanduri tells what went wrong with KLPD

Sanjay Khanduri is not a Filmmaker who likes to take 'Easy' roads. Five years after the 'Cult' classic 'Ek Chalis Ki Last Local' which gave Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia totally another respectable standing in Bollywood, Sanjay returned with KLPD (Kismet Love Paisa Dilli).

But despite of being a well made film with spicy twist and turns, KLPD (Kismet Love Paisa Dilli) failed to attract audiences. Sanjay Khanduri the writer and director of the film shares his Pain, Love, Struggle and Passion one on one with Faisal Saif.

Sanjay Khanduri, The world doesn't know..
Well, I am a very straight forward and a simple life living person. I 'Worship' cinema. I am here today only because of it.

The process of making Ek Chalis Ki Last Local..
As it was my first film so it was really not easy to convince producers for even a small budget film like Ek Chalis Ki Last Local. I had to go through a very painful struggle. There were lot of people with fake promises. But fortunately, There were people who believed in me and had confidence that I will make a good film.

Looking back at the super success of Ek Chalis Ki Last Local..
It came as a slow revelation. I was very happy and it was really unbelievable that Ek Chalis Ki Last Local turned out to be such a big money-spinner specially in DVD and satallite. It gave lot of people a respectable stand in Bollywood along with me. I am really thankful to the people who supported me and stood beside me no matter what. Without this team work, this would had been impossible.

We heard KLPD (Kismet Love Paisa Dilli) was a Re-Awakening of Ek Chalis Ki Last Local..
(Smiles) I had wrote this script and titled it 'Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro'...Where did you got this news from?

While watching the film, I could easily imagine Abhay Deol (Once Again) in Lokesh's part..
(Laughs) Yes you are right. KLPD was written and executed as 'Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro'. It was suppose to be of same franchise. The pillars of the story were intentionally kept the same. One night, Two strangers meeting, Entangling themselves into web of deceit. Only the city and story got changed. Earlier it was Mumbai, Now it was Delhi.

And Abhay Deol..
I admit, I had Abhay in my mind while conceiving and writing as he was part of my first franchise.
What 'Exactly' went wrong with KLPD.. It was a staire on corruption but..?
Lot of small things mis-handled cumulated. I will start with myself. I should have reduced teen college mischevious humor in 1st half. Some critics and elder-lies didn't see it our way and felt offended. I didn't want that.

But there was far more than that in lot of recent films like Kya Super Cool and Delhi Belly?
Smile.. Today film making is not about writers and directors.. it is about who are standing behind the film. The first 3 days belong to the backers and writer's director's job starts from Monday.

If film is good it will pick up. But for that pick up you need word of mouth and for word of mouth you need theaters. We got 2, 3 shows out of 16 shows in a multiplex and we ran out of budgets for promotions a week before release.

Do you think really promotion of a film matters so much..?
Yes it does. 'Jo jaisa dikhta hai.. wo waisa bikta hai..'.. You see content comes to people on friday. But promotions are absorbed by public to make opinions weeks before. Wrong promotions, wrong title and positioning of the film lead us to doom.

And you could not change it?
As a director you are vested with powers to only shoot and script. You can opiniate but not change. It really is sad and shattering when suddenly people with false promises convince you they know all at the back of hand. We went wrong from the first step. The 'Trailers' of the film were designed to make it look like a sex comedy though film was a whacky satire on corruption.

Promo had revealed content which was not acceptable to viewer sitting at home on TV. It is diffrent when you are in a dark hall enjoying the film.

Plus, The Title.. I think people tried and stayed away purposely because of the title Kismet Love Paisa Dilli promoted only as 'KLPD'. They thought this one to be another wanabe Youth-Indian-American Pie-Sleaze coming from the maker who made a Ek Chalis Ki Last Local.

Did you really get a response.. there are some critics who actually liked it too..
Ya some really did like it too. One gets to know only when you see comments on websites, specially comments below the critic's review. The ones who have seen the film have a totally different take on the film.

I'm just happy film is connecting to those managing to watch. We have more than 40000 hits on YouTube on film in just 5 days which is unbelievable.. and with great user reviews. Though somebody needs to stop this film display on YouTube.

If given you a Time Machine to go back and re-start KLPD, What will you do?
(Laughs again) I will First title it back to 'Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro'. Probably make film with new comers at lower budgets. I will take at least 3 to 5 months to design a decent promotion and slot funds for promotion of the film.

Integrate cinema litrates in my content process by screening film to them and layman. Give my film to a studio who can release it big. Rest, I would leave it to the Audiences.
Next film from Sanjay Khanduri..
Well.. I have finished two scripts. Ideas is not to wait long. One is a high concept small budgeted and other big budgeted action. I am starting to cast for one in a week or so.

But most importantly, I would now collaborate with people who keep faith in film content and me and keep me integrated even after the film is completed. I will not let anyone hold any guns on my head this time. I have realized that it's my name at stake above anybody's.

Dear Mallika Sherawat, Please return my Rs 75 lakhs

First the debacle of her latest film Kismat Love Paisa Dilli, and now comes the news that actor-producer Sachin Joshi has complained to leading producers and leaders of the Hindi film industry including Vikas Mohan, Sajid Nadiadwala and Ratan Jain that Ms Sherawat owes him money which she refuses to return.

Says a source close to Sachin, In the capacity of a producer Sachin Joshi signed Mallika for a film that she agreed to do. He paid her a signing amount of Rs 75 lakhs.

However Mallika backed out of her commitment to do Sachin's film, leaving Sachin in a lurch. He however is yet to recover the money. In spite of repeated requests Mallika refuses to return the money.
When we contacted Sachin Joshi he confirmed that Ms Sherawat indeed owes him Rs 75 lakhs. I wish her well. But I want my money back. So far she has not done the needful. I've asked some prominent members of the film industry to mediate. If not I will take further action.

These are not my breasts: Mallika Sherawat

Remember Mallika Sherawat's famous line, "Men only talk to my breasts?" The sex siren had declared it when she descended on the B-Town scene with her plunging necklines and rising hemlines.

Even after all these years, Madam M has not forgotten her one- liner. A birdie overheard her talking about her assets yet again while watching some scenes of her recent flick KLPD-Kismet Love Paisa Delhi.

The cast and crew of the film were watching it with director Sanjay Khanduri when Mallika spotted Neha Dhupia (who has done a cameo in the film) in one of the scenes. It had her sari pallu falling off with her face not too visible.
On seeing this Mallika declared, These are not my breasts! Ouch!

The guy who smooched Mallika 17 times turns director

Actor-turned-director Himanshu Malik on the challenges he faced while making his debut venture

Actor Himanshu Malik who made a promising debut with Anubhav Sinha's Tum Bin and is best remembered for his film Khwahish opposite Mallika Sherawat has turned director. His 45-minute film titled QED stars Amit Sial, Rashaana Shah and Pravishi Das. However, the actor-turned-director himself is not part of the cast.

Himanshu says, I was not happy with the offers coming my way as they were extremely mundane and boring. So I started writing and I enjoying the process. I asked why not take this ahead?

The director had his fair share of troubles too while making the film. He points out, The lead actor disappeared and didn't come back.

The girls in my film called Amit who was shopping somewhere in Lokhandwala. He came, read the script and within 15 minutes he was shooting. He hit me like a jolt of lightning.

Movie Review: Avoid Kismet Love Paisa Dilli

Cast: Vivek Oberoi, Mallika Sherawat, Ashutosh Rana

Dir: Sanjay Khanduri

Rating: *

A Dilli ka munda who prefers to call himself Mr Hunter roams the streets of the country's capital in the thick of the night hoping to find his prey a nymphet. He even declares to his catch, "Dilli safe nahin... Dilli mein raat ko shikari ghoomte hai."
Meanwhile Mr Hunter's buddy gives him tips about how to make the `bistar garam.` He asks Mr Hunter, `Chatri hain?` The reply is that he will make do with polythene! Talk of safe sex!

Writer-director Khanduri (who earlier made Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local) may have felt that a script laced with toilet humour and double entendre would be mighty amusing. But in his endeavour to overdo the potty talk, the entire plot stinks only if someone had remembered to use the flush!
Lucky aka Mr Hunter (Oberoi) and Lovina (Sherawat) get caught in a bizarre situation after missing the last train at the Delhi Metro. Instead of showcasing their plight apart from the oddballs they encounter, there is an overemphasis on all the assorted characters indulging in bathroom talk or wanting to use the washroom. Mr Hunter even urinates in whiskey glasses!

Before you say eeks... there is also a menacing eyes Kaptaan saab (Rana). Along with his henchmen, he is on the streets celebrating his birthday. Kaju katlis and robbing an ATM won't do for him, what he wants is a nymphet too. And when he finds one he declares, Happy Mother's Day... tu maa banne waali hai.
There's nothing even on the acting front that can save this film. It's as bizarre as the scene where Sherawat is seen in her silver stilettoes walking on the streets and after a few steps she is seen in flat footwear! And then she declares, `Bathroom jaana hai.` While Mr Hunter wonders why women want to go there so often!

The point to note is that when you make adult comedies, they jolly well be funny, not crappy like KLPD.

Not smooching Please

Sanjay Khanduri, whose second film Kismet Love Paisa Dilli comes two years after Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local, talks about his latest project

Journalist-turned-director Sanjay Khanduri's Kismet Love Paisa Dilli (KLPD), starring Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat, released this Friday. It took him over five years since his directorial debut Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local (ECKLL) to make another film. Khanduri reveals what took him so long, working with Mallika and more...

Why did you take such a long time to make your second film?
After the kind of appreciation my first film ECKLL received, it took me a while to look for the right subject. Then I had to find a producer who would trust me. Amit Chandrra liked the script and we started working on KLPD.

Your obsession of films set in one night continues...
The drama in ECKLL unfolded in one night and so does in KLPD. That's what the script demanded. The film deals with other genres like romance and comedy too.

Is it a sequel to ECKLL?
It is sort of a sequel but I would want do a proper sequel some time later. It was a pleasure working with Abhay Deol but I could not repeat him in KLPD because he was not suitable for the role.
Was Mallika Sherawat your first choice?
Yes. I wanted a fresh pair and Vivek-Mallika fitted the bill. There is a certain curiosity attached to their chemistry. Mallika has a lot of potential but unfortunately no one has managed to exploit it as of now. I offered the movie to her when she was in the US.

I emailed her a script and within 24 hours I received a positive reply. She plays a college girl and there is not a single smooch sequence. In fact, she has been hoping to get a makeover with this role. It was a character she always wanted to play.

Like in your previous film, are there any references from your life in KLPD?
There are a lot of incidents I have shared in this film which actually happened with me, as I have studied in New Delhi. The character of Lucky Duggal has to deal with some rough and tough Jats and Sardars like I did.
Was it a stunt to announce the release of your film along with another Vivek Oberoi-starrer Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story that eventually got pushed back?
We started our film first but both ended up choosing the same release date. Producer Kumar Taurani was kind enough to shift the date of his film. It was not a publicity stunt for sure.

Does your experience of being a reporter help you in filmmaking?
It does. In the film, one of the characters is a television reporter. I could imagine and capture all his minute mannerisms very well. It was a deja vu situation.

What is your take on bold films being made today?
Audiences are entitled to see such movies. The government has decided a legal age and we are here to entertain. There is a huge market for such movies abroad and I feel there is no harm in doing such movies. I am fine with doing and watching sex comedies as long as they are made aesthetically.

How much did Subhash Ghai, who you have assisted, influence your style of direction?
I have learnt many things from him especially the art of capturing the locations and presenting them well. His movies always had grand locations. His characters were very nicely drafted and he has an amazing sense of screenplay which I have definitely tried to grasp.
Buzz is that you have an international offer?
I have been approached by an agency from Los Angeles. They are keen to put forward my scripts to some production houses. Mallika is helping me as she is familiar with the scene there. A talent agency is also in talks with me. However, it is too early to talk as I have not signed anything.

Mallika Sherawat and Vivek Oberoi on a wild run

Set during one cold night, Kismet Love Paisa Dilli (KLPD) is a madcap story of Lokesh (Vivek Oberoi) and Lovina (Mallika Sherawat)

From bizarre funny Jats out for robbery to dancing Sardars celebrating an engagement to late night party animals to blood hounding cops, KLPD has it all.

Lokesh and Lovina run across Delhi one particular night from barren streets to glitzy farm house parties... before gradually fall in love! But as the morning dawns on Delhi, Lokesh and Lovina face the final bout of the city.

How they face it and come out of it cumulates the edge of this rollercoaster comic thriller.
Vivek Oberoi plays a 20-year plus Delhi-based guy in this Sanjay Khanduri film. It is a sequel to Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local. To play the role, Vivek keenly observed the assistant directors on the sets. Even though he is 30 plus, he could imbibe their traits by imitating the attitude of the young ones on the sets.

The magical jodi
Director Sanjay Khanduri, who is returning with Kismet Love Paisa Dilli five years after making his directorial debut with Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local, says the new film will be a re-launch for Vivek Oberoi, Mallika Sherawat and himself.

Discussing the film, Sanjay went on record and said, `Today good scripts can make an actor into a superstar. The Vivek and Mallika combination will surely thrill people. We knew that that their pairing would look good; these are two firebrands coming together to create some spark. This will be re-launch film for Vivek, Mallika as well as me.`
Sanjay also added that KLPD starring Vivek as a 25-year-old boy promises to showcase that side of the actor which hasn't been seen for long now.

"Vivek has been seen as a gangster as well as biopic characters. However his potential as a lover-boy hasn't been tapped till date. He is a good actor and has a lot of spunk in him. Even before starting the film's shoot when I met him, he came across this nice friendly guy. Now after working with him I can proudly say that this naughty and romantic role of Lucky has suited him well,` Sanjay said.

Mika effect
Vivek and Mika together created waves few years ago with Ganpat Chal Daru La in Shootout at Lokhandwala and with this film, the actor and the Punjabi singer set recreate the magic. This time however, along with giving vocals behind the camera, Mika will also share the screen space with Vivek for the title track of the film Kismet, Love, Paisa, Dilli.

I am the no-nonsense Delhi girl: Mallika Sherawat

Her film appearances have been few and far between but Mallika Sherawat has been a fairly constant presence at global red carpet events. And that image of a glamour girl is what she is hoping to change with her turn as the "realistic Delhi girl" in her new film "Kismat Love Paisa Dilli".

Mallika, who has been tagged a sex symbol after films like "Khwahish" and "Murder" and has dabbled in some Hollywood films, admits she can't change the image but would like to show audiences the serious actor as well.

She is pinning her hopes on her role as the no-nonsense girl in "Kismat Love Paisa Dilli" (KLPD) to achieve that.

"It's not in my hands to change (people's perception). It's really not. But I would definitely like to add a few more things to the perception (of the people)," Mallika told in an interview.

In director Sanjay Khanduri's "Kismat Love Paisa Dilli", which releases Friday, she will be seen romancing Vivek Oberoi.

"This film is a thriller and has a great north Indian culture in it. After a long time, I am playing the-girl-next-door. Usually the parts that come to me are overtly glamorous. This is a realistic, no nonsense Delhi girl," she said.

"I am hoping to show my actor side more. My fans saw a glimpse of that in 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects' and 'Ugly Aur Pagli'," she said.

Expressing confidence in Khanduri's craft, Mallika added: "He is a maestro as a director. He knows his craft very well. He knows exactly what he wants."
The girl from Rohtak who has been in the US for the last several years says she didn't find any difficulty in relating to the role.

Mallika made her debut in the Hindi film industry with "Jeena Sirf Merre Liye" but got fame with "Khwahish" for the 17 kissing scenes with co-star Himanshu Malik. She locked lips with Emraan Hashmi in "Murder" as well.

She got some appreciation for her acting skills in romantic comedy "Pyaar Ke Side Effects".

The actress believes that she has grown in the the last 10 years and says there have been "many ups and downs".

"Earlier, when I used to have a hit, I used to be ecstatic. And I would go into depression when I would have a flop; I used to go into depression. But you can't take all this too personally," she said.

"Experience changed me. As you grow older and do more films, you don't take these things that seriously. For me, Hollywood also opened up. So I realised it's all a part of the game; you just need to play it well. You can't take things personally," she said.

Any regrets?

"I have no regrets. Where is the time for regrets," she said.

"The Myth" and "Politics of Love" are some of the international projects she has worked in. But Bollywood will remain a priority.

"Bollywood can never take a back seat. The kind of warmth and love that is here doesn't exist anywhere," she said.
Talking about the response to Hindi films abroad, she said: "They are curious about Bollywood. The language is a big barrier. They don't understand Hindi. But they love the format, specially the songs and the colours which are used in the songs."

She credits Danny Boyle for opening the gates of Hollywood wider for Indian actors.

"After 'Slumdog Millionaire', doors are opening and things are changing. People (there) are realising that there is a life outside of America," she said.

Mallika hisses back at affair rumours

When confronted with questions about her alleged fling with Antonio Banderas, the actress tries to scare our reporter through her burly bodyguard

Mallika Sherawat had created quite a buzz in tinsel town after sources close to her claimed that she was having a roaring affair with Hollywood heartthrob Antonio Banderas.

However, the lady has consistently chosen to stay mum on her apparent relationship.
Recently at an event to promote her upcoming film opposite Vivek Oberoi, when we tried to ask her questions about her new beau, the actress prompted her bodyguard to intervene and try and scare away our reporter.

The actress was first spotted dancing in Cannes with Antonio and then was later rumoured to have gone on a date with him. Our source says, "Mallika has always maintained a "no comment" policy on this matter."

When we tried to press her to reveal details about her so-called relationship, glances were exchanged between her and her burly bodyguard, prompting the bodyguard to give us "the look". Mallika then flashed a smile at us and mouthed, "No comment."

We wonder what's to hide when the person concerned is Mallika. After all, thoda dikhao-thoda chupao was never her policy anyway!

Mallika home alone in her washroom!

A birdie chirps to say that Mallika Sherawat had been giving interviews for her forthcoming film at a hotel in Juhu

The makers had booked a room in the hotel where Madam M was giving media bytes. The room was full of scribes, camera folk apart from her attendants.
It so happened that a female media person wanted to use the washroom. But Madam M stopped her from using it and told her instead to go to the washroom in the lobby downstairs. Flummoxed, the scribe just had to follow her diktat. Hmmmm... considering that it was not the actress' personal washroom!

KLPD: A makeover for Mallika?

The actress is all set to get a major image transformation from her usual sexy siren look in Kismat Love Paisa Dilli

Director Sanjay Khanduri is confident that his next film with Mallika Sherawat will bring a major change in the way the world views the actress. So much so that Khanduri says Mallika confided in him saying she always wanted a sweet girl next-door look in her films.

Ever since she shot with us, she keeps saying that she always wanted to have a girl next-door image, Khanduri points out. The director also feels that Mallika's potential as an actress has not been fully explored yet.

He says, Mallika was always my first choice for the film. I wanted her to look simple in the film as it is a family entertainer. There is also buzz that Mallika has been recommending Khanduri's name to her international directors and producers.

It's Vivek-Mallika Vs Vivek-Neha

Vivek Oberoi's two upcoming films, 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story' and 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli', are set to release on the same day with no change in the date so far but the actor hopes one of the producers will move ahead

While Kumar Taurani has produced 'Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story', 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli' (KLPD) is Amit Chandra's project and both are keen on October 5 as the release date.

Promotions of KLPD are on while that of 'Jayanta Bhai' is set to begin soon and either producer is yet to move towards a different release date.

"They (Amit Chandra) may have started promotion now but we too would be beginning by month end. We just need a few weeks of some really intense promotion to get us going. We are not backing out for sure. Our posters are ready, the first cut of the film is in place as well and if there is going to be a clash on October 5 so be it," Kumar Taurani said.

Vivek last had a release two years back when Ram Gopal Varma's 'Rakht Charitra Part I and II' released in quick succession but failed at the box office. The 35-year-old actor is hopeful that there will be an amicable solution. "Of course no one wants a clash. I have spoken to the producers and hopefully one of them will move ahead," he said.

Amit Chandra understands the situation and empathises with Vivek. "It is not great for two films to release on the same day; it is not going to benefit either Kumarji or me. I have requested him that he moves on and hopefully he would."
"The problem is not just about the same release date, it is also about promotion. If promos of two films run concurrently, that may confuse the audience. There should be a gap between two films of the same hero," Amit said.

However, Taurani feels that since he announced the film's completion first, it was his right to arrive in theatres.

"We were just about to start the publicity of our film when out of nowhere I heard Amit announcing his film's completion. I had said earlier that we could sit across the table and sort it all out.

"However, he didn't even talk to me and just said that I should move ahead. He wasn't in the mood to listen to me and he announced the arrival of his film as October 5. It has to be seen who amongst the two of us would budge from the stand."

Amit is not ready to move yet as he thinks October 5 is the perfect date for him. "It is a perfect date for me and I am not moving. I am sure Vivek will have a chat with Kumarji and request him to move ahead. No one wants a clash here."
