2013 will be an exciting year for me: Amrita Rao

Actress Amrita Rao, last seen in the 2011-film "Love U...Mr. Kalakaar!", is looking forward to the New Year when two of her films will be released.

"Two of my films will release in 2013 - one is 'Jolly LLB' which will release in March hopefully and 'Singh Saab the Great', which is releasing in August. I will start filming for it in December-January. So I am looking forward to 2013, it's going to be an exciting year of releases," the 31-year-old said here at an event organised by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Talking about vegetarianism in Bollywood, Amrita said: "In Bollywood, the toughest thing is when actors have to build their bodies, go gymming and they need a lot of protein intake. Because we don't eat non-veg, vegetarians always lack that protein element."

However, she insists vegetarians can have a great body too.

"Of course, there are a lot of substitutes for protein - there is paneer, all kinds of sprouts. I would like to tell everybody, Shahid Kapoor and our wrestler Sushil Kumar, both of them are vegetarians and have built bodies," she said.

Amrita Rao - Kuch Spicy Ho Jaye

Who says you can't party when the skies open up? For Amrita Rao, the rains provide the perfect ambience to let her hair down and have a great time. She lists five party must-haves for the season for B-S:

A room with a (rainy) view
Monsoon venues need to be thoughtfully selected... a good view of the rain coupled with the breeze minus the discomforts of dampening your spirits is most essential!

Let the rhythm get you
Mild music playing in the backdrop always helps to pep up the energy and helps you to set the kind of mood that you want to give your party. Bollywood music has serenaded monsoon many a times anyway!
Kuch spicy ho jaye
Amazing starters tell you that rest of the evening is only going to get better. Any snack with a tangy spicy element compliments this season. Chaat, bhel, corn puffs and cheese stuffed mushrooms are something I would like to see on the menu!

Keeping company
The best parties with the most perfect ambience can go kaput if you don't have interesting company.

For keeps
Return gifts leave a good taste in the mouth and can score above the sweet dish in many cases! How about a fancy umbrella? Because you never know, they might just need it! (laughs)

I look forward to being in love: Amrita Rao

I look forward to being in love: Amrita RaoThe past few months have seen actress Amrita Rao deal with rumours about her link-up with co-star Tusshar Kapoor. But while the actress laughs them off, insisting that she’s very much single, she does admit that, ‘being in love’ is something that she looks forward to.

“Of course, I’d love to be in love someday, but it’s not something that you can go hunting for either. So, the wait for my Prince Charming continues,” reveals Rao. She may be single, but that doesn’t keep Rao from celebrating Valentine’s Day today. She reveals her plans for the day to DNA, “I plan to celebrate it with a bunch of very close friends.” She is quick to add that despite her single status, she does not feel the ‘love-pangs’ at all.

“We might have picked one day in the calender to celebrate love... but I choose everyday!” smiles Rao, as she shares her love mantra. “I think our generation believes in making things happen and not in waiting for a day or a reason for things to happen,” says Rao . But that does not mean that she brushes aside V-day as just another day. Rao still believes in the magic in the day as she says, “Yes, there’s something special about Valentine’s Day.”

So, what’s the best Valentine’s gift she’s ever got? “A fan from Nagpur spent probably all his savings to gift me a guitar and waited outside my house for days just to present it to me! It was straight out of a romantic novel!” she gushes.

A die-hard romantic at heart, Rao explains, “To be in love with every breath you take, flutter those dreamy eyes and flaunt that mooney smile every time your character falls in love on screen... oh, yes you got to be a ‘helpless romantic’ to transcend all that, each time with more conviction on screen!”

But that’s on screen. Off it, she does admit that being a celebrity takes a toll on personal relationships. “It’s funny the way people link you up and then have imaginary break-ups too. It’s hurtful. But I have always chosen not to make a daily soap of my personal life!”

What she doesn’t mind revealing though is how she would want to be wooed by her Prince Charming... “I’d want my man to stop all traffic and propose to me in the middle of the Bandra-Worli sea link,” she laughs as she signs off to celebrate the day.

Amrita Rao's unusual brainstorms

Amrita Rao's unusual brainstormsSo, you thought the sweet Ms. Amrita Rao was an innocent, girl-next-door, huh? Well, what we're going to tell you now will make you rethink.

This gal has gone from sweet, to bold, to kinky. Yeah, believe it or not...she revealed it all. Recently, while talking to zoOm about her next film with the Barjatyas, she said that the film was kinky.

Of course, our jaw dropped with shock, and we asked Amrita what was so kinky about the film? She quickly explained, "It's a sweet, cute story." Hmnnn...we can't say the same thing about your faux pas, gal.

We think the Barjatyas - known for their traditional family dramas - are already getting a panic attack on reading this. And her co-star, the sweet Tusshar Kapoor, must be wondering if was a better idea to go mute for a role, than romance the lovely Ms.Rao on-screen.

Well, we know sex sells, but kinky...we're not so sure yet, gal. And we do like you looking cute, sexy and hmnn....don't worry, we aren't getting kinky ideas already. Lol!

Amrita Rao goes for a Hot makeover

Amrita Rao donning a bold avatar in the Bollywood movie Short Kut had astounded many. However the actress, who is best recognized for portraying the image of a traditional Indian girl on the silver screen, claims that she is not going for a complete change. The 29-year old actress says that she has no uncertainties in portraying characters that have a variety of shades and her celluloid-image depends on the type of roles that she bags.

Amrita Rao goes for a Hot makeover

She said that her image has got nothing to do with her getting roles, since she’s comfortable with her own style. Sisters of Famous Actresses, who don't act

Recognise Anisha, Priya or Preeta? You probably won't or at least not until their last names are given. So let's try again: Do you know Anisha Padukone, Priya Rao or Preeta Balan? Yes, we are talking about the younger sisters of famous Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone, Amrita Rao and Vidya Balan, respectively.

Bollywood can not churn out a Kareena Kapoor for every Karisma Kapoor or a Shamita Shetty for every Shilpa Shetty. After all, some siblings don't want to be part of the glamourous and marvelous world that is Tinseltown.

Though these sisters might make it big in their respective field, we may never see them shine on the silver screen. Here's a list of sisters of the stars, and what they are up to:

Anisha Padukone:
Occupation: Professional golf player

Most young girls would love to have an elder sister like Deepika. Who wouldn't want to follow her footsteps, especially when the red carpet is already laid out in front of you?

But we guess Anisha Padukone in unlike other girls, and why shouldn't she
be? After all she is a professional golf player. In fact, Deepika once
said in an interview that she envies her sister and that Anisha's talent seems pretty extra-ordinary as compared to her own acting career.

Anisha did receive an offer to star in a Kannada film, but she has her own set
of goals that she wants to achieve, which doesn't include acting on
the silver screen.

Ahana Deol
Occupation: Professional dancer.

Her ENTIRE family is in the film business - right from her superstar parents to her half-brothers and cousins to, of course, her elder sister. So what makes her different from Esha Deol?

Apparently films don't interest Ahana, and it's partly because everyone around
her is doing it. As a matter of fact, Esha's first film Chura Liya Hai Tumne was offered to Ahana. And it was after her rejection that Esha was considered for the role. Talk about NOT eating from the proverbial silver spoon!

Anyway, apart from being an accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer, she plans to become a director someday. She is currently assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali Bhansali for his Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ~~Guzaarish.

Rangoli Ranaut
Occupation: Housewife

Not much was known about Kangana Ranaut's family until her sister was subjected to an acid attack by a jilted lover. It made national news much to the discomfort of Rangoli, for she is quite a conservative girl, unlike Kangana.

Fortunately she recovered in time thanks to Kangana, who roped in the best surgeons for her treatment. Rangoli is now happily married to her long-time boyfriend
Vikram, and has no inclination to even move to Mumbai, let alone act in
Bollywood films.

Preeta Rao
Occupation:
Student

She is the younger sister (and alleged twin) of pretty and petite Amrita Rao. Having studied History from Sophia College in Mumbai, she is also rumoured to be pursuing a higher degree in the US.

Sources close to her reveal that she is academically inclined. And although she
has done some modeling assignments she has no interest whatsoever in the glitz and glamour world that her sister is part of.

Priya Balan
Occupation:
Advertising

Vidya Balan had her highs and lows in her film career but as a TV artist (inHum Paanch) she was reasonably successful. Then why didn't her sister ever dabble
in modeling?

Well, because she was apparently more interested in being behind the camera than in front of it. Ergo, Vidya's sister Priya is working in the mad world of advertising. She is working for Lowe-Lintas, where Paa director Balki is the head honcho.

Which sisters of the star would you like to see on celluloid? Leave a
comment and let us know.

Production for Rajashree Entertainment's Love U... Mr. Kalakaar, a young love story headlining Amrita Rao and Tusshar Kapoor has started. The unit is shooting 14 hours a day with trademark Rajashri efficiencies. Amrita Rao, Tusshar Kapoor Start Filming for Love U... Mr. Kalakaar

Also, Sooraj Barjatya, who wielded the baton for the past hits, is taking a backseat. Love U... Mr. Kalakaar, the first of a 3 film deal between Amrita Rao and Rajshir Productions, is being helmed by debutant director S Manasvi, an FTII graduate who has also written the story and the screen play.

It is the story of Sahil (Tusshar Kapoor), a cartoonist, an artist who derives his inspiration from emotions that come from the sky, from the earth, a scrap of paper, a passing shape, a spider's web; while Ritu (Amrita Rao) is a management trainee, whose world revolves around debits, credits, turnovers, profits, deadlines.
