‘Wake up Sid’ - A Ranbir Kapoor movie that takes the viewer into his / her days of care free life with nothing else to do except partying, driving and running away from high school.Excellent performance by Ranbir shows the depths of his talent. It can be categorized as an award winning performance by the young actor.
The movie tells a tale of a young, careless and funny loving guy who loves to spend his fathers hard earned wealth.
Sid (Ranbir Kapoor) is an honest young man with sweet kind heart and is funny and indeed a good friend.
He loves to spend long hours doing nothing except enjoying his life with his friends.
Comes in Aisha Bannerjee (KonKona Sen Sharma) who moves to Mumbai from Kolkata and is an upcoming writer.
She is here to fulfill her dream to become an accomplished writer. Aisha meets Sid who becomes her first contact in Mumbai and sets her up in Mumbai with the help of his friends. All that follows comes in naturally where viewers get to see Siddharth (Sid) finding himself and reconsider his way of looking at his life.
The movie keeps the viewers gripped in the first half of the movie but the later half drags with some emotional moments. Artistically integrated humor in the film is great and so is the music of the movie thanks to Shankar - Ehsann - Loy.
Talking about performances - Ranbir Kapoor is excellent in the garb of Sid. Konkona is very good doing Aisha and so is Anumpan Kher and Supriya Pathak. Shikha Talsania and Namit Das did very well to while performing as Sid’s friends.
