Bollywood actress and former Miss India, Tanushree Dutta, will crown the May Queen 2011 at a beauty pageant organised by the Doha Goans Sports Club at Ramada Plaza Hotel on May 5.Tanushree has carved a niche for herself among Indian film lovers since her debut in 2005, with Chocolate. She has acted in several movies in the last six years. “Aashiq Banaya Aapne, 36 China Town, Bhagam Bhaag, Speed, Mr Fraud. Sas Bahu Aur Sensex and Khilladi are some of her major movies.
One of the leading Indian bands, Black Shades, will provide orchestra support to the show which will start at 8pm. The group, based in Delhi, has performed and entertained audiences at numerous venues both in India and abroad, the organisers said. Some of the members of the team have worked with singers Apache Indian and Kailash Kher.
The organisers have also roped in another brand, 2 Sharp. Some of the team members are based in Kuwait.
The Doha Goans Sports Club, which has promised a host of prizes, has also offered to waive entrance fee for the first 20 contestants who register before April 30.
