Chiranjeevi turns 57


Southern star turned politician Chiranjeevi, who was born in 1955 on 22nd August, turned 57 on Wednesday.

Most prominent in Telegu films, Chiranjeevi, also acted in Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films.

The actor starred in the films like 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari', 'Rudraveena', 'Prathibandh', 'Master', 'Bavagaru Bagunnara', 'Choodalani Vundi', 'Sneham Kosam'.

Chiranjeevi's film Rudraveena (1988) won the National Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.

The actor has also won the Padmabhushan award in the year 2006.

Chiranjeevi has also been involved in various philanthropic activities. In 1998, he founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT), which includes Chiranjeevi Blood and Eye Banks.

Apart from his acting career, Chiranjeevi has also established him as a political leader. In 2008, Chiranjeevi started 'Praja Rajyam', a political party in Andhra Pradesh, which later in 2011, merged with the Indian National Congress.
