Shahid's Casting Coup: Parineeti before Ileana?

Buzz was that Shahid Kapoor had suggested to director Rajkumar Santoshi to cast Parineeti Chopra as his co-star in his film 

Considering that she is his ex-flame Priyanka Chopra's cousin, eyebrows were raised. 

But now that Ileana D'Cruz has been finalised for Santoshi's film, all the wagging tongues are at rest.
But with PC Junior it would have been a different story.
