The decision was taken by vice-chancellor, B L Sharma amid pressure from the students on Monday. On Sunday he had told TOI because of fear law and order situation going out of hand this program will not take place on the campus. The V-C but he was not available for comment.
This decision comes as a disappointment for students who were keen to see the glam girl dance item numbers. In the evening, they again requested the administration to allow the actress to perform, but in vain.
Parveen Kaler, president of union of research scholar said, "We will try to follow the university order, but if case she willingly decides to dance, we should not be held responsible." It is most likely she will display her dancing skills on the stage.
The organisers has left no stone unturned to publicise her appearance in the programme. The banners can be seen on key locations in the city besides pamphlets and SMSes are making the rounds among students. It is learnt that students have paid a hefty sum to the actress for her appearance.
"She'll be given a guard of honour in traditional style at the airport. She will be staying in a five- star hotel," said Kaler. All this has raised some serious questions as to how students will bear the financial burden of the program. According to the sources, the organisers are spending around Rs 30 lack for the event. They have made sitting arrangements for 5,000 students.
